I feel like there's a lot of misunderstanding happening here.First off, the over-the-top sarcasm doesn't work. I don't want everything handed to me. I am generally happy to grind a job till I get better abilities. I don't need to be spoon-fed, not by any stretch. As someone who actually enjoys quests myself, I would take it amiss if someone just blew through my area. Of course I would.But you know what I'd like even less? Players leaving because info is gatekept arbitrarily. I would rather give them hints, or guide them very, very slightly, than lose them altogether. If they get a little help and reach the end, but do most of the work themselves, I'd be totally fine with that. Frankly, I care more about the big picture than about my own ideas of how you should play the game.Listen, once you build that area and release it - and yes, I have built plenty on different games over the years, albeit not on MUDs specifically - your rights essentially end. The very act of submitting an area to go live states implicitly that you are turning it over for your players to enjoy. This means that your opinion essentially gets left at the door, at least as a tool for measurement. Oh yes, you have every right to get salty if someone tosses a bunch of your hard work out the window, but that does not, in my eyes at least, entitle you to just say "no, it's not allowed to discuss any aspect of quest info in this mud, period, because I want everyone to have the same experience I intended". Where does anyone get off telling me, or anyone else, how to game? That is simply not appropriate, and speaks to the elitism I spoke about previously. Players who want to experience the story just as you intended will do so. Players who need a nudge, in my opinion, should be able to ask in general non-spoilery tems, and if a player chooses to help out the struggling person quietly and without just putting a wrecking-ball to the content in question, I say what the heck is wrong with that? Why is it, exactly, that we are prioritizing the hard work of builders over the time spent by those who play? People often say that without a builder's hard work, there's no game. Quite true. But guess what? Without players, you have a game with nobody to play it. Which is more sad to you?I want to point out, second of all here, that my opinions are being stated as a player of the MUD. I do not have to extend any especial professionalism, or withhold critical opinion, just because I'm staff. Now if I was spreading lies and slander, or roundly abusing their admin, or talking about how I cheat or some such? Then yeah, you have a point. But I'm bringing up a legitimate problem I have, and whether you agree or not is irrelevant. I have a right to state it, and to defend it, and that's what I'm doing.Last point for now: there are actually a lot of aspects of this game that I like. I love missions, for instance (well, most of them), and I like that the jobs are being better balanced. Some still need work, but this is a question of slow progress and I can definitely be patient. The reason I might have seemed demanding about qinfo is because as far as the change goes, it takes no code tweaks, no changes to anything related to the quests themselves; all they'd have to do is post an update saying that qinfo is still to be kept quiet, but that it is acceptable to ask for general hints if you're really stuck, or to provide said hints in private. This would take, what, five minutes? I say do it already, but we've beaten that to death. Anyway, good points. I hear the militia has been resurrected, and that's awesome. I like that I can dive into games I thoroughly enjoyed as a young teenager. I feel a lot of effort has gone into the general quality of most areas; typos are rare and details are good. There's a lot of content that opens up when you become legend, and while I'd like to see a little more of that open up at, say, level 50, I like the overall concept. There are issues I don't like, but this is by no means a terrible MUD. I've never said it was. It is only frustrating and a bit archaic in some ways. Why else do you think I still keep tabs on it? I'm actually really picky about the MUDs I play, and this isn't one I've given up on. Let that sink in. I'm not just here to trash the game, and it is intellectually bankrupt to dismiss my opinions thus.

Audio description  speedgaming races

So my friend RKCTKC participates in speed gaming races of Zelda randomizers, and when I ca, I listen to the streams to hear how things are going.  There are times I can follow the gameplay by the descriptions given by the commentators or hosts of the original tournament.  However I was unable to follow some of the gameplay and sometimes it was not understandable.  So he posted about makig better commentary for the visually impaired/blind followers.  Oe of the admins said it would be too much, and immediately got a backlashing from many others in the community who would also like described content for those who want to listen in but have to drive,  so some of the  people have decieed they would take a shot at practicing to do audio description for speed gaming races.  My friend did a test run of it today while racing  and I was able to follow him a bit to see what he was doing.  He was not distracted, for he came in first place still.    He never tried it, but it was still enjoyable.t's nice to know the community, although strangely,  shows some  interest, even if minor.

