Re: Monthly chat September 2016

Hi Dark and everyone,It's finally beginning to cool off here in Texas, and I am finally beginning to feel better. Due to a host of Non-24 and epilepsy health issues, along with some post head injury depression just to make it interesting, I have been sick pretty much all summer. For a while, I couldn't concentrate well enough to even finish a book! But things are looking up, and I've perfected the art of good-natured patience if nothing else.As for my reading, listening, and gamingI have been listening to a lot of St. Paul and the Broken Bones, Alabama Shakes, and Black keys lately.I haven't been reading much, but history is a new interest that Audible is helping me pursue in style. As for games, I have just started the Adventure to Fate series, mainly because it looked so complicated and I wanted to force myself to learn something after the brain fog of the summer. It took me a bit of time, but now that I understand the sys
tem, these games are great fun. They fill my game wishes well, for a huge world to explore, treasure to find, and items to craft.Last night, because I couldn't sleep, I started Zombie Exodus, and it is the most realistic IF I've ever played! When you get into a game like this one, you really see the potential for interactive fiction!Timecrest has also become a new favorite, because of their unique twist on IF.  First, you have no idea what's going on in the world, so you keep playing in an attempt to unravel the mysteries, but every time you make a choice, more questions come up. Then, the game has a realistic feel, because at certain points in the story, the game makes you wait to continue, as if Ash, the hero, is busy doing something else. The soundtrack is great too.I also played Q9 and became fascinated with side scrollers. Finally, I downloaded the Blastbay Games tool kit. No idea if any game development will come from it, but I do lov
e to learn new things, so we shall see.All of that, plus freelance writing, is keeping me occupied, and I am happy to be so after the down time that pretty much usurped my entire summer.Wishing everyone else good times and great games.

Oh huh, I never noticed that torch penalized stats. Blah. Granted, 5 or 6 points at high levels is so minimal you'll hardly notice, compared to the coverage gained by being able to use a flame move when you're not supposed to. Probably not as useful for flame types themselves, just work with what they already have, unless they truly don't learn anything good. Even Tylavile can be trained in attack for Blaze Rampage, or use Flame Blizzard, accuracy notwithstanding. Also guys, Paladore line now learns Power Punch. Thank you Aaron for doing that. It's still the weaker of his types, but it's usable, which is all I was after. I get that his main thing is White Lance, occasionally messing things up with Daring Comeback and Restrain. But having only a 30 power move for one of his types just felt... wrong. Glad that's been addressed. Also, Manja line now learns Stone Fist normally, without an unknown gift. Blind Rush also looks like it might have b
een buffed, although that could just be my memory being faulty, but I seem to remember it being worse than 60 accuracy 130 power, and I don't remember the bit in the description about it having both a high critical hit ratio and the chance to make the foe recoil. Either way, now it's the ultimate in gamble moves, it' still misses a lot, but if it hits, ow that's going to hurt. I'd be scared to fight this thing after an optical potion or two.Whoops, I think I might have found a typo? So I was bored and sorting my Manapedia by height and weight, and noticed something a bit odd. Past all of the whales and giants and trees and dragons and stuff you generally expect to be tall, the tallest of which is about 7 metres tall, we have... Fiendour, at 125.6 metres tall. Somehow I doubt that was intentional.

Yes, unbelievable as it might be, we have yet more! site updates for you today. You might think this is because we've been working extremely hard to update the database with links from the very awesome Audio archive site. However you'd be wrong, it's actually due to a new program we've adopted with the Agnet Cyber elves. No, it doesn't involve either death, torture or threats of being fed to the grue. It does however involve coffee, lots and lots of coffee, plus of course large servings of death, torture, and threats of being fed to the Grue, though I'm not really sure if all that coffee is good for grues or not. Either way, people should enjoy this period of enforced productivity (enforced with extreme prejudice!), since it is letting us get a surprising amount of good stuff done, now excuse me, methinks I hear a Grue with the shakes!        Updates by dark: Fixed homepage link

Re: Is there a way to in able or bypass intel vtx on vmwhere player?

