Re: When is the last time anyone has read a braille book?

Actually, I think it's the exact opposite--the price is so high because the market is so small.(Question: do screen readers indicate formatting like italics, bold, etc, when reading with a braille display? I'd check, but my PM40 has been unresponsive for over a year, now.)Building a PACMate costs somewhere in the neighborhood of $300. This is pretty expensive, honestly, but there is so little effort being put into solving the engineering problems with the dots, and whenever someone does it, they're a small group or individual with no funding, so it becomes a small flurry of news articles, then is never heard from again.Freedom Scientific sells PACMates for around $3000. That's ten times the price of production, but can they reduce the price and remain profitable?FS employs programmers who, by necessity, tend to know their way around the nooks and crannies of Windows better than quite a few Microsoft programmers. They h
ave to run tech support, keep Jaws and magnifiers and so forth updated, deal with repairs to damaged hardware, and do whatever it is they do to keep the faith of the government in spite of the advent of free screen readers that can compete. Notice their new training programs that everyone was talking about last week? That seems so bizarre until you realize that it's being marketed to governments and schools... because that's where all the money is.Those Microsoft-tier programmers have skills worth an absolute minimum of $60,000/year. They could be making around twice that in Silicon Valley. Do you suppose that Freedom Scientific sells enough combinations of Jaws licenses and PACMates to pay for salaries like that? 20 PACMates and 60 Jaws licenses could pay two entry-level employees for a year... but no one likes paying that much money very often, so in practice, people will try to make their notetakers and screen readers last as long as possible (I mean, I have a Br
aille 'n Speak 2000 sitting on the corner of my couch right now. This month, it finally stopped reading menus and corrupted all my data, and I am sad.).We're a tiny market with less money than most markets, needing things that the sighted equivalent required well-funded teams and mass-market competition (or Cold War competition, at least) to develop. So, what I'm saying is, give me a million dollars. ... Ur, no, two million; the first million would pay off student loans and go into a reliable index fund so I can live off the interest. The second million, though! I could buy, like, ... *sigh* a mere 100 Senseg SDKs / Brain Port V100s / full page braille displays with an 8second refresh rate. ... It'd probably be more efficient to buy a factory and build a thousand full page displays that way, or invest in engineers, or something.(Some of that million is going into audio game development; let's be real, now. )

With the sticky keys issue, I find that pressing both left and right keys together tends to unlock them (or insert and numpad0 for insert). For everything else... restart NVDA. I notice it tends to accumulate issues the longer it runs, almost as though there is a memory leak somewhere. Firefox in particular tends to make it more noticeable, but I even notice it in Notepad (if I just restarted NVDA, I can use the find and jump to line dialog boxes without any lag, but hte longer NVDA runs, the longer it takes to respond when I press Ctrl+f or ctrl+g.).I've had the problem with the forum's layout getting confused, too. I have no idea what causes it but I've found that sometimes just restarting the browser / computer tends to... sometimes help. I want to think I foudn an explanation in the past week or two, but it's not coming to me right now.

Or a shift, control...Way f1 to f12 are not used? Also a separate list of messageswould be better. a battle list, a job list, etc.i'm talking the single mode because though i have the money, i don't have a credit card to pay for an account.

A few computer problems I'm having..thoughts?

