Hello,I personally didn't have any updating problems. I haven't used the updater posted on Dropbox. Instead I have updated via the game menu and it works for me. I am on Windows 10 64-bit. It says that my BK3 version is latest, V1.63.

Hi. My old HP laptop has finally started to give me problems, so I've decided to install Linux (most likely Vinux or Trisquel) onto it. When I install it, I'll let you know.BTW, I found out that changing the OS on the machine doesn't void the hardware warranty, as I thought it did.

You can delete the dat file, but I strongly recommend making a backup of the data because it is required to install the addon to a different machine.

The items are usually 0.25 across, and the characters are typically around 1.0 across (I might be misremembering and it's only like 0.5 or 0.75?), so you can usually pick up an item at 5.0 when your x position is anywhere from 4.5 to 5.25. I seem to remember there being some ways to move items, but I never could tell if those actually work (the bat claw, Wonder Woman's lasso, crouched punches, I don't think Green Lantern's hand construct moves them, but it should and I should fix that.)The thing that always gets me about Arkham is that it's really hard to get to the hidden area without ending the level, either by beating the Joker, or by the Joker blowing himself up just to spite you.

I'm very sorry for the bugs all around the gameplay. This is completely my fault. It proves that the testing of our development team was not enough.It's natural that everyone complains about the bugs or the game's stability, and I understand the point that someone doesn't want to pay for such a bugged services. I'm fixing the bugs now, and it's getting better. If you don't want bugged translations, please wait until everyone says the stability and playability are enough. I will never abandon the project.Version 1.63 will soon be available. I'll remake the full installer for 1.63 so that anyone who has problems updating the game can apply the changes easily.

I am glad to hear that a new installer will come out soon.There is a very good reason for this.I experimented with a fresh copy of BK3 just for update testing purposes.When I ran the 1.40 Version for the first time, I was asked if I wanted to update to Version 1.62 directly with no steps between.However I was able to manually copy the bkup.exe and look into ist Contents.This file only has the updated Play.exe.However the bkup.exe posted in this Topic on dropbox also contains a modified maps Folder, because it is patch 1.60.But if I Launch an 1.40 Version and directly update to Version 1.62, this means that no updates to the maps Folder a made, even if the 1.60 patch expliciedly contain a modified map Folder.I hope that a full installer will solve this Problem for the foreseable future.

I a;lready know that it runs on win 10. AGM was a good idea, but due to the very limmeted functionallity, and the presence of bugs, it's just not useful. The AAC stage builder is the closest to what I think AGM was meant to be.

 fferent tile? This happens on Arcam, where when I pressed enter at certain spots while walking on concrete I heard the sound of myself presumably walking on wooden, or water tiles. When I press enter again I walked back on concrete tiles. Does that actually mean that I've entered somewhere and then exited it quickly? Almost every audio game available which involves any degree of combat is done using one button. Hear an opponent, press spacebar, or press the control key. I think we're sufficiently far along enough now that this one-button style of gaming really needs to be done away with.In typical mainstream games, you have multiple types of attacks, each with their own advantages and disadvantages. A vicious sword strike that deals high damage but has a longer cooldown, or inflicts balance issues. A light, quick attack which is low on damage, but also low on cooldown. What's more, these attacks can usually be chained together, so that the last attack is either replaced with or followed by a special attack. As an example: fierce strike, light strike, light strike, medium strike might be a combo which releases energy from your sword, or causes you to go into perform a whirlwind spin to deal damage to all opponents in your immediate vicinity. These combos would themselves have t
 heir own cooldowns or resource management considerations, so you couldn't just keep spamming them. Perhaps a combo with a whirlwind strike drains your stamina meter, making you move more slowly for a period afterwards, or the energy beam attack costs mystical energy, which might either weaken or bar you from using other mystical abilities for a time.Furthermore, even navigation could make use of the combo system. I agree,  audiogames have for too long thrived on the prospect of pressing space to do everything.  Having been a player of mainstream games for a long time, I believe audio games can definitly do with an overhaul from developers who are, for want of a better _expression_, willing to try.A lot of people have said "why doesn't anyone develop an audio fighting game" the answer is that developers don't seem to know where to start.  Where to start is to make an engine where you can chain buttons together to make combos etc.., I'd guess.Enough said I think, let's get innovating.