Your bios needs to support this, or have it enabled. You unfortunately need  sighted help to access your system bios. With that help, look for intel vt. Most likely it'll be under advanced. If it isn't in your bios, you're out of luck. If it is, and it just isn't enabled, enable it. If what your aiming for is running mac in a virtual machine, you really should make sure that your system at least has 8gb of ram, so that you can give mac 4gb of ram. Any less and you would be lucky if you got a response from voiceover a second after hitting a key. Besides, you won't be getting the full true mac osx experience, because you're not running a licensed copy of mac osx. So apps like the Apple essentials, even the app store, will not be usable. You'd honestly be better off buying a mac if you really want a real mac experience. If you however want to use Macintalk voices with nvda, that is fine, however you still should make sure your system has suffic
ient resources to run a mac vm, as any stuttering or audio latency from the vm will affect your use of nvda.

Monthly chat September 2016

Monthly chat September 2016

Yes, another month, another Monthly chat topic. For those who don't know, this is the place where you can generally wag your chin about anything and everything. Life love and the pursuit of happiness, liberty fraternity and equality, or just what your playing, reading, listening to or watching currently, along with anything fun or not so fun you might be up to.As usual, I get to go first, which is an unfair system I know, but there's not much I can do to change it, besides it's only unfair to people who are not! me so why would I! want to change it? That's the very bed rock of the principle on which most of society functions after all. Oooh dear, synicism synicism! For me, Well my so called "Quiet few days post music school and weddings and visas " sort of failed due to John posting the audiogames archive, and me now having to go through the database with a fine tooth comb and do huge amounts of updating (for the first lot see
the news room). Indeed this might be why I utterly forgot the date and why this topic is a trifle later than it should be, since it's hard to remember times when your copying links like a demon, or at least like a miner under imp to the sub assistant demon of soul tormenting . It's waay more work than I expected, but I think the knock on effect will be well worth the trouble, it'll be good for people to know what the "knight of parasite" title is referring to and be able to download the full game. Other than that, I've tried to slightly take it easy. We did go out for lunch with a couple of friends of mine and their two year old son. They're the same friends who used to run the tabletop rp group I played with for such a long while, and they're organizing a weekend 7th sea game for October which will be cool, then again lunc
h was a little whacky owing to said child, he's definitely in the terrrible two's phase, though having a mother who is a doctor of archaeology and runs all over the world to conferences and teach goodness knows anywhere can't make for a precisely settled life style. I've also startede Mistborn by Brandon Sanderson.  Thus far I've only read the series up as far as Aloy of law, and I read those four or five years ago, so I'm starting with the beginning and intend to read the currently six volumes to be up to speed when the last book comes out later on. Definitely a good series, though ironically I remember comparatively little of the events before rereading so it's almost like reading for the first time, still that probably means less book reviews over all.

If however you write up a new topic specifically for people to make old game requests of the archive, I'll stick it in general game discussion to make finding it easier.

lays siege to Punish's base of operation (and trashes some more buildings along the way). When the Hero finally reaches Punish, the mastermind goes on a rant about cleaning up all the bothersome things in the world, and somehow works from "flies are annoying" to "computers are better than people, therefore computers should control and/or disassemble all the people". (The Hero finds the use of flies as an example rather confusing.)Punish considered the idea of using a Chip of Mystery to control the Hero, but concluded that it wouldn't work on someone with a spirit like that, so he clones the Hero instead! But, naturally, the Hero beats up the clones, wipes out Punish's machines and monsters, and destroys his Mother Computer.Punish freaks out ("I AM ADMINISTRATOR OF THE WORLD!") and summons the Search and Destruction Robot 2.0, then sets the base to self destruct in 5 minutes. When the Hero defeats the SAD, hecatc
hes up with Punish before he can escape, and pulls a Chip of Mystery out of him. Surprise! At some point, the robots he was working on put a chip in him, or something like that, and he wasn't really a crazy megalomaniac after all! He was really just an engineer named Charles, who was trying to develop extra-powerful machines and software to improve the world. The Hero invites Charles to join his ever-growing community of ex-bosses, gets elected mayor of Crystal City, and they all live happily ever after. If by "ever after" you mean until the PEACE organization declares the Hero "True Devil" and starts blowing things up. But there's an English version to explain that episode.

