Hi everyone,
I've traced my da Ponte line back to my 6th great-grandfather Domingos
da Ponte, born in Povoação (N.S. Mãe de Deus) in November 1726, son of
Martinho da Ponte and Suzana de Medeiros.
The year is 1790 and de tarde means in the afternoon. Many records state if
the marriage was in the morning on in the afternoon

*Hi,
Then, 1790 it is!! (in the afternoon).
I just thought it was a bit unusual that they were married 8 years before
their first child was born then once they started having children, they had
them every 2 to 3 years until 1808.

butchered pigs out on the ranch.

Thanks Mary Ann, I will watch for it.

I'm able to access the records using Safari or Firefox on my Mac. You
SHOULD be able to, also. Try this: Go to the Safari menu in the upper
left corner of your screen and choose Empty Cache from the menu.
Sometimes that helps to reset Safari or any web browser. Quit Safari

Although more unusual to be born 8 years later, but a possibility. Double
check for any missing kids and then just chalk it up to the bride having a

birth/baptisms in Manadas for my Great-Grandfather, Joseph Bettencourt. His
middle initial was A. My Grandmother said it was for Ames, but we're
I so wish I could read these things. On this page of the Mandadas birth