stuck on episode 1 of code 7

Hi,I'm currently trying to get in to V Garens and vittallys computer. When I tried to get to vittallys  I didn't have  enough words for the brute force, but when I try to do man in the middle on V Garrens I always get spotted either before I deploy the man in the middle or after.I still can't figure how man in the middle works.  I tried the science dome first and kept getting zapped by the light barrior so then I went to the canteen and hear we are now with me trying to get in to the computer

Basically, when you add a reference in package manager, vs attaches it with the full name and version, so that, when another person wants to compile your project, the correct package will be downloaded whithout leting you scruing the building process just because you fergot to specififying a version number in a requirements.txt the way pip does.

@44The use of the from statement extensively is really discouraged because it could cause circular dependency in the long run.And as long as you provide a requirements.txt file, unless the dependency in question has been removed you should not run in any issues.Besides, when you install a package from pip, it usually collects it's dependencies too.the AttributeError you're mentioning is not the interpreter's fault. You have to debug and find out what's going on.I could then say that if you miss a dependency from a c# project the compiler will bitch about it.If you even miss a reference to an assembly you'll go boom anyway. I'm sorry but I can't really take your point as valid. Of course the project is yours and you do whatever you want with it, but I've just given my point of view.

@44, that point is kinda irrelevant. Whether the Python executable just calls functions from python37.dll or fully embeds the interpreter doesn't matter; node.JS does the same thing with V8 and so does your web browser -- and JS was definitely not designed to be embedded in non-web browser applications, which is what gave rise to so many JS interpreters. Both can be embeddable; sometimes though embedding is absolutely pointless.

The tracert command should give you IP addresses with each hop. If you see more than one private IP address, it probably means you're experiencing at least double NAT.The other issue might be Windows Firewall. Make sure the TeamTalk server program is allowed through that firewall as well. Aside from that, I'm out of ideas. I'm by no means an advanced network expert, and this is all I know thus far. Does anyone else have any other ideas?

It's officially just been confirmed that port forwards are indeed working, it must be me who's at fault here. I have BT sync running on this machine and for some reason it puts UPNP entries in my router if UPNP is enabled. I then went to check the UPNP mappings in my router, then put one of the port mappings to canyouseeme.org, and boom!Success: I can see your service on **.***.***.*** on port (59711)Your ISP is not blocking port 59711If I create a virtual server, and let's take the teamtalk server as an example, and the teamtalk server is running. I put 10333 to the LAN and WAN port ranges because teamtalk just needs 1 port really, tell it both TCP and UDP, and then tell it the IP address of my computer, currently 192.168.100.17. When I go to a port testing site like canyouseeme.org and put 10333 to the port to test, I get an error, saying it was unable to see my service and the connection timed out.I tried the tracert command with the ip 8.8.8.8, but I just got something about the duration it took for data to go across the many hops, nothing about NAT or private / public IP addresses.

O yeah, I really do like it when something in a room description pops out at me and I can actually look at it and see that it has it's own description, and even occasionally be rewarded for bothering to check. Plenty other muds do this, but I dont see them get as much hate for it, and some do it so rarely that people have to be told its there when they actually do add in extra descs. Uossmud just happens to be one of those places that takes pride in its room descriptions, and as an aspiring author, I can respect that. For proof, just look at chocographs and endurance raids. Those are things you aren't really going to succeed at unless you pay attention to your surroundings,.

From what I understand, DMZ puts whatever device you allow outside of the firewall, so that it's open to the Internet. If you have double NAT, you will need to forward the ports in your router and then put your router in the DMZ of the other router that faces the Internet so that traffic can come from the Internet, hit the first router firewall, go through it, and then go through the second firewall and finally reach your computer. If you're using a cellular network, I have no idea. I thought the ISP controlled the NAT on their side, which would prevent you from letting things from the outside Internet communicate with services you host on your internal network.Have you tried the tracert command? What information do you get? It should be able to tell you if you're using more than one layer of NAT.