We got into a fight over Facebook about me flirting with her, and I am sorry for that. I am happy for her that she is happy but at the same time I'm also sad.

Re: Girl I love

I would also ask, what does this girl feel for you?You cannot love someone without knowing them. You can get a vague impression that they are kind, or clever or witty, and of course physical attractiveness is a variable thing, however you cannot really "love!" in the deeply intimate sence someone who isn't at least a friend. You can feel attraction or infatuation, or indeed various not so good things like obsession, jealousy etc, but "love" requires far more knolidge than is usually possible unless you've spent time with someone. If the person is a friend whom you know and what you feel is! love, then first and formost you should be glad she is happy, since a major part of truly loving someone is wanting their happiness above your own.Yes, seeing the person you love with someone else, especially when you've not known the sensation of being loved by anyone hurts, a great deal, and can be extremely painful and bad for your l
ife generally, but even in that case if you actually love the person, rather than just wanting to possess them  your emotion should be focused on their feelings not yourself.Certainly regret! that you haven't known being loved, but if you can't at least muster any feelings of happiness for this girl or desire that she has a good life, I'd question whether what your feeling is love.

Re: BK1 and BK2 plot

BK2:The Hero is enjoying a meal with his three friends/nakamas/roommates, Yokutanku and Yamijin, when a gang of Brat Boys bursts in to attack. None of the Hero's weapons from BK1 are on hand (and the Brat Boys ultimately steal most of them), so all he has to fight with is a weak plastic club that takes several hits to break toy cars... so someone (I don't remember if it was Yokutanku or Yamijin...) summons a slime to help the Hero fight them off.(The remainder of stage 1 is cleaning up the mess that this fight caused and serving the meal.)Since the Brat Boys were up to no good and did... something, the Hero sets out to see what they're up to and shoe them from Crystal City once again. (Only the hammer and Pachinko slingshot were not stolen from the Hero's arsenal, which is why they become your weapons after 1-1).(And a ton of slimes acid a hole in some guy's house, but he just stands around watching the Hero fight them off, because
the pachinko slingshot looks cool. And thus, he receives the name of Pachinko Mania. You may recognize him from BK3 telling the Hero that he is considering running for Mayor.)The Hero eventually corners a group of Brat Boys and takes a silver key from their leader, and mysterious chips from some of the stronger ones. The Hero is now very confused, but there's no time for that, because a sudden outbreak of monsters and Brat Boy attacks is causing trouble in the city! Mostly because there's an enemy generator in the park. And a couple more elsewhere.I don't... actually remember why the Hero goes to Heyer City. ... I'm good at forgetting that particular detail, apparently. But in Heyer City, the Hero witnesses someone with a gun come in and take a plaza full of people prisoner. Some gunfire and rockets later, they and the Hero are taken to a prison somewhere.(There are no cutscenes for most of this section . We can assume that the Hero isn't exactly captured so much as brought in by a hostage gambit? But that the Hero is definitely breaking out of the prison, not breaking in to rescue people?)The prison is guarded by big robots. After breaking lots of them, releasing lots of people, finding lots of keys, and carefully leading all the prisoners safely outside, the Hero is totally sick of this stuff and follows a lead somewhere. But decides to take a detour through the forest (Megabird is not pleased). The Hero finds a strange base deep in the forest, guarded by the same sorts of robots from the prison. The Hero fails to avoid setting off the security alarm, but fights his way inside anyway, and discovers a room full of mysterious chips like those found on defeated Brat Boys. There's also a machine, which displays the names of various monsters when the Hero inserts the chips into it. The Hero tries to ac
tivate/take the hardware, only to be attacked by a Death Robot. After defeating it and taking its stuff (didn't it drop a pistol? I think it dropped a pistol.), the Hero heads back to Crystal City to regroup with the others. But when he arrives, he finds his home swarming with an army of Brat Boys. Lots and lots of Brat Boys. After a long and grueling battle, the Hero is the only one left standing. From the shadows, one Ultra Brat Boy who did not join the fighting reveals himself, and explains that the Brat Boys were originally hunter-gatherer types who lived in the mountains, until Yokutanku's food monopoly plot forced them into the cities. Hunger and Culture Clash did the rest, and thus began the conflict. Having seen the Hero's action and character, and realizing that some of his companions are being manipulated by the mysterious chips, this Ultra Brat Boy (Killer, I think is his name?) decided to wait and see how things played out, and finally to help th
e Hero put an end to this destructive conflict.(And it turns out that the Hero arrived just in time for his housemates to survive the attack. )(Only not even halfway through, but must finish later.)

