The Diocese for all of the Azores is Angra. Sometimes handwritten "n"s can
look like "u"s, but it's an "n."

the not so usual stuff.
You, and all those who have added so much to our culture, are truly an
invaluable asset to this group.

PS I also have to mention Cheri, the one who keeps it all together.

Then your aunt can go to the Civil Registry in Lagoa and get the birth

Interesting fact: Antonio and Donna Francisca had a child exactly 9 months
after their marriage. That in itself doesn't surprise me, but could that
have had anything to do with the margin note? Just wondering...

I misread. Mariano was born in 1909, not 1905. You cannot use the records
online. Ask your grandma for her birth record.
You may have to hire a researcher to get you your greats births since Agua
de Pau cuts off at 1905. You can use Joao Ventura. He will search for a
couple of records for you. He
Thank you Margaret. The subtleties still prove to throw me off. Sam, this

1910 or so.
Ribeira Cha records are housed in Agua de Pau. Agua de Pau only goes to

Something about being 'desobrigados', i can tell it says 'quaresma' but the
other words i can't tell. They were desobrigados in a quaresma in 1762.

It is Francisca de Menezes (Meneses) natural of Sao Pedro Parish
The groom was dis obligated in the year 1762. This means he had full filled
all of the Christian and monetary obligations