Hello everyone,Recently my computer is starting to act weird. The problems I'm having are like these:1. NVDA becomes unresponsive when you leave the computer for too long without providing input. This happens whenever I'm watching a movie, or reading a fanfiction, or doing any other things that doesn't require input. When you try to either pause the computer, or stop NVDA from talking (since I use the say all function on NVDA and wants to pause it), they either lag, or does not respond at all.2. NVDA lagging in speech: this is actually related to the first problem I'm having. Right after those unresponsive moments, after NVDA finally starts responding, when I try to, say, use the arrow keys to move between desktop icons, the cursor did move, but NVDA is stuck repeating the previous icon I'm on. For example, if I move from recycle bin to my documents, the cursor does move, but NVDA will say, recycle bin one of seven, my documents two of se
ven. Instead of just stop talking about recycle bin once I move to my documents.3. Weird sticky key problem: know that I didn't use the sticky keys function on windows, ever, but the weird thing is, that sometimes after NVDA/my computer/internet explorer becomes unresponsive, a few keys will seemingly be held down even though I didn't hold anything. For example, after one of those times where this happened, the control key seem to be pressed down even though I didn't press the control key. I tried using insert down arrow to ask NVDA to say all, but it only causes my NVDA to set the current voice settings to a lower value - if you know about the CTRL Insert arrow keys on NVDA will change voice settings on the fly you'll know what I mean. Those settings usually require you to hold down CTRL and then press insert + arrow keys, but I only pressed insert + arrows without pressing control but it still sets the settings. I tried to press C when the control key see
m to be stuck, and it coppies whatever I selected to the clipboard instead of, say, moving to the next combo box when I'm using internet  Explorer.4. Weird computer RAM problem: whenever NVDA/my computer/whatever program I'm using becomes unresponsive, or even when it doesn't, my computer seems to use a lot of RAM for nothing. I know this because the computer's motherboard fan becomes extremely loud and everything doesn't respond correctly on the computer, sometimes requiring me to restart the damn thing. and this happened even if I'm not using any programs (I'm at the task switching window and it still happens)5. Audiogames.net forum problem (on my computer anyway): before this I'm able to read the location, posts, user karma and the like of users who posted things on topics, but now I can only read the title and the online/offline thing of the user. Even while reading the recently active topics/topics with new posts pa
ge, before this I am able to read the date of the last post, but now I can't. That doesn't bother me as much but still its damn annoying.I've tried restoring NVDA configurations to default, but it doesn't work. I have a few inclings as to why these problems happened: one is that my graphic card might have been malfunctioning - I heard that if your computer's graphic card malfunctions these things can happen. Another is that its an internet explorer thing, as these problems happens most commonly when I'm on the internet, especially on websites like fanfiction.net, though I don't see how because it worked just fine before, when I went to that website last year. It only started at the end of last year and becomes worse over the days - before this I could have just restarted internet explorer when this happened, now the cursor keeps on going back to the combo boxes in the websites I'm at (if there's any). And the weirdest, and most ann
oying thing about internet explorer now is that NVDA doesn't even read the contents of the combo box to me even if I enter it. If I down arrow it brings me straight to the new page (since combo boxes on fanfiction.net brings you to chapters which you want, and combo boxes on audiogames forum brings you to the forums you choose, etc). It usually allows me to choose the options I want by listing it out in an icon-like way, but now it doesn't. Whenever I went there if I press down arrow, or whatever key, it just brings me to the previous/next page corresponding to the options that's the one previous/next to my current one. without letting me choose.EDIT: I forgot two problems I'm also having on my computer. One of them is that I can't activate some links using the enter ke. I also couldn't activate links using the applications key and then press open. When I try to activate some links (not all links since I still can activate most of them), it gave m
e options like back, forward, save background as, set as background etc, instead of open, open in new window, open in new tab, save target as and the like. This is really b

m to be stuck, and it coppies whatever I selected to the clipboard instead of, say, moving to the next combo box when I'm using internet  Explorer.4. Audiogames.net forum problem (on my computer anyway): before this I'm able to read the location, posts, user karma and the like of users who posted things o ntopics, but now I can only read the title and the online/offline thing of the user. Even while reading the recently active topics/topics with new posts pa
ge, befoer this I am able to read the date of the last post, but now I can't. It only started at the end of last year and becomes worse over the days - before this I could have just restarted internet explorer when this happened, now the cursor keeps on going back to the combo box in fanfiction.net. And the weirdest, and most annoying thing about internet explore
r now is that NVDA doesn't even read the contents of the combo box to me even if I enter it. Whenever I went there if I press down arrow, or whatever key, it just brings me to the previous/next page corresponding to the options that's the one previous/next to my current one. without letting me choose.Any ideas what I could do, besides restoring the configuration to defaults for NVDA, using another screen reader or buying a new computer? I'll try other things as  think of them, but suggestions will be greatly appreciated. No commercial softwares and the like though, I currently couldn't afford such a thing.Sorry for the long rant
and again your suggestions will be welcome.Regards,Kenzon

Re: When is the last time anyone has read a braille book?

Coincidentally, I also own a U2, and I chose it because of its above-average specifications. I know it's not as good as a Raspberry Pi, but I think there'll be a new Braille Sense this year. Anyway, sticking with the current one, it's not that far behind. Certainly the USB and Bluetooth, and possibly Wi-Fi is a bit outdated, but many blind customers don't need the very latest. If you own a Raspberry Pi, it is almost guaranteed that you are very techy and like that sort of thing. Also, remember that most of the cost of any braille display is the cells, and people are still trying to work out how they can be made more efficiently. I am sure that HIMS and all of the other braille display manufacturers would love to sell you a display at a third of the cost if they could because they would know that more people would buy it.