It might be categorized as following: Food: Includes your food, whether it's raw, gutted or captured. As well as other meats that you gather.Weapons: Includes all your weapons which you have, such as shutgun, revolver and shells. As well as bullets and shields, hehe. Don't want to forget the deadly lovely grenade. And so metal arrows. Arrows, Crossbow, bow and all known weapons that we have. You might also want to pu
t general category, which includes everything, or name a specific category for such items, papers, coins, strings, and so on. You might name it tools to put strings, papers, pen, coins, branches and woods, skillets, spits and other things like that. You might also want to put a category that includes quests items. You can organize it on your way that you want. The thing I suggest that because, even if you use letter navigation, it won't benefit you. Especially if you use another language file of STW: And you try to press "D" inside your inventory, you get for example conejo muerto if you've chosen Spanish. Although it's with "C" but it's following the English navigation rule I guess.Once we choosed a category, we will stay at the last chosen category even if we closed our inventory and opened it again. So that would make our way more easier than searching for something for a long time, or move it to top. Still works. And it also cha
nges the deffault normal style of this inventory that we have, we might need to have an option to select normal inventory style or new one.Thanking in anticipation. Coco!I think that's a great idea. Because currently with everything mix up, the inventory is very messy.

Re: BK1 and BK2 plot

BK1:The hero has a dream about a great famine.Surprise! There really is a famine! Food is disappearing, and as the hero goes out to see what's up, he discovers that this has a lot to do with it being stolen and hoarded, most notably thanks to the Brat Boys / Gakishounen. In the park, the hero runs into Yamijin, who comes onto the scene by means of gleefully attacking a group of children with a sword. I don't remember exactly what happens next... it ends up that there's a race, the hero saves some people from Brat Boys holding up in their homes, and then a manhole has something to do with accessing Yamijin's laboratory... I didn't quite understand if this was because it's in the sewer system or some such, or if at some point the Hero got a hold of one of Yamijin's warp panels. In any case, the Hero gets a little information and rescues a child who was lost in there. Their escape is kinda hilarious but I only remember it having to do with red water and the child finding it amusing while the hero screamed a lot.The Hero returns home and... I don't remember the order of events, exactly. There's a warp panel in the trash, or we recovered a warp panel... I don't remember .But it turns out that Yamijin captured and brainwashed the hero's friends, who beat him up when he finds them. He manages to knock some sense into one of them, they fight some Grand/ground cruisers and escape again.Something at this point convinces the Hero to go look for Yamijin's other hideout (I don't remember which information he gets when... I think we read Yamijin's email conversation with Yokutanku by this point). This involves going through Heyer City. I don't remember much plot happening here (maybe there was a Super Brat Boy somewhere? Someone might have said something about a break-in at a museum?); it's mostly full of NPC conversations and minigames and the Department store. When the Hero tries to leave Heyer City through the northeast gate, he encounters Megazaurus, a clone of a terribly powerful dinosaur-type thing. When he finally manages to defeat it, in its last breaths, it recognizes the Hero as a worthy foe and gives him the key to Yamijin's house. (Yamijin is very upset. Megazaurus was kinda his Trumpcard.)The Hero eventually finds the way in, but Yamijin has long-since run for it, so he just steals some hardware and reads some information. We definitely know about Yokutanku at this point, and that he's the true mastermind behind the famine. And he expresses interest in eating the Hero after some of Yamijin's emails. The Hero heads out the back and winds up at Flame Town, which is in a state