Re: Nvda and wireless networks on windows 10 When narrator says hidden hidden hidden, then you're in the right field.I had to do this a few times when reinstalling nvda and I had to reboot and only had access to narrator.NVDA says star when typing in a password field, and when reviewing with the cursor it'll say circle. Re: Nvda and wireless networks on windows 10 As I said in the first post Ironcross, I did pretty much all of that, it was just the password box that wasn't working since as far as I could gather I wasn't writing in it. I am having a similar problem with the mail program. Even when I try narrator it just says "hidden hidden hidden" which isn't much help in knowing when I have typed tsomething or not. I'm trying to guess at the moment, which isnt' helping me to setup my mail account. I can see the purpose of not having passwords displayed on screen, but not even knowing when you type things is ridiculous! Re: Nvda and wireless networks on windows 10 A lot of the windows universal apps aren't accessible, its microsoft being lunkheads. The wireless stuff if perfectly doable though. Hit windows B to jump to the system tray, then right arrow a few times until you hear something like not connected, no connections available, or not connected, connections available. Press space and then arrow to your network of choice, press enter, then tab around, if its a network you want to use a lot, check the thing that says connect automatically with space, then tab and space on connect, then type the password and hit enter.It's a little more concerning if it says connections not available, If that happens, the two most common causes are that wifi is off, or airplane mode is on, either way, bring up the same panel as before, but you will tab around until you hear wifi toggle, not pressed, if it says not pressed, hit space to activate it, then escape and wait a few seconds for it to scan and back in and connect If airplane mode is on, when you arrow over the icon in the system tray, you'll hear something like the following: not connected, wireless communication is turned off. That's a good indicator its airplane mode that got accidentally turned on. Re: Nvda and wireless networks on windows 10 Well I'm trying to set up mail and getting the same problem, I cannot interact with the password box.It doesn't show up as a regular edit box and hitting alt f8 which it says should show the password isn't doing anything, it isn't even reading as a bunch of star symbols, eg I wonder what is going wrong here if this isn't a nvda issue. It does surprise me, I've been using Nvda as my main screen reader on my desktop now for the last six months and barely switch to supernova, indeed I am not even bothering installing supernova on this laptop. Re: Nvda and wireless networks on windows 10 Once you click on a network, the edit box and connect automatically stuff should show up in the same window. I don't think nvda announces the changes though, just press tab to find the options for a specific connection. When you are in the list of connections it should tell you which one is selected. I use a windows 10 computer with nvda and hardly ever switch to the now outdated version of jaws in it, and do just fine. Nvda and wireless networks on windows 10 Hi. I am currently setting up my new windows ten laptop (or at least new to me). One worrying thing was the wireless network since for some really odd reason Nvda wouldn't interact with the box to enter the network key. It said "enter network key hit alt f8 to show password" but there was no standard edit area, and though I copied the password I didn't realize it copied. Hitting alt f8 didn't do anything, and hitting the arrows still read the available networks list. this is quite worrying given that I want to use this laptop as a machine for I'm out and about and thus connecting to different wifi networks in different places, including hotels and perhaps even stations. Does anyone have any thoughts on this? It is true I don't yet have the windows 10 Ap essentials addon installed for Nvda but I ssumed it'd standard windows settings without a hitch. any thoughts ?
