Looks like they might be really good once they get going (I'm circle 9 at this point), but I'm not certain yet. That big red button on 3k can really run you up a tree by putting you in a position where you have good stats and a high level, but bad guild skills that you haven't really empowered yet, so you'll have to fight way under your level. But 3k/3s look like they're meant to be slow, and the qinfo problem is, well, a problem. I don't need everything fed to me the way they do on AA for the first three whole freaking islands, but nor do I want to have to guess the verb. So far I haven't come up against anything insane in that regard on 3s, mind you. But yeah, might be a slightly short-lived experiment. There's a form called Mice Play with Cheese, for instance, which just seems silly. The writer definitely kept to RJ's forms for the most part, and that's good - some of them are quite evocative - but the occasional silly-looking one breaks the mood a little.Also, some of the descriptions are nonsensical. I was getting guild exp this morning and constantly seeing my guildmate laying throats open (which I've done before), impaling, launching foes into the air, ripping them almost in half. These are...ahem, they're kind of mortal blows. I know you have to represent bigger damage somehow, but it starts looking ridiculous when you face a monster and you impale it/run it through/rupture its organs twelve times over, and it's still not fucking dead. Again, it breaks realism, and it's sadly making me wonder if I even want to settle in for the long haul. I realize that actually writing out long, florid paragraphs of description in the heat of combat, which can respond to conditional actions, is nigh on impossible. But for heaven's sake, some of this damage just needs fixing. For instance, instead of slashing someone nearly in half and rupturing organs, what about: "You strike with a ferocious vertical stroke" or "Your sword flickers past your enemy's defenses to score a devastating wound". Okay, in this sort of MUD you're still going to deal dozens of supposedly devastating wounds - but this isn't a warder problem, it's an everybody problem, mobs in this game just. don't. fucking. die. - but at least said devastating wounds aren't quite so gruesomely described. Why does this matter? Because when not so gruesomely describing but still implying the danger/ferocity/expertise of the strike, you're giving the reader a much better chance to infer what's going on.Also, these guys are totally misusing Cat Crosses the Courtyars, which is sort of a balls-of-your-feet strut which usually starts combat. The number of times I've seen my warder transition -into it during the heat of battle is off the chart.Yeah, yeah, I know. I'm picky.And to be clear, I did have fun, and I still am. I'm just wishing I could rewrite some of these details, that's all. I truly feel I could do a better job. I notice that costs are going up extremely fast (for instance, speed cost 100k, then jumped way up to 2 million, but then I can't raise it again for awhile anyway). Also, should I just be buying the stat that's cheapest? I think currently I have 25str, 24dex, 20int, 20wis, 20cha, 23con, and I suspect that I've probably borked my character somehow. also haven't used, like, any of my skillpoints except to buy light armour. I mean, yes, I'm doing more damage and all, and that's great, but I thought part of the glory of this guild was in all the lovely description in the sword-forms. So far I'm just getting things like "you barely nick monster" or "you slice monster, leaving a wide gash". I'm hoping descs start opening up soon. Then went to Spetstar Station or whatever it's called, and the game crashed. Logged back on, only to be stuck in some sort of jump room for twenty seconds before I could log in properly. And all my gear was gone. Muddled around the station for a bit, apparently unlocked a locker with a blaster cartridge but it didn't show, then the game crashed again.So, uh, what's the deal? The game cannot be this fucking unstable if people are playing it. Did I get insanely, insanely unlucky, or is there something triggery in that area which makes the game crash?Very much looking to try a warder, by the way. Though i'm not in for the quests, i'm in for the very complex and unique guilds which you can try. Regardless, i got help with some quests if i asked, so either the wizs don't enforce the rule or the players just don't care enough. 3k quests are no thanks, syntax figuring which i hate. 3s is nicer with quests, or what i saw. I wonder if Apollo will do the same, or if he will choose to return to his rightful place. Especially since Apollo is now realizing his mistakes as a god. I love how Riordan slowly reveals Apollo's past in the past 4 books and shows us his mistakes. I also feel like the books' plots were sort of geared toward's Apollo in the form of karma. For example, when Apollo faced the god of silence, he regretted all those things that he did to him. Or when he remembered cursing the Sibyl, he later regretted it.One thing I am wondering though is if Apollo will actually be able to pay for his oath sworn on the River Styx. I would think Riordan would have something set out for Apollo, seeing as how he did such thing. Re: Lords And Knights: Who's still playing? @bcs993, in my case it wasn't even that I got trounced by someone else, just that basically the game seemed to be composed of either level 1 players who had abandoned castle, so my troops just walked in and took stuff, or high level players who did the same to me. The pvp didnt' even feel really like anything strategic, it was just alternating bashing straw dolls or just getting mowed down myself. Then of course, the fact that I seemed to run out of missions and tasks to do (especially since I remember the access on the mission screen was a bit weird), didn't help much either. Actually, I'd have much rather the game had! been single player myself, with challenges to do and enemies who scaled to require defeating as in something like Homequest, which actually I'm finding pretty dam awesome at the moment and have spent far more time and trouble on than I ever did lords and knights. then again, I'll freely admit, pvp is less my thing anyway. I got about 30-45 minutes in and had to put it down, thinking I could come back later. Having done so, I only have options to start a new game. I also didn't reboot the console, thinking that the game would hang around in memory, but it was apparently killed off at some point.I realize this is only a demo, but it's surprising not to be able to save and restore, even if only with a single slot. There doesn't seem to be much state to save, either, since progression seems pretty linear, and I don't get the sense that health persists between individual stages. So a save system for the demo would only need to persist which level you're on, how many coins you have, and maybe a bit more global state than I'm missing. Then either give an option to resume, or to start a new game.Anyhow, neat concept, but I'm probably not going to replay the first 30-45 minutes to get back to where I was unless it changes pretty drastically past the point where I lost my progress. I made it to the inn where I had a choice of quests. Does it open up much at that point, or still basically spawn you into a self-contained area to perform some task? If the latter, I think I've seen what I need to for now, and would rather not get back to that point to find out. Hi.I also got the demo by searching for it in the Microsoft Store.Here is my feedback so far, after having played through the demo on the Xbox:I really like the new improved version. I also enjoy the two new side quests.It's a shame that shooting with the bow has been removed, unless I'm missing something.Here is my feedback on how to improve the game:1. A lot of times, you are being told to press the right tricker to continue or confirm, and the left trigger to go back or cancel. A and B does also work. Why not just say A and B instead, since that's more standard controls on the XBox?2. Please fix so the arrow keys can be used as well.3. when you push the left analog stick up after you have reached the first menu item, something strange is happening, like if there is an empty menu item.4. In combat, it would be great to have some vibration feedback when the enemies are hitting the shield.5. Is there an easy way to read how many coins you have?6. When you have interacted with someone in the town who you don't need anymore, the person disappears. This is quite strange to me.7. It's a shame that the game does not have any achievements at all. It simply says: "Achievements not supported in this game." I really hope achievements will be added later to add a lot of replayability, since both the Xbox and Steam supports achievements, and if the game is being purchased somewhere else, you might be able to build the achievements into the main menu.I think that's all the feedback I have for now.