Re: When is the last time anyone has read a braille book?

The hardware and software of Braille notetakers is substandard and outdated beyond belief. This is true for every notetaker I've seen and heard about. For example, the Braille Sense U2 I have right now is $4000. Let's do some math here. Let's go with you're figure and say a 40-cell Braille display is $3000. This device has a 32-cell display, a CPU that runs at a GHZ, 256MB of RAM, and 32GB of storage. It runs Windows CE 6 which is no longer being actively developed, and crashes constantly. It uses mini-USB 2.0 and cannot connect to 5 GHZ Wi-Fi networks. To put that in perspective, the Raspberry Pi 3 that was just released is $40, has a 64-bit quad-core CPU running at 1.1 GHZ, bulit-in Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and can run Linux, Windows and probably some other stuff I'm not aware of. So even accounting for the small market and the Braille display, $4000 is absolutely unreasonable. This rule can be applied to basically and notetaker.

Re: Survive the Wild!

I have a few suggestion for the game. First, there should be a map that all you can do is kill, or watch people getting killed. There should ba a slash command to join it, but noone will hear if someone joins, because it will be up the hole time the server is up. Basically, all you do is kill. Simple as that. You would be able to choose weather you have your pk on or not. Second, if you drop or hold a raw or eatable rabbit or eatable fish next to an animal, the animal will eat the fish or rabbit if you drop it, or follow you if it's in your hand. Third, quests. You will need to type some slash command, but you would be able to get a quest. So, for example, kill 5 bears and get a sword or something like that. What do you all think of these suggestions?

Hello Jsymes,To your first question, you are fine at 20 GB. Linux takes up much less space than Windows. When you are in the installer, you would select erase intire drive option. The Vinux Installer can only access the hard drive of your virtual machine. Think of it as a computer inside your computer. If you are looking for some keyboarde commands, try searching Google for Gnome keyboarde commands and Orca keyboard commands. I hope this helps, and welcome to Linux.

Reading without braille is not literacy. Sighted kids in school don't get away with audio, so neither should blind kids. Audio is passive; braille is active. Statistics have proven that blind people are generally poor at spelling anyway. Taking braille away from us will only make it worse.

Needless to say, those issues are all resolved, as you'll notice in the latest let's play of Slenderman. If you guys have any suggestions of games you'd like for me to play I'm all ears. I'll likely be picking up three or four different games per month that I play interchangeably, and then the next month switch to another set of 3 or 4.Anyway you can follow me on twitter at @alex_agostinoI'll be posting links to new videos there as well as here on the forum.Enjoy!

vm'ing Vinux

2016-03-12 Thread AudioGames . net Forum — Off-topic room : jsymes via Audiogames-reflector

vm'ing Vinux

I've only recently gotten into using VMWare Workstation Player, so I could test Windows 10 without dumping my Windows 7. I've wanted to try some flavor of Linux for quite some time, but also didn't want to rid myself of the Windows I've used forever. I'm going to try and create a vm for Vinux 5.0 64-bit, but I need some advice, as the process for setting up Linux seems to be a bit different than the process for my Windows vm. First, when VMWare asks me what guest os I'm installing, I obviously choose Linux, then it gives me a list of some 50+ different flavors of Linux, I'm guessing I pick the Ybuntu 64-bit, since Vinux is just a modified version of that os? The hardware options seem pretty straight-forward, and I assign 2 of my 4 cores and 4gb of my 8gb ram, but I'm not sure if 20gb hd space is enough or not, the Windows vm defaulted to 60gb. When I've got all the VMWare settings correct and the Vinux launches, it asks me if I want to
erase the drive and install Vinux. Since I'm vm'ing, how exactly do I answer this, especially since I don't want my entire hd wiped and Windows blown away. I'm also trying to find any keyboard commands list for once I get things up and running, since this is my first experience with using any flavor of Linux and don't know how to control the screen reader and such things. I tried looking for some of these answers on the Vinux wiki and faqs, but a lot of the info that's there is for 4.0 and not 5.0, and really doesn't go into much about Vinux for newbies, or vm'ing for that matter. Be greatful for anything helpful that can be offered by any experienced Vinux user, thanks in advance.

