A breached skies game mechanics crossroad, your input needed!

For those of you who don't know what breached skies is, I will attempt to explain very briefly.Breached skies is an rc quadcopter flight type game. You can fly around, crash into trees and the ground, walls, etc.You will be able to perform stunts, upgrade your aircraft, build your own(maybe)? race against others, and possibly be fined if you do not abide by virtual federal regulations.However, I'm at a bit of a crossroads.You see, the way quadcopters work, if you hold the throttle too low for too long, you eventually begin descending slow at first, then the rate of descent increases. If you let it get too fast, the aircraft will eventually enter what is called a stall.It basically rockets towards the ground and gets out of control. The same is true for gaining altitude. I have an audio post going into slightly more details, but for those who aren't interested in the voice post, I will attempt to explain.I'm not sure how to indicate what speeds are safe to land, and what speeds are not.I could use an alarm to indicate that, or I could use a pre recorded sound to also indicate that.For those of you interested in the voice post, here is the link:https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/954 … sroads.oggIf any of you have any further ideas of indication, please do let me know.Thank you so much for reading and your time.Have a good day!

Hello.I have another sujjestion for the game.It would be cool if killing with each weapon gives a player specific points. now whether you kill an enemy by knife or a mine, you get a fixed amount of points. make the player gets more points if he or she uses more weak weapons and get lower score if he uses strong weapons.

the best trick then, @turtlepower17, is only to use the automatic weapons when there are multiple enemies closing in, as though you might waste a lot of ammo, those enemies sure will be gone.

I'd say go with the alarm. Voice recordings are intrusive and people have preferences, but alarms and the like are usually pretty well accepted. You could also make it a wooshing sound like wind passing by, maybe have it start softly for when the copter begins a descent at a low speed, then a louder one for a faster speed of descent and then finally a loud and violent wooshing for when the copter stalls, though you could have both the wind and the alarms.

First of all, I am not trying to make it too close to real life. Second, It's just an idea. It's not a demand. For all I know, someone has already done something like this, for instance, when someone requested a deal or no deal game, someone already had coded one, so it was given out.. There was a roomer that Damien pindelton had created a life sim, but nobody knows if it was released or even CODED IN THE FIRST PLACE.

I spent some time looking through the thread and found a few, but some were hosted on Dropbox and no longer available, so I was wondering if there was a more accessible resource. I played like eight months ago, and seem to recall it being easier to discover asteroids. I remember just setting a heading and slowly cruising, looking for them. Am I disremembering? That doesn't seem to work for me now, unless I'm just too damned impatient and expect to be able to just snap my fingers and "poof"! That's likely, too.

Since starships are a lot more advanced than they were 8 months ago, a way i've found to look for asteroids is to cruise to different coordinates, 2000 2000 2000 is a good spot, increase your sensor range just a little and try scanning around. One thing which may help is the wide array of articles in the articles room, the readme.html which is a little out of date but comes with the game in the installation directory, and finily, the help files you can access in game with f2.

Bbben is an Adult Interactive Fiction author that lately, has been combining Interactive Fiction with the gameplay of a Visual Novel. He uses Adrift 5. Playing his games are reasonably accessible. The Blorb files usually don't work for me though, so you'll have to get his executable which I guess is just Adrift Runner with his game. If Adrift 5 was accessible, I want to do something similar without visuals and Erotica, of course. Twine's 2.0 story format Harlowe seems good too, but the Twine 2 editor remains largely inaccessible at least for me, even the online version.And ah, so that's where that word and the Zizzy awards come from.

yeah the paradise upgrades should affect the knife, and maybe the fists, as well as the other weapons. I think there should also be knife range upgrades available, but only 1 range per upgrade. The other weapons, since they are guns, don't really need this.