When it comes to the question of qinfo, I'm coming at this as someone who's been staff on a MUD. Someone who's spent shit loads of time building an area from nothing, spending massive amounts of time filling that area with little details to enrich the quest lines that will run through that area, so it's not just a kill 50 goblins to win experience.Some builders are perfectly happy cranking out areas that you just breeze through, get teh epic lootz and never come back to again. It's a box to tick off, you don't pay attention to the room descriptions, you don't care about the back story or anything like that.I've always been the type that really wants the player to care about the journey as well, not just the shiny shit at the end.That means you'll have to read room descriptions in my zones, you'll have to find hidden documents, listen in on conversations, sometimes go through flashback sequences and generally interact with the surrounding area beyond murder fucking everything and unlock a door at the end. More importantly? I'd really like it if every player that comes through the stuff I build to have that same feeling of discovery, that holy shit moment when they figure out the puzzle and are able to progress.Every builder is going to have their own artistic vision of how they want their content to turn out, it's our only chance to take you on a journey that is a little different from the normal smash shit and gain power  cycle that everyone is used to.So if someone spent 6 months sweating over an extremely detailed zone, spends further time scripting and playtesting it to make sure it's the best that it can be and at the end turns around and asks that no one spoils it for anyone else, I'd have to respect the hell out of that.It's an incredibly shit feeling watching someone who's obviously following a guide just shoot through something you've sweated over and they'll usually have the Gaul to make passive aggressive comments afterwards about how hard you made it for them to tick their tick box.I've seen players that are terrible with quests that just so happen to be best in class when it comes to other aspects of gameplay. They may be PK demons, or fantastic group leaders but they realize they aren't the best when it comes to quest solving, but sometimes you're just not going to be able to win everything. Most of these people understand this... the rest resurrect the dead horse that's the gate keeping argument Ad nauseam.

@10 Unfortunately many currencies miss because the API I'm using does not include some currencies. To get more currencies I'd have to switch to a Paid but more complex API, but I do not have financial resources to handle the API as cheap as it could be.

I could help you. Its actually not that complicated. The only thing you need to do before putting the ipa files on to your phone, is to create something called app specific password on apple.com. Its under the security section I believe. Then, download cidia impactor:www.cidiaimpactor.comYou'll also have to download the game that you wish to play.After that, open cidia impactor and connect your apple device to your pc. then press alt, two times right and five times down. You should be on a button called instal package, press it, locate your game, and then type your apple ID and your app specific password. The ipa file will start instaling automaticly, so give it a few minutes.After waiting check if the game you want to play is on your home screan.That's it. Some friends saw the game is now available to be added to wishlists on Steam, with a seemingly more updated description with even an approximative size (2 GB) included and the date said to be August 2019; so unless that was posted there a while ago then the game is soon to be released, knowing August is one week away from its end.

What's this about setting DMZ to a device that directly faces the internet? Isn't the router that particular device?When I tried the DMZ thing some times I put my computer's internal IP in there, then again I am not fully aware of the workings of DMZ.I have a cellular based connection yes, and the house I live in doesn't have the equipment for stuff like ADSL. It's also cool because I can use the router anywhere, unlike an ADSL thingy where it's fixed to a single address and the ISP has to swap it. Back on topic though... Oh by the way, I just have an Huawei b715 4G router, idk if that's a router / modem combo and i'm using a single router with devices connected to it through WLAN.According to my ISP, their cellular based connections are indeed behind NAT by default, and so they are a private IP address. Through an add on to the data plan, which adds 2 euros per month to the monthly bill by the way, an user can have a public IP. They especially say on their site that if you play online games, use a some sort of security camera or some such the installation of a public IP on the service is recommended so the services work better.It's just interesting how I could host crazy party servers through crazy party's own UPNP thing before the central server was a thing, but now, without UPNP, nope.

