I read the baptism date as 18 August 1878 and the birthdate as 19 July
1878; but I think you were asking about the date of death written in the
margin. I read this as 15 June 1941 or 1942. I tend to think 1942 more
likely because of what looks like a dotted letter I.

I agree that it looks like a filho and wonder if the name might be
Mario. It seems every capital M on the record has the same large loops and
ends with a thick crescent at the lower right. This can be seen on the
third line where Sam Miguel is written, but the best example is in the

I see the point with the a and now agree that is probably is filha. I
still think it starts with an M like in the priests name at the end. Also
the mother's name Maria is just below the child's name and really looks
similar except that the I is not evident and the a is very
heavy-handed.
To me it looks like Fermiana. I never saw this name before but I found
some with this name on a google search and they all had Portuguese names so
it must exist.