Techmaster20, I see a few problems with the way your running things at the moment.Your asking others to code things for you. This makes creating this game utterly impractical, because the programmers will need every single detail of the game, right down to the very last point. If you don't give them those details, they can't code it for you, and you will only make them frustrated.Your giving us an idea. In other words, your running way, way too fast. Your asking us to code a game when it seems like you haven't even figured out the mechanics of the game. There's no storyline, there's no menu layout, there's nothing. Just an idea.You have not figured out any aspects of the project. No project leaders, no project organizations, no management, etc. Don't try and burden yourself with all of that at once; you will seriously fail if you do that.You haven't even con
 structed a beta testing team. While that might come later, it's best to have a set of individuals waiting for your project to get up to the beta testing phase.You have not figured out the programming language this game will be written in. If you haven't figured that out, how are you supposed to make it a reality?Here are some issues with the original idea.You cannot create a life simulation game that is close to real life. Sam Tupi did that and look what happened.Please think about this and repair the issues I have pointed out before continuing with this project. Refine the idea until you know that it is definitely possible. Do not try and merge real life with virtual life. It won't work very well.

If I had the server program to host STW on, I would host the server for you all, but the problem is is that I would have to have a windows server and I only have a Linux server to go off of. question, is the server that was made in BGT launch in a terminal, if the answer to this question is yes, then I might be able to host it! I have  wine on my Linux server and believe it or not, I'm using my Linux server to host a windows version of an RTR server because of the fact that the Linux version doesn't like no one at this time.

Fun fact : I'm sneaky enough to manage two waste runs during my English class (and currently in the english class as well, but don't feel like running it for the third time).A little idea : It's rather frustrated to find a locked crate and forget to equip a weapon, or unable to equip because the scene which lets me access the inventory doesn't pop. could you at least add the inventory access to crate openning scene? Also, I'm not sure if it's a bug, kept forgetting to report, but is it normal to have 1200 hp quest ant in a level 1 region, which is neither hellzone or titan? It happenned to me once and owned me, heh.Keep up the good work man!

Hi,In prcessing power games don't really need much. I remember playing on my old computer with a pentium processor with 1gb ram. You should get about 500 gb of hard disk though, because of sounds etc games are pretty big.

Hi,I've used Linux exclusively for the past 6 months. I have Arch Linux on my laptop, and I even have my iMac dual-booted with Gentoo Linux.True, it can take some getting used to, but it's definitely doable.Accessibility may not be as good as on Windows or Mac OS, but it's far from terrible (in my opinion.)I'm really enjoying it, and I'm not planning on switching away from it any time soon, if ever.

I got a score of around 6 last night but then I got totally owned by an enemy raid.One thing I did notice is that, if you get a bunch of extra speed for your automatic weapons, you can just barely tap the control key and all your ammo is pretty much gone. Then you have to wait for ages for the weapons to reload.

Thanks, that clears up a lot for me. I had another question though, when naming variables or functions I see that most people seem to use underlines, I heard that you can also use another method where you capitalize the first letter of each word. Is there any particular standard or reason why most people use underlines? I kind of prefer using capitals because it is less confusing when Jaws reads a line of code.

Sorry for the double post, but instead of adding individual items like that, why don't you just do the same thing you do with weapons and food? Just have cup, bowl, shovel, and then have the game randomly add cracked/pristine/glimmering/blood-drenched, wooden/ceramic/stone/silver, ancient/carved/delicate/large, etc? Sure you might get weird stuff, like a radioactive purple-striped ceramic shovel, but when has that ever stood in the way of creative random generation?

The math puzzle in 23 is arithmetic sums. 15 = sum(1, 5). It increases by multiples of 5. I never actually learned the pattern to do it quickly; I figured it out while I was working on it, but then I forgot it again. As for the abacus:(spoilers)It's in 7-1. You need the password from a piece of paper in the junk from 12-4. I think it's a number or a massive math problem or something, I don't remember for sure.

Personally, I'm not too concerned about the data going out, since there are millions of computers running Windows and it's highly unlikely mine would be noteworthy enough to be read by an individual. The thing that gets me more than that is that my computer is *my* computer. I want it to do what I tell it, no more and no less, and that definitely does not include wasting CPU time and network bandwidth to upload this diagnostic data. My computer works for me, not Microsoft. I should not, as a consumer, have to assume that my OS is doing things with my computer's resources that do not benefit me or what I'm doing, but with Windows I do. Anyway, the good thing about these updates on earlier versions of Windows is that you can disable the diagnostics tracking service, and telemetry points in consent.exe don't really matter if you're not opted into the Customer Experience Improvement Program; practically every other component on the system has them anyway.
  I've disabled all services and tasks related to CEIP, so I guess I've done all I can. On Windows 10 it's just too much hastle to turn it all off.