in mission 1, you have to build a ship and set sail. in mission 3, you have to build like 11 catipults or something. in mission 5, you have to send your soldiers to concore yetis and capture slaves until you finally beat your apponents. in mission 6, you have to make your people give birth to 4 half yeti (avyet). the rest i don't know, sorry.

problem pairing bluetooth headset with computer

problem pairing bluetooth headset with computer

Hi.So yesterday, I purchased a new pair of Bluetooth headphones which are very good. They are the JBLE 40 Bluetooth headphones, which have controls on them for accepting calls, putting calls on hold, etc. However, I am having a problem pairing it with my computer, and it says in the manual that they are supported. When I go to pair it with my windows 7 laptop, it says installing device driver software, and then after less than a second it says that the drivers were not installed successfully. The headset did not come with a disk to install drivers or anything, so I am wondering what is going on. I've tried everything, from turning off my anti virus software, to unpairing them with my Iphone, but with no success. Can anyone shed some light as to what is going on? if this helps, my computer is a dell. Thanks.

Re: When is the last time anyone has read a braille book?

Actually, it does apply to braille displays.I can pay roughly $3000 for a 40-cell display, but when I add another $3000 to that, I get a 40-cell notetaker. That, I know, is due to the specialised software, but still, look at what happened when APH tried putting Android in a braille notetaker with the Braille Plus 18.

Hello all, Past january we have welcomed silverman into the crew. But this time we will have two new appointments. The advantage about Skype and calling via the internet is that i will note down what they want to tell to the community since i have a connection with them hehe. The new appointments are: 1. hatlor 2. siliqua We first start with hatlor who goes to introduce himself. Hatlor tells: "My name is Robbert van de Starre, am 27 years old and am living in Ermelo in Holland. My hobbies are gaming, listening music and being with friends. What i can add to the team, is simply trying to enlarge the harmony and fun of the game." Siliqua tells: "My name is Eva, am 24 years old, am living near Amsterdam and am studying translating english. My hobbies are also gaming, also listening music and also being with friends and being busy with my studies." When you have questions to our two new crew memb

Re: When is the last time anyone has read a braille book?

I have a multitrack mind, I'm never, or hardly ever on one thing at a time, I'm usually thinking about 3 or 4 things at once all the time unless I'm sleeping and even then, I feel like I've thought about stuff and came to a resolution in my sleep. Braille helps me to focus down, because with audio, I can't just sit there and do nothing, I'm always doing other things whether its playing a game like Swamp, or doing the dishes or walking around, I can't just listen to a book without doing anything else, its not tasking enough to stop me from thinking about other stuff. Braille does that for me. When I read braille, I'm taken up with the process of doing it and all of my concentration is on that. I feel like I take in more and retain more of what I'm reading if I read braille. I can't argue about the huge volumes of braille books, that's not the optimal solution. Braille displays, and multi-line braille display technology is where
its at. And I really don't do well at editing with speech. Its like I'd have to go character by character to feel like I caught all of the stuff, and who wants to do that with a 10 page plus paper. And case is a thing, I have a bad tendency to not capitalize stuff that should be, and yeah, they'll go back in and autocorrect starting of sentences and stuff. Well, that's the stuff that don't get caught by spell checker, and the beep thing on NVDA only works if you're going word at a time, not in a say all. That's why I like braille, and I do agree about it being necessary in elementary students. To the people who code with no punctuation level set, how the hell do you ensure you have matching braces or parentheses, damn, that to me is crazy.

Re: When is the last time anyone has read a braille book?

@Dark I was referring to functional literacy being respected, which I believe in most cases for Blind people means having some grasp of Braille for spelling and such. Not saying it should be a primary source of reading, but as I think we can all agree it needs to be incorporated at the elementary level. I've seen far too many blind people spelling words just by how they sound to believe otherwise. Whether we should! be spelling words like that or in a way that makes more sense is another topic entirely.@TJT1234 that logic doesn't really fly when it comes to Braille displays; it's a simple concept, it's just that more research needs to be done. All other components of a Braille display (Bluetooth, USB port, battery, firmware chip etc) aren't worth more than $50.00 together. Plus I'm sure if a cheaper solution is developed the blindie companies will behave as they always have, by continuing to push what would then be a substandard product without
 innovating.

By having a much cheaper braille display, you would be sacrificing necessary features. To draw an analogy, I can buy a Windows computer for $300, but a computer at $1300 would be much better in the long run. I am inclined to buy braille displays from large, reputable companies.