of misery as several Super Brat Boys plunder with impunity and everyone is starving. So, the Hero does what he does best and beats up all the Gakishounen, receives thanks and aid from the citizens of Flame Town, and heads up the mountains... I did not get the impression that we knew why at this point, but I might have not been paying attention or missed a conversation or something. (It will be clear later?)At the top of the mountain, the Hero fights a Death Robot, and may or may not retrieve something useful from its remains. The Hero eventually finds the house of some guy who BK2 will refer to as Analysis Bastard (until he complains and it changes to Analysis Maniac), who prepares to analyze the stuff that the Hero retrieved so far. An Ultra Brat Boy comes in at this point, but the Hero sends him running away crying. With that done, the Analysis Bastard figures out how to make a warp panel out of what the Hero brought, and it leads to Yokutanku's fortress! The Hero arrives and is immediately attacked by Yamijin. After the fight, the player is given the choice as to whether or not to finish him off. BK2 and 3 more than imply that the canonical version is that he let Yamijin live.Now... I kinda... haven't actually finished BK1. There are a variety of challenges in the fortress, and the Hero eventually encounters a querky mini boss squad who apparently die or go into exile or something, since they are never referred to in BK2/3. (Kisenon isn't that difficult! The AI is very predictable and his KillingYouBeam takes forever to charge! ... But I still keep doing something careless and haven't actually beat him. )All I'm really sure about is that the eventual boss fight against Yokutanku ends with the fortress collapsing. If you spared Yamijin, he'll swoop in and rescue you both. Otherwise, you probably die in the collapse. Since I haven't beaten it, I don't actually know how this resolves the conflict, but presumably Yokutanku is compelled by the Shounen Spirit™ to stop this food monopoly thing, since BK2 opens with him at the Hero's house raiding his fridge and this is played for laughs.

And so it is with most of the equipment in the game. A bonus to one stat with an equal penalty to its counterpart. Like that shield or cloak or whatever it is that gives you 50% gain to speed in exchange for a net loss of 100% spread out over both defense stats and both attack stats. I'm guessing there aren't too many people tripping over themselves to get that. It seems like there are far too many of these.

I also press the top left button on the touch screen to show or hear wich characters are which. And when I find the character that's being attacked, I trace every square around that character in order to find the enemy. For enemies there is a sharp click sound when you press a over them. And to attack the enemy you locate them and you press a in order to attack.

True, but I can not cut any off that is under System services. I do got wi-fi assist turned off too. I also went and turn off ICloud drive syncing over cellular and just about anything else I could find that I didn't want going over the cell network. The only thing I could not get turn off at this time was exchanged accounts under System services. Don't know why that is on when I turned off mail. I turn off mail because I know I can weight until I am getting where I am going before I get mail, but no, the phone has to treet exchange accounts differently in this way. Anyway, it looks like everything else under there is small enough to not really be that worried about at this time. This really does look like the case of apple thinking they know better. On the other hand, the phone seems to be working mostly right for me.

Well, if you want a good open-ear experience, the Trekz would be the way to go. No competing product does better, and the Trekz are the newest model of After shokz. And, unlike the blues2s, they use a flexible but sturdy titanium frame instead of the more flimsy plastic. There is also a mini available if your head is small. If you're not sure, and you do end up buying the wrong one, no worries, there's a 2 year warranty on them. Even so, if you buy them from Amazon you could also just refund through them, too. Then you can buy the right pair.