Actually this was kinda fun to look back on and play with for a few minutes. I tried to get a simple environment going with just some stationary sound objects but even that wouldn't work. Soon as you reload the engine or press "test game", your building blocks' properties reset (the blocks themselves remain in place, but the properties revert). I don't ever remember having that problem when I messed with it initially so I wonder if it's a bug that just manifests itself under specific platforms (64 bit perhaps)?It takes forever to start up, uses global hotkeys (so even if it's minimized your keypresses trigger responses) and the game executables just hang if you try to run them directly. It does bring back some interesting memories though. I know I wasn't the only one holding ridiculous hopes for this thing in the months before it's release -- hopes that could only be fulfilled by the availability of a scripting language.I'm not sad that the site and forums are gone, that means nobody will stumble across my humiliating and ridiculous overreaction to the news about that fire (however I still stand by my belief that the hole situation was highly suspicious).I'm glad this remains available to the public as a piece of history, regardless of it's overall uselessness. Myself I'll stick with C++ and SDL (not so bad once you get a framework going, and I'll be able to actually write something that works correctly on both Windows and Mac platforms).

Lets clear up this misconception. Combos and unique jumps and other forms of movement for environment interaction are not just the purview of fighting games. God of War and its successors, for example, are very rich story-driven, puzzle-driven games that heavily employ a combo system, whereby you chain together various attacks. I've just started back up with swamp after being away for I'd say at least six to eight months. Btw, thanks so much for keeping my account active and unchanged as far as time left is concerned. That's really a great feature/gift the fact that I can come back months later and not lose any time.Anyway, with the new quest system in place, well, new to me anyway. lol I have a couple questions.Firstly, is quest death the same as norm death on the game. as in, if I die on a quest, do I lose all? Or is it like LMS style of death.I think it states in the menu that I can have three quests running at any one time. but if I take a quest I sometimes aren't able to take another one because I'm already on a quest. Maybe I haven't tried often enough.Lastly, any idea what quest credits will be good for in the coming swamp days ahead?<

I've never gotten Entombed to work on my win7 machine. No freakin' clue why, as I'd love to play this game already!Offline I play GMA tank commander, I still really enjoy this from time to time. As I recently wiped my hard drive, and put a fresh copy of Windows on it, that's all I have up at the moment.Oh, and paw prints and cast aways. Though cast aways is the online version. Even though there are few people playing when I'm on.

I don't have any clue what whent wrong when I last installed it but it wouldn't work, and then I had to get a  addon that actually worked from someone on this forum. That addon was developed as far as I know because nuance weren't willing to allow nvda developers or what you will to license it or some such bullshit I believe the nvda blog has a post about it too.Codefactory has 2 eloquence. one is a  vocalizer plus eloquence addon for nvda and the other is sapi5 which doesn't meet your needs at all,of courseThe sapi eloquence from what I've read in the faq needs your pc to be connected to the internet for you to use it,else the license expires in 30 days. seriously? first I pay for the product and then I have to keep the dam pc connected to the internet to use that product? great job, codefactoryThe point of all that rant is, I ha

And since a SAPI Eloquence will be useful to me, that's the one I'll grab by way of, er, consideration.Yes the CodeFactory stuff is what I was alluding to earlier; even the portable version requires fecking activation. Of course, as they are keen to point out, that's not really a problem because the computer ID is the same, so just go back to it and deregister. FFS!I agree: eSpeak is the killer. I mean, I'm glad it exists, and I'm not going to persecute NVDA for the lack of Eloquence, but equally, for Eloquence not to be freely available at this late stage smacks of greed by Nuance, plain and simple. Especially when it's fairly clear Nuance aren't actually developing the codebase of Eloquence any more.
  If it were the official synth of NVDA, I imagine the game would be very different, even among advanced users who know better.

Well, the character in the game is a young boy, so I see nothing wrong with this in that regard.however I think some of the dialogue needs a bit of sprucing up.  at the start, the bit where you wake up in the prison.  the bit about where he says it's taking my eyes a bit to adjust I'd change to oh. man it's dark in here!and it's like something out of a horror film to: it's like something out of a bad dream.

So I noticed some errors. some of the items in the inventory appear to be displaying the wrong translations for the wrong items, for example:White fruit 166 Increases maximum defenceThose are actually the ally healing medkits.Remote medical kit 55 Increases maximum attackThe name is only wrong in this case.Those appear to be the only mistranslated items I have right now. Also the camera facing directions still are not translated.I really like the translation work so far though.

I've heard there are serious accessibility issues with Gamemaker. You might be able to use a different IDE such as parakeet though, but parakeet is no longer maintained. Game maker isn't really ideal since it can be a bit bloated and like Trajectory pointed out the sound engine is not the best and isn't super flexible.Does anyone know anything about Unity? I've thought about making a 3D audio game/game on Steam using it where you survive in the wilderness as a person who was blinded in a plane crash. I have some ideas for building an audio engine in there but I don't know anything about Unity, so...