Re: When is the last time anyone has read a braille book?

Yes, Dark, I agree with you that the method of learning depends on the subject you're specialising in. I specialise in linguistics, and learning a foreign language, in this case English, is a very difficult-if not unachievable task by listening to audio books. How in the world could you know that chauffeur is written: "c,h,a,u,f,f,e,u,r", or worse, any word like antidisestablishmentarianism. So, some subjects, especially foreign languages, need at least electronic books in PDF or microsoft word format books to access. If we had a brail display which offerd you the possibility to read many lines at a time, that would be wonderful cause the chance of misspelling a word would be relatively smaller. I talked once to my friend, and he loved to talk in English. In a sentence, he wrote the word seem, (s,e,e,m), sim, (s,i,m). The reason was that he had been learning English through TV shows and internet articles, all wread out by Jaws or voiceover. I fully agree that s
ubjects like philosophy, psychology, history, social politics (not sure if in English it is called so), journalism, jurisprudence and some other social sciences may be well accomplished through audio books, but music and foreign languages need a lot more work apart from thinking and speaking. The lack of brail materials and books has led many blind folks to choose social sciences here in my country. I know three of my friends who study history. Well, many people will argue that this is a perfect subject for a blind person because he/she has a great intelligence and a great memory, so he'll succeed because of these two characteristics he owns. However, on the other hand it is true that there are hardly any schools who accept blind teachers to attend the subject which they apply for. Moreover, the blind student is forced unwillingly to choose a subject where he can gain access because of the reason that a studio for blinds will take the responsibility to convert his books in
to audio books, so there are no problems regarding this point. The professor may be a good gentleman who will help the student take the exams orally and, good! he's done with it. He will get the degree! But the problem, as I said some sentences above resides in the fact that they are not studying what they dream of but instead, what is recommended and what is a piece of cake. You may ask, where are you trying to get at? I am trying to say that if braille was available, cheaper, afortable and if a brail display cost something like 200-300 euros, the blind community would certainly progress in much bigger strides. Hopefully the screen reading technology has advanced these days and it has reduced to some extent the need of braille, but I still think braille has equally the same importance as normal writing to a sighted person.

PotterSpotter, I'm trying to figure out where the time is wrong on your account.  You said you bought more time in July, so does that mean you had no time left on your account and then you bought more?  After adding 6 months, your account should have lasted until the end of December (if you had no time on your account before buying more time, and assuming you played every month).  If you last played in February then I'm guessing you either had 2 months on your account before adding time, or there were 2 months in that time that you didn't play.

At this point we aren't planning to release a playable demo. A demo gives an accurate, but limited, experience of playing the game. By the time we're finished enough to be able to offer a demo like that, we'll basically be ready to release the game anyway. But I appreciate your patience, and can sympathize with your impatience.

Just uploaded version 1.2.2, it includes:-A few minor bug fixes.-A Marker system that allows you to snap the cursor to a set point on the canvas. Press and Hold the "R" key to set a Marker, then tap "R" to snap the cursor to that position. Note that the window will not snap to the Markers position, so if not using a Tool, the cursor will not leave the confines of the window.-The "C" Key will now tell you the position of a set Marker.-Pressing and Holding the Tab key will now reverse the order loaded images are toggled through.-The TTS Button has been expanded into a TTS Menu. Open it by pressing F7 and use the Up and Down Arrows to select an available Voice. Pressing the Left arrow key will slow the rate of Speech, and pressing the Right arrow key will increase the rate of Speech.

Re: When is the last time anyone has read a braille book?