Re: Audiogame Jam Announcement

Hi.Well I viewed the audiogame jam. Here is what I got out of it.12 entries. Most of them were  64 bit only.Yes  I have a 64 bit machine, no its not mine, no I  am not going to run demos on it.2.  one of the games countdown had a  trogen in it said msse.No I am not going to play it, it may be  false but again its just a audio demo and I won't keep it  and it could always be not false.3.  twinkle, didn't want to do anything.4.  the rest of them1 of them didn't have a download link another only had an online play link which didn't seem to work in firefox, and the rest just sucked.Yeah nice demos, but total crap.I know this was short but compaired to our other things, they really are not hmmm going to work.Lets move on from this topic with all the crappy games in it.I'd have a better outlook if1.  the 64 bit games had x86
executables in it or were actually worth playing on x64.2.  the twinkle game actually worked and said something on starting.3.  the countdown game was actually safe to run.I don't usually rate something like this crap off the cuff but this didn't even waste like a minute of my time.Lets see.99% of these games are 64 bit, meaning a lot of us on older systems are just automatically excluded. One of them was a trogen, I could have told msse to fuck off and shut up but there is always the chance it is actually saying it is and I had never seen that trogen appear on my system so why bother.3 of them, had other issues.1, had no download link.1 of them was only a soundtrack and had no download and the other simply didn't have a download at all.I have noticed though most if not all were unity based. And the one or so I did play were just not engaging my brain. One was an arcade game with a lot of b
eeps in it and another was click the left and right mouse button to do things. The plot sucked and it may be a kids game but not really usefull.I guess if you were one of those poor helpless blind people that are all over the place according to sightlings this would be nice. However we gamers some of us hardcore are not the poor helpless kind though we are blind. So as a result, this jam was nice as an idea, but um try harder please?Or maybe just don't even bother if this is all that can be out I don't know.Does anyone else that turned off their antivirus software and tried it on an x64 bit unit agree with me.I could be right off my microchips because I am the only poster and the comp should be finnished by now.

I agree with you. I can point out similaraties in many games, especially in the 8 and 16 bit era. for example, elecman's theme from the first mega man reminds me a lot of journey's "don't stop belivin", the name entry music in rainbow islands reminnnds me a lot of "everyone is special" from barney (the last line of the chorus at least) and the moon cresta theme sounded a bit like ride of the valcories when I heard it, though on closer listening it sounded more like the theme from galaxian.

Hi everyone, sorry its been so long since I've last posted. However I need to let you all know the problem I've now got. I still have no Internet access via computer, but what's even worse, is that the computer I was using to write my games, has now crashed. The power supply I think he's gone down because it will no longer start, however I am hoping that at some point I'll be able to get the code off of the drive, and I'll work on it with a new computer that I will be getting soon. If you have  any comments, or if you saw the original that I made, of the elementals tournament please post here, I will let you know however when I am ready to upload the elementals tournament, I will be posting a brand-new topic here so I won't be posting links to it in this one. Thanks so much and thank you for your  patients.

OK, I shall check that too. Also, another point I thought would be worth mentionning is that, when I hear a track that reminds me of something I heard before, I end up liking it instead of dispizing it because of it's similarities, maybe it's because of nostalgia. For example:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oaiXR1gcHogWhen I found out that this song reminded me of "Auld Lang Syne", I replayed it many times and I still like it a lot today.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1-XpHoJ3CDkNot quite as obvious in my opinion, but this one reminds me of an old song called "those were the days", the chorus of that song, that is. And I also replayed it a lot, even though the loop is so short.I guess it's better like that. I think those tracks are beautiful anyway.

Hmmm. You must have had a powercut or something.1.  go to the  time and date in control panel.check that the date is right, the  time is right and the timezone is right. After that go to thinkman.com and get dimention  4.then install that and sync and see.I had this during a cut ages  ago and I had  to resync my time, and then do a few  other things. If this happens a lot to you get a ups and hook your router to that,  its saved my bacon a lot of times now.

Re: JfW Hangman?

