Re: Are Lenovo Laptops Safe?
I've used a 32-bit version of 10 on a machine with 2 GB RAM, and it works. It's not what I'd call ideal, because I only had about 700 MB free RAM right after booting Windows without running anything else. I wouldn't recommend running anything past XP with less
Re: Are Lenovo Laptops Safe?
@ironcross32You can do the basics with 4GB. If you don't do anything more than that it's fine. Also if it's an all-in-one I bet it's 32 bit windows as well, which "helps" for some definition of helps.

I have several computers with 4 GB RAM, and they work okay as long as you don't run too many programs and/or browser tabs at the same time. Using 4 GB is the absolute minimum when it comes to running modern operating systems, so I'd always recommend at least 8

@ironcross, i've been using this PC for about 6 months or more and haven't had a problem with it, so 4GB can't be that bad. I don't use it to make videos or anything so it's completely fine for me.

Agree with defender as well. Things aren't made as they used to be. The blame? Capitalism, greed, money, you name it. Mind you, I get the why; but they are screwing customers over, in a way. However this comes into the equation as well; how well does one take

I agree with you defender. Most tech just isn't made of good material nowadays. I understand what the stated intent behind it is, but you can certainly tell that things just are not made to last like they used to be.

Re: Are Lenovo Laptops Safe?
Yeah there is quite a bit of variability between model lines. But to be honest almost all laptops are built like shit now. We keep building more and more disposable technology when that's the last thing we need right now.

Not sure about safety, but I don't like their quality. The company I work for also bought this brand for many of its employees and within a year we dumped all of them because the monitors died first, then the keyboards started acting up

Also, every laptop you buy today is made in China. Even if it says made in the United States, the parts all come from China.

Re: Are Lenovo Laptops Safe?
Almost every company that does laptops does something as bad as Lenovo, it's just that Lenovo got caught and distilled to something nonprogrammers could understand. If you're concerned, do a fresh Windows install to a non-OEM Windows and call it a day
Re: Are Lenovo Laptops Safe?
I read about that as well. Personally, and its just my opinion here; I would never trust this company. They did the malware thing, and from what I read they pulled another similar stunt a while after that. This company, at least for me, is not to be trusted

Re: Are Lenovo Laptops Safe?
for the record, the superfish malware had a component in the bios, so wiping partitions wouldn't help if the malware was in the bios.

Erase the disk manually with diskpart if you go that route, that way there can be no question that it worked.

I was about to say exactly the same thing. If you're really concerned, just create a bootable USB flash drive of Windows 10 using the Media Creation Tool. Boot off the drive, choose to delete all the internal drive partitions, and let the Windows installer
Re: Are Lenovo Laptops Safe?
You could always just wipe and reinstall when you get the computer. I do that anyway. Gets rid of bloat. Or if you want to install your custom versions of windows 10

Are Lenovo Laptops Safe?
Hello.I'm considering upgrading my laptop, and had some success with audio (or the ease of connecting it) on Lenovo laptops. However, ow'm not sure how secure they actually are, as there have been reports of pre-installed malware (like the SuperFish malware). I'd