@Wanderer, funny you say braille litracy is respected by the sighted world, I've found the opposite, sinse after all only blind people read braille much less can write it. actually i found much more acceptance when I started typing, e-mailing and using the internet, though admitedly there was an environmental change. @Nocturnus, I'm not sure on the funding thing with education sinse the hole adminstration is different in Britain, however sausage factory type of teaching where ticking the right boxes is more important than actually making sure someone learns something is a universal problem. I could go into a long rant on production line thinking but I won't, though I fully agree on time, pace, attention span and easy satisfaction being the thieves of contemplation. Actually it's a dichotomy I'm noticed hugely in society. Where in previous eras having "a job" took some degree of skill and was expected to occupy the full attention, these day
s "work" is getting more and more .repetitive and pointless for the majority of people, people being turned into machines. As a consequence, people ar losing the capacity for crytical thought and contemplation and just wanting instant stimulation as a break from tedium if nothing else. Really, we're breeding a race of idiot children who spend every day in detention copying out lines and so missbehave like hell when they don't get their dayly bar of candyOkay, I'll put the synicism away now .However, one point you raise I do find interesting, that of audio textbooks. Actually, audio is how I read most of my papers for my doctorate, sinse with the amount to read, the rather specialized way in which most philosophy is written, and above all the profound difficulty of skim searching it's easier to have them read than either scan them or wo
rse, try in braille. i actually find text books in braille more cumbersome simply because the longer time of concentration means I cannot be fully engaged with the text and ideas presented, especially in complex arguements or difficult material. The  same would  be true if I read an informational book for pleasure, albeit I usually restrict my reading to fiction of one sort or another.as I said, I'm not anti braille at all, even for me who o prefers audio there are occasions it's useful, and of course there are lots of people who aren't me and have different requirements for the optimum absorbtion of information, however my concern is more  with the future of braille given it's lack of technological intigration sinse I fear unless! we get that cheap full screen display braille will disappear just because of lack of availability and expense.

I agree, the tavern should come first before the storehouse. You can then assign hunters and fishermen for meat, and  assign a farmer and build a vegitable farm for  vegitables, that's two sorts of food right there, which should sustain you until you get making bread and then wine. Also remember you always need a cook to serve meals, and you always need peasants to transport the food from the storehouse to the tavern, indeed you always need peasants for lots of things from grinding flour to transporting stuff around to spinning yarn, so take care on that score, and as is usual in castaways remember to keep reassigning and changing jobs as you go to get work done sinse idle people are just taking your food up.Also remember that if you want more food, each farm produces slightly more than one farmer can harvest, so assign an additional farmer (it's roughly about two farms between three farmers to get the maximum).

Unfortunately, stereo panning isn't in the PS4 version, this must have been a relatively recent change, ASW adapting this. How do I unlock the other stories in the Extend story menu? I have completed the CT and CS review, the Sector Seven story which I'm guessing is the Determination extra story, but pressing R1 going forward through the tabs, the next story is locked. Why and how do I unlock it?

The thing that confused me the most in the original Calamity Trigger story is when Nu said she has a body and can talk this time. What the heck? so last time she met Ragna, she didn't have a body? That is never explained anywhere.

Just uploaded version 1.2.2, it includes:-A few minor bug fixes.-A Marker system that allows you to snap the cursor to a set point on the canvas. Press and Hold the "R" key to set a Marker, then tap "R" to snap the cursor to that position.-The "C" Key will now tell you the position of a set Marker.-Pressing and Holding the Tab key will now reverse the order loaded images are toggled through.-The TTS Button has been expanded into a TTS Menu. Open it by pressing F7 and use the Up and Down Arrows to select an available Voice. Pressing the Left arrow key will slow the rate of Speech, and pressing the Right arrow key will increase the rate of Speech.

Re: BlazBlue" chrono phantasma extend menues?

I really like the Calamity Trigger recap in Continuum Shift Extend as it actually used the characters and showed the story as it happened, unlike this one where it is a poor reenactment with the characters explaining it in present time. That said, this recap does explain it pretty well. A lot of stuff you have to suspend sidbelief for.Going to go do the CS recap, and then finish the two other extra stories.

what you're calling strength, or tairyoku, affects how much health and stamina you gain when you level them upit also affects how quickly stamina regenerates during combat, which will come in laterout of the 3 games I think this is actually my favorite, since it's the only audiogame that I know of that plays in realtime in an action RPG style

Re: When is the last time anyone has read a braille book?

I think braille is absolutely 100% necessary for elementary school education and for math. That's a whole other topic though.I like to read braille; I like to have the words under my fingers. But I hate the single line braille displays. It's not the same. Maybe I just need me one of these fancy new ones with touch sensitive word wrap. I would love to get a bookshelf and store some beloved braille copies of books there, but braille fades on paper. I'd want the sturdy plastic stuff, and most books don't come printed on that save for kids books.Somebody donate their estate to Aprone so he can make that full page braille display. Reading braille won't be fully enjoyable for me until I have several lines of text at a time. Sure, I'm only reading one line at a time, what do I need more lines on the page for? I don't know how to explain it. It just feels like I'm climbing this never-ending mountain one step at a time. it's slower
. I don't feel as immersed in the text.