I was under the impression that screen reader API's didn't have a way to let the application know when they were finished speaking, whereas SAPI does. This becomes important when you need to speak some text, then do something else only after you know the speech has finished. A good example back in the day was Entombed. When using Jaws, during a battle, the moves would fly by, while the speech describing what was going on lagged hopelessly behind. Whereas, when using a SAPI voice, the game could wait for one move and its outcome to finish speaking before proceeding to the next.

Re: `Cosmic Rage, an all new, all awesome Space MOO from Nathan Tech!

Good evening folksOk question 1, why the ip? because I've not set up DNS yet.Question 2: the soundpack, talk to erra about that one.question 3: good Idea on the connection info thingfinally:There are many new changes and announcements on cosmic rage, but here are my personal favorites: [announcement] from SDF Five-Star General Kayla Maryanne: hi folks! I am proud to bring yu, after much blood, sweat and a lot of swearing, our new ship saving system! Got a custom ship or normal ship? got nice descs and a sweet defense upgrade? don't want to loose it? not a problem! In this sweet saving system you have the ability to haul your ship onto the docks and save it, then when the ship gets blown up by some nasty host, ahem I mean vacus, totally... vacus, you can reconstruct it back to the stats of your last save! I've not quite got all the upgrades in yet, but things like damage, defense, warp, speed, subatomic, jump range, shields, microdrones, rooms, descs, all that, they're all saved. The reconstruction is done using resources supplied to a factory by the local galactic union, be that SDF or for you bunch of outlaws, vacus. The commands are as follows and should all be excecuted from the dry docks: save SDF Supreme Commander Nathan Smith: hi folks. not sure how much this will break things in the long term, but I have taken out the old starship frame. There are now 4 different starship frames, small, medium. large and huge. The small frame has 25 rooms, medium=50, large=75, huge=100. They obviously vary in resource requirements, too. Enjoy SDF Supreme Commander Nathan Smith: hi folks! enspired by a conversation earlier, you can now set your birthday! by setting your out of character birthday, you entitle ourself to a free donator item of up to £15 on your special day! You can only set your birthday once, so do it right! Type birthday to set it up. SDF Supreme Commander Nathan Smith: hello folks. I have added two new policies to our list, the metagaming and Ic/OOC policy. These can both be found under the OOC section and I advise you familiarise yourself with them. Thank you.SDF Four Star General Brandon Red Designation: added a few rentable stores on panaxes enjoy guysSDF Supreme Commander Nathan Smith: hello folks! i bring you, a cool new report method! You know how sometimes you get a tracebacks and you're like... what do I say. I got a traceback. Then later on some host goes hey, I'm sorry but I couldn't generate that bug? well! worry yourself no more! When you cause a traceback, you get given the message, sorry, but your command bla bla bla. Well now, at the end of that, is a traceback number. 1, for example. When reporting, if you want to include the traceback in your report, which I highly recommend, when prompted answer yes, and type in that ID number. The moo will then attach your traceback and the bug will be fixed. thank you so much for your continued reports, and I look forward to bug ssquishing with you!some changes:collect can no longer be used on access tubes, but now on garages and hangars SDF Supreme Commander Nathan Smithfixed a bug with following people about SDF Supreme Commander Nathan Smithfixed a bug with the fill-tank command SDF Supreme Commander Nathan Smithyou can no longer power down during transfer SDF Supreme Commander Nathan Smithfixed a bug with the birthday command  SDF Supreme Commander Nathan Smithput in some safeguards that may or may not stop random tb's with salvaging. i think I know what the issue was... but meh SDF Supreme Commander Nathan Smithfixed so that: 1. Accents work nicely on the private networks. 2. Emotes, with the *emote* syntax, work nicely, and 3. You can now type pn message, to talk on the private network rather than speak x into radio/earpiece SDF Supreme Commander Nathan Smithfixed a typo with the stralenites airlock SDF Supreme Commander Nathan Smithyou shouldnt be able to shoot factories now unless their owner puts them in war mode... no garantees though SDF Supreme Commander Nathan Smithmade the out of oxygen message a bit clearer  SDF Supreme Commander Nathan Smithyou should be able to view weapons when the ship is undocked or on green alert now SDF Supreme Commander Nathan SmithThese are of course not all the changes, and I am continually working on the moo.I took the advice of an earlier poster, and have made bug fixing my top priority. Thanks muchly