Cool, region flee will be useful, (I'd have appreciated it yesterday with my 94 long dead region). I do usualy go by monster health for a guess at damage, but in the above case, well you can see what alice's strength was, so I thought I'd give it a try, but died because I couldn't take the creature out in one hit. then again, when armour is in the game that will balance this somewhat, particularly if say your enemy has to destroy your armour before you start getting damaged.

ahoy boyThank you for the combination! I have made my slow way to 14.4 so far and the guardian devil is being a pain in the arse. I defeated it before although I do remember having problems with that and it took me a while to get it down, I guess it'll take just as long this time round :dApprantly If you die in 14.4 you lose missiles. I.E I bought a pack of reflectors I died without using any and poof,they were gone. A way around that is buy the shit you want, copy and paste your save somewhere,and replace each time you die Btw boy, do you have any clue when it comes to the abacus?I remember it as being behind a door which needs a password where you must fight off some strange thingy to get it..been ages though,so I could be confusing it with something elsegrryf

If it was 16million kb it would mean you'd have somewhere in the region of 800'000'000 items which I don't think is possible unless you played for a straight few weeks.As for the individual items you're right, they aren't randomly generated they are instead picked from a list of preset items, weapons are complex and thus are done within the game, I
  would like to eventually perhaps do more randomly generated misc items though, it would make things much more varied! Good idea@Dark, player trading isn't coded yet but its definitely something I want to get in the game, as for the death I can't really comment, but humanoid creatures are always tough, plus all of his modifiers are positive, Mega Twisted Feral Hawk-Man sounds like a nasty opponent, maybe when armors in it wont be so bad though.

Hello,I tend to write my main function at the bottom of the module just because it allows me to easily jump from the bottom line where I execute the main function to the main function. There is no need to declare a function in any order as long as you are running the function at the bottom of the module. There are some tendencies that one can do that make python 2 and 3 compatible and this is what I try to do when ever I can. HelloI wouldn't know of the best torrent client but what I use myself is BitComet, and it gets the job done. in terms of accessibility its reasonable, at least I have no issues using it although there are a few places that require you to use the jaws curser or whatever equivalent your screenreader hasI wouldn't suggest using Utorrent though, it doesn't really have a good rep when it comes to installing adware and other such crap on your pc.Free download manager from what I've heard is also good.grryf

Well, Pelantas, ofcourse you're right. Keep in mind simply one thing: He's definitely pushing away his customers when acting like this.I preordered a lot of stuff in my life and mostly it works like I was one from the people who got the product firstly for example and EVERY deadline or changes was announced with complex details what's happening etc.To be fair, I didn't enjoyed any of his games so I'm kinda sceptic on it.Games he produced are just not that bad but navigation and game mechanics just pushed me away.Well, time shows what will happen, Now we have a manual, right? so enjoy Seriously, not good step to promote something.

I think I'm very lucky that I'm not doing any pre orders from this developer.now, instead of the video which demonstrate the game, he is now putting the game manual on his website, with no demo posted or any other release information.I think what you have to do now is ask for a refund and don't try to do a pre order from this developer again when he can't set deadlines for this.I'm also waiting for the demo version, but every day I check this thread, I don't see he posted "the demo is ready to download" instead, he always says thanks for your patience and support.if we have to wait for the game to be released, then you should wait until the first quarter of 2016, also applies to steam punk neverland and clock tower chronicles.

Saving has been broken for ages, by the way. Here's a trick. You may want to enable cheats for this.Go to room 10.Go all the way down and get the key. Then go up to the winning door, and save. Then load it. You will be at 0,0, and the key's loop will be there, however there is no key there.I have seen those bugs since I got 2dp and did that.