@429 I totally disagree here. Not overhyping, but according to the demo alone, I could say that this game has potential and would certainly be bringing up something special to the table. I do build my expectations on what I've experienced from the public demo itself, plus some other factors. It's seemingly far better than Shadow Rine, as (while it has the basic RPG elements SR does have) it has more advanced combat, drastic expansion in terms of items, exploration and so on. And nop, how do you say that fishing and the like are limited to being them minigames while they're ones of major things in the game that would help you along your adventure? I mean dude, you can take advantage of fishing by grilling your catches or benefiting from them in maintaining your health, or even selling them as one of many ways to earn money. So needless to say: if this game would be as massive as SR with all of those expansions you folks see, I'm sure it'll be the best RPG audio game in its time. Again I'm not overhyping, I'm expecting the results if the game did really live up to what I've mentioned above, which is hopefully not strange to Galaxy Laboratory.

I actually do like SBP and had some pretty big things for it planned. Here are some reasons why this never happened.1: Lack of interest. Most people were just tired if SBP this, SBP that. Given its history in the past I don't blame the peoople who were highly against a rewrite. However, there was some interest shown, so I wripped out the server code and a lot, and I do mean a lot of the client code and just rewrite it on the server. This as a result cleared up a lot of the mess we were dealing with. Players not syncing as htey should, items not removing from the client when they were no longer there anymore, problems with the server updater and custom servers, the server list going down and changing for no reason what so ever, on and on and on. I cleaned up the code and started everything up again. Asides from a few hickups here and there, we sorted everything out with the player safezones, etc. Still, there were only a few players who were online and most of them were just on afk.This brings me to my second point: time. I don't have the time this year as I once did, now that I'm starting college and trying to get my life in order, maybe even moving out on my own soon, I can't spend 3 days coding patches and adding new features. The demand in making online games is just too much at the moment, and I just want to keep myself very distant from online games for now. Anyway, I have left the server up on the machine if anything happens. All maps and player data is still here.

Honestly I'd much rather it be done with angelscript since the syntax makes a lot more sence at least to me, but I can work with python and I'll still check it out when it gets released. I'd still advise you try to stick with angelscript though purely because that way at least devs won't have to rewrite there games just to work with your system.

Actually I've played the concept demo which I loved. Much better compared to SR in terms of combat. I also listened to the show they also uploaded to the YT where you can hear a lot of new stuff, combat improvements. I am a huge fan of n64 games and this is what is reminding me that era in terms of sound, music and the overall atmosphere which is great.As I said before, it reminds me of zelda and this is great for me!For me replayability means a lot of content like secret stuff to unlock, many side quests, new game plus for example with news stuff. This is what many games had before, especially on PS consoles or mentioned n64.

Replay factor is subjective... there are people who will play the game again and again to try everything, and there will be people who play it once, decide it isn't for them, and ditch it. And anyone who knows what they're talking about and considers game console level is comparing it to older console titles, not this generation. This could easily be another ps2 RPG from the early era, similar to Shadow Rine. as for primitive sounds, that discussion has already been covered. Welcome to the Japanese school of sound design...

Try .NET core and use notepad for C# writing, then just use .NET core to compile your apps. It doesn't have the full .NET framework, but it should (hopefully) do.

The overlapping jobs and abilities thing is easy to answer. For abilities, it's so that people with different stat builds have access to similar attacks or buffs that would otherwise you wouldn't have. If you're coming from a game like alter, this might seem like a foreign, concept, but here, you have the freedom to pick and choose any job in any order, but a skill's effectiveness is highly dependent on your stats, with a few exceptions, like chemist abilities. Yes, in alter you have a minimum stat requirement to use abilities, and a few skills work better if you have a good amount of a specific stat, but your stats are limited by the game's maximum class level,. To further demonstrate, in alter, the damage of greater fireball and lightning bolt cast by a player is determined by cast level, of which at this time is maxed at 55. In uossmud, the damage of firaga and thundaga are determined by your wisdom stat, of which there is no limit. So, to demonstrate my point, you might have one hp draining ability that relies on wisdom, and another hp draining ability that relies on will. And that's why some jobs have seemingly overlapping abilities. As for overlapping jobs, great care has been taken to ensure that no two jobs play alike. Kinda like how priest is focused on solo healing, while cleric specializes in group healing.

I normally pass the ball, then hit circle to spin while running forward.  I'm trying to figure all this out as well, so half the time I end up losing yards as the receiver.  Slowly feel like I'm making progress though, which is encouraging.  Then I'll have a game where I can't complete a single pass.