Re: 2D Platformer 4.0

yeah the travel door doesn't stop the loop anymore, like, once you get through it and it drops you off. Also I do have some suggestions.1. instead of a remove menu, how about instead a view menu where you can see all of your constructs, such as walls platforms, etc, with left x, right X min Y and max Y because my short term memory is shit and I always forget that kind of thing. Plus, you can interact on a thing like that giving you the option to remove it, or maybe reset it's dimensions.2. The ability to remove sections of platforms, making basically a hole, this would include the ground level so you can make things like a pool under the ground, this is possible now, but I think it could be better if you could make holes in platforms.3. if you reset the start coords for a map, it would be nice if the game plopped you at them once you hit enter on it.4. a device that can move horizontally, I know we already have the lift, but imagine if you could r
ide a moving platform over lava or water hazard.5. the ability to build walls symetrically, just ask for a difference, like 20, and it would build a second wall 20 away from the first.6. more increased pain sounds the faller you fall. I know you can get different sounds, but I think its random, and not really associated with the actual distance you fall, I could be wrong though.Well, I know these might not all be viable but some of them would be cool to see done.

Hey Ishan, thanks for the warm welcome! We will be using TTS for a lot of the feedback. Stuff like navigating menus and checking how much ammo or health you have left will be dictated to you through TTS. That said we will have a small introductory sequence where there will be a voice over to give some exposition on the 'story' of the game. We're really focusing on game play here though, so don't expect to hear anything that sounds like Ridley Scott wrote it haha.

Hadean Lands and BLue Lacuna had a baby, WorldSmith (Advanced IF)

Hi everyone,Introducing WorldSmith, the, in my opinion, most advanced Interactive Fiction game since Hadean Lands. The amount of lore and reading material in this freakin' game is insane, perhaps rivaling that of Infocom games. If you follow video games, the closest comparison I could make to would be Spore. Spore, with a story and plot. Creating worlds in this game is like creating a recipe of sorts. You poor ingrediants into what I'd call a caldron, and this game calls it... something else to make it seem unique to its world. Most of these names were procederally generated.Anyhow, I have only just completed the tutorial and just got a glimpse into the story of this game. The one serious problem I am having right now is that when I read the book on the elements and things and use the browse command, of which after the tutorial are all hyperlinked, it says "You open the great book" without any links. So yeah. Try it out and discuss here. It
9;s not advanced in the form of puzzles and the like, but knowing what goes together to create interesting worlds and, more importantly, the looking at the environment of it and figuring out what life to create on it is what boggles the mind for hours. To check out the demo--this is commercial IF, it is at:https://interactivefables.itch.io/worldsmith-online

Re: JfW Hangman?

I think a lot of people would find such a project useful (I know I would). There's literarly no reason for you to use the JFW api directly over Tolk, as from the programming point of view they work exactly the same way (load the library and call the say or say and braille functions), Tolk just does the detection and calling the right Screen Reader for you behind the scenes. As for JFW hangman, I don't think I have it. Even if I did it was written back in 2003 with JAWS 5 in mind. And even though the way the JFWAPI library functions hasn't changed much since then, the function names did so you wouldn't find the source very useful now. In fact, I doubt you will find many projects targetting JAWS specificaly now as everyone is either using Tolk or accessible output  which is the python equivllent, but they may ironically be your best bet in finding usable example code as they are both open-source projects.

System services under cellular has caught my eye. I am on Wi-Fi a lot, so I am hoping that I will not go over my data cap. As you can see, I don’t like seeing data just flying out the window when I am out of Wi-Fi range and not doing anything with the data. Guess I could turn off the data when ever I am not using it, but that gets rid of visual voice mail until I turn data back on.

After the one for JAWS is done, I may consider making a similar bridge for NVDA. But since I'm a JAWS user, it gets priority.