everybody was hating on him for kicking me out of the project, even ns, who's his server host. That may have something to do with it... But here's the thing. I cannot develop a good game myself for the life of me. That's why I like having this project. because I actually have something good on my hands, and I can work with it. I didn't mean to say he put me back on for snappier updates, he actually didn't give me that as a reason. just he realized that he didn't have enough motivation to continue it alone, and he new that I had brought him uphill. And I, have actually outdone him in one thing. I have fixed the connection bug! You know how you have to restart the client every time you wanna reconnect? no longer! IN the next client update, that will be there! And @slj, mason is a good friend of mine. When he kicked me off things did arise, but we got back together before he handed it back over. I am more than just his little monkey and I am sure of that
 . He respects me for who I am, not just what i can do. hell, he's got me beaten in coding by a longshot, and if he wanted to develop it alone, he could, but he doesn't.

everybody was hating on him for kicking me out of the project, even ns, who's his server host. That may have something to do with it... But here's the thing. I cannot develop a good game myself for the life of me. That's why I like having this project. because I actually have something good on my hands, and I can work with it. I didn't mean to say he put me back on for snappier updates, he actually didn't give me that as a reason. just he realized that he didn't have enough motivation to continue it alone, and he new that I had brought him uphill. And I, have actually outdone him in one thing. I have fixed the connection bug! You know how you have to restart the client every time you wanna reconnect? no longer! IN the next client update, that will be there! And @slj, mason is a good friend of mine. When he kicked me off things did arise, but we got back together before he handed it back over. I am more than just his little monkey and I am sure of that
 . He respects me for who I am, not just what i can do. hell, he's got me beaten in coding by a longshot, and if he wanted to develop it alone, he could, but he doesn't. oh, and who would take a 14 year old little prick like me as a dev other than mason?

Update!I've built out an installer and updater for Braillemon. Now the game will automatically search for updates if you select the updater shortcut from the menu when it's installed. You can also opt to play without updates. In addition, there will be a link to the folder with the files in it so that you can modify the sound files and build mods.Currently the updater runs as a .NET application that runs java within it but I may upgrade it later to be a faster updater. I've completed the main game and currently am weeding out bugs, adding sound effects and adding a ton of hidden items to find with the item finder. I should be able to complete a release before Christmas, hopefully.

Well this game sounds interesting and so does Clocktower Chronicles, so I went to http://www.breakerboxstudios.comWhat I found was a web site that had every line of text marked as a heading, forcing me to have to go through every line of the site regardless of whether I wanted to hear what it said or not. Headings are supposed to mark the beginning of various parts of a page so that readers can easily get to the parts they are interested in. The way this web site is coded defeats that.Even more significant, not only did I not find any mention of the Edge of Winter and Clocktower Chronicles PC games, the only games I did find on this site were all mobile games.And finally, it seemed pretty clear that these are all games that are meant to be purchased, but no where could I find the price of any game. I found that the only way to find out the price of a game was to start the purchase process, then be forced to cancel
  it if you decide not to buy.All in all, it was not a very encouraging experience.I don't think that I'll be back. Pity, those two games did sound very interesting. Oh well, there are other games to play.

From my own experiences, I've come to the conclusion that unless you are just looking for a way to learn game making, you are better off avoiding the packaged game making software and just build your own set of tools and libraries. While it does entail more work, the benefit is that you end up with something that will meet all your needs. I've always found packaged game making software to be lacking in one area or another that were important to me.

Flash and Firefox have never played nice together, at least not in my experience. It's gotten a bit better in recent times, but I still disable it for security reasons. As more and more platforms move towards HTML 5, I think we'll see less of these problems. For now, if it's something you can't live without, maybe using another browser for the sites where flash is a problem could be an option.

Yeah, I think the point here is that there really was a world of difference between Softonic or CNet Download dot com and MacUpdate. The reviews on MacUpdate, in particular, were worth their weight in gold--it really was a lovely Mac community. So, while you are certainly right to say that it is inappropriate not to exercise caution in downloading from untrusted third parties, it's also really true that at a time when it was possible to trust these sites (which, remember, get money from ads) it was a really nice and convenient way to learn about and download software. MacUpdate lasted the scourge of adware far longer than the other guys, but it can only have been a matter of time.But oh well, it's over now. Stick to the Mac App Store (which, even there, is not perfect) and use good judgement when downloading from sites. Ultimately, the best strategy now is to go to the source and, only if you really feel you need the software and that it is likely to be worth the 
 risk, to download it from there.

I'm installing all my Windows software so this is an apropos discussion for me, too. Great discussion.I want to give another +1 to MPC. It really is wonderful--just a thin layer around DirectShow. Be aware though, that you must have codecs installed on your box for whatever formats you will want support for. Happily, there are many of them, and they work.But VLC has excellent format support, too. Does anybody have comments on which is better there?And somebody talked about playing sequential files. Can you perhaps express your opinion on the media player that is most suited to playing a folder of files, or a sequence of selected files, in order?

Yeah, nothing says @I want more control" like hot-patching a Windows DLL. I'm not going to 10, though. Win8.1 may be crap, but 10 is a bridge too far. And 7, where this misfeature is not present, is too old now.