@soul keeper, I haven't had that happen to me as yet, though I think part of the item generation is due to the fact that items are modable. Btw, is there actually a way to sell misc items? None of the traders seem to have the capacity, and if there is a shop type in town you can sell to I've not run across it. The sad story of Harry, Emperor of the wastes:So I was playing the wastes, finally had a great game. Then I went into this hut, killed some things, and the game just sat there. Out of curiosity I started to look at the wastes files, and noticed the loot file was growing. I figured, at first, [[wow]], I must have gotten a real haul! So I left for a bit, came back, and noticed it was still growing... At this point I was getting kind of worried, because my laptop's fan was going crazy, but I really didn't want to end the game, it was something like my 20th game and the first one I was actually doing awesome in, I had hours of playtime. But then there came the time when the file, a txt file, was 16million kilobytes! So I went to task manager, tabbed over to end process on the wastes.exe, and, after fifteen minutes of regretful hesitation, pressed space. And so concluded the life of Harry, emperor of the wastes.

I've looked at avalon, but my one question is about combat spam. The combat sounded fascinating, but if there is no low spam mode or similar I do wonder about how you get information to play tactically, or are the combat rounds slower than on most muds? Indeed I'll say I prefer muds with slower combat with actual tactics than ones like aardwolf or cyber assault where the combat is super fast and you need to  basically right your own entire interface with scripts and such in order to have any chance at all of making sense of it quickly enough.

truecraig, it happens after the opponent chooses a ship. for example on multiplayer duel. just try to test it with someone and do the same.well, about the battle log) if it's on, the game freezes fully till it's your turn. you can make us able to look at the map or to chat, because the game doesn't even allow to send a message and it also doesn't receive them. we don't even hear when someone's logged off. and that makes me feel it's crashed, i'm out of the game and out of the server... horrible feeling

Yep, I'm gonna see if players like region flee or if it becomes intrusive, so please do let me know!As for armor it will simply reduce damage taken, also some armors have special effects like spiked armor causing damage to the enemy upon hitting you ect, it will reduce damage taken while itself losing durability.What you must remember is eventually with the addition of armor and guns to the game world I'll be giving them to all human and humanoid enemies too, suddenly that gang of 10 raiders will be a real challenge any level

hello all,I pre-ordered both this game and clocktower chronicles, but i keep in mind that probably jiro isn't fast with stating definite release dates, but one thing i know for sure, and that is that his games will be released sooner or later.I am a developer as well, but i don't program when i am not in the moot, when i do, i am more likely to produce serious bugs than when i develop your_adventure when i am in the moot.So i beg you all, don't fall off jiro cause he promised the game will be released in august. various things can occur and with the  website. keep in mind what other games he had produced. not with sounding harsh of course, but various games didn't reach the deadline, and i dare to say that many of you enjoyed his projects. Not reaching the deadline will not say the game won't come at all. the time he takes right now is to optimise the game and the website and if i understood right, the automated ordering system.So again, i beg you all, don't fall of jiro, and again, the game will be send out sooner or later.hopes this makes any sence.greetz mike

If you hit a raid at 80 or so thousand points your pretty much screwed. I managed to survive a 16 man raid only because I had roughly 6 K health to burn through. What happens: you pick the raid item up, 16 guys instantly spawn, they all charge into you at max speed and you end up taking about 200 damage a second because they all can hit you. Then that corpse bug kicks in, and guys 2 through 16 get shielded buy guy 1, who you've killed but his corpse is acting like a shield. Reload speed paradises need to become a thing also because weapon reloads at the higher end become agonizingly slow and your knife and fists  do hardly any damage. The game is still real fun though, and I am off to try and beat my 97 K best score.

Well the region flee is okay with me, it got me out of a very nasty long hell zone, unfortunately it didn't work in the fight pit when I got a 200 hp plus enemy and a 25 damage weapon. Oh well. Btw, is it me or have a lot of lower level monsters gone missing? It seems I spend lots of time running away from stuff that is much! tougher than me even in level 2 regions . One feature I would like to request is the ability to review a pile of items. It's quite odd to get a pile of stuff from a corpse or from a dungeon loot and have to pick it up, then wait for the inventory option again to look at it, and it can be a pain when you pick up 26 food items and then realize they only heal for 1 damage with a 20 radiation cost.A simple way of doing this would just be to give you the option to view your inventory on loot screens such as in dungeons a
 nd when looting corpses, and leave that option open to you rather than moving you streight on once you'd taken all the items (or not), that way you could look at the loot in your inventory as you picked it up. Preorders are great but... never with the audio games like this.I preordered a game many times before but I did it with the video games and it just worked as it should. Now, I can see a situation where you are paying a cash to the single person directly. He's not reacting, or... well, he's but only if there's something positive.It looks very frustrating and funny. He's playing with you and with a time. Manual? video? [[wow]], hard to believe it's real... No detailed informations, no changelogs and... to be fair... When somebody is using words like "It is epic!" "it's the best" "avesome game" bla bla bla I know immediately it will not. Maybe it's my perfectionism but ... what ever. I hope you will get this as fast as possible but... maybe you'll wait for a single video next 3 weeks.

Hello coltonhill01,I have a few previous versions of 2dp still in my hard drive, I have just tested the save feature. it works in version 2.21 but didn't work in 2.6.So, It has been broken somewhere between this 2 versions. It would be very nice if this bug get fixed.

Hi.I'm sure gyro is doing the best that he can. As for getting a refund. I won't be doing that at all for any games of this developer. Why? Because we all learn from our mistakes or fixing accessibility. I'll admit the Eric game and the ard wolf games aren't my kind of games (sorry if I spelt them wrong.) But this one sounds great. I strongly recommend holding off on that refund.Put it this way; we know 2 things: 1. The game will come out in a week or so and if it doesn't, well that leads me in to reason two. 2. You're getting the game for a reduced price.I think; this game will come out and everyone will really like it.

Will there ever be a faster way of going through sensor data?This is something that's always annoyed me to no end when playing. When I dock, I see at least 60 or more to choose from, whether they are ships, planets, whatever. When I want to look for something specific on the scan and I'm close enough to an insanely cluttered area with ships, there's no way to be specific at all except hit down arrow a ton of times before you get there. Not just that, but it's really slow as hell. You can't even hold down the arrow key. At least, I can't. And if you could, you'd probably miss it in all the clutter. 0, 0, 0 is a great example of that. Just to find the station on which I want to dock, I have to go through a bunch of things I really don't care to see. Sure, there's some organization to the madness, but unfortunately in some areas, it doesn't make it any quicker or easier.And seriously, don't give me that "Just r
 emember where it is and keep scrolling" crap. Doesn't fly. Doesn't actually solve the counterintuitive method of going through destinations, places to dock, or which object to scan.For example, I don't see why this hasn't been thoroughly categorized yet. Dumping it into categories and picking from ships, planets, stations, etc. when pulling up these lists should be simple. Allowing you to use letter navigation would make it even speedier to get to the different categories. Right now, you're not even told whether something is a ship, planet or station unless it's in the name. If you scan it to be sure, you have to repeat the steps of arrowing through everything first. If you want multiple scan results, it also tosses you out of the scan list and wants you to go into sensors, then short range. It would make a lot more sense if it kept your position so that you could simply up and down arrow from where you left off.To me, just trying to 
 find the object I want seems like a huge hassle that could be fixed very easily, and I don't really enjoy it. I probably spend more time looking for the object I want in a huge cluttered mess of them than I do actually doing something.For those who've played for a while, I'm wondering how you make this more efficient? That's actually a serious curiosity.

Well closing the topic is a little drastic so I won't do that, I'd prefer (as I hope has now happened), that the people involved solve whatever problem this is by themselves. Actually as you will gather from my previous reply, I wasn't even aware Microsoft Sam  was a girl, what with the ms sam voice sounding rather definitely more like Samual than Samantha .Hopefuly though this is now an end to it.

Hi all,What is the answer to the Adrift forum Spambot question? I just want to get on the forums and not necessarily comb Google.What is the most famous Interactive Fiction magic word?I thought it was undue, you know, like magically undue a turn to redo it.It's a shame the accessibility bug for Adrift 5 only got five votes. I hope Campbel is using NVDA to get these issues fixed.Or trying to get them fixed, anyway. Adrift seems by far the easiest to use as far as actually writing a game. I'm curious to know how Bbben packs his Adrift games into single executable files.
