I love Temple Square. Christmastime is a wonderful time to go there. The

I did research there some years ago, my husband read the whole Book of

John stands correct in his reading of, Lazeira. Currently in PT the name
exists as Lazera, as does Lazura. But John got it right.

What are you looking for on this couple? I have all of this, their marriage
and 7 kids...Also Manuel's parents marriage but nothing for Teresa comes up
that matches her parents.

Thank you, Neil. My grandfather was an infant when he came to America. He
was married in NYC in 1911, but I don't know how to go about finding where
specifically. I wish I knew the names of my great grandparents as I think
that would solve some puzzles.

Claire,
You need to go to the Azores Genweb here and read this 20 page document on
how to locate your ancestors: https://goo.gl/R6tWfF
Also, I'd go to the local public library and check out a book on genealogy.
I like Emily Anne Croom's "Unpuzzling Your Past." Check out whatever grabs

Today, for sure they are different names, but they are closely related.
Antao is usually the older form and sometimes survived into the more modern
era. But I have seen the priests interchange the names, like Jose for
Joseph. But it really depends on whether a person kept or insisted on using
I will venture Lazeira because, if the dot between the i and r is meant for
the letter i, then the apparent u is really a compressed e followed by i.

Hi everyone. I need someone to tell me what date the priest wrote for the
DObirth, and then the DObaptism.
I think I'm reading born on the 8 day of Sep 1716,
His name was Joseph Angus Lewis, but I am sure that is the Americanized
version. I have no idea when he came to the US other than sometime between
1888 and 1910. I went to the azores genweb, and I have now ordered a death
certificate for him. They say it can take up to 12 weeks, so I will
Hi Claire,
Neil Teixeira here. You need to ID his correct name and village on
Faial Island. I would first get a copy of his marriage record from
which-ever Catholic Church he was married in. The Priest would have wanted
the "exact" village he was born at & baptized in which exact Church.
What a nice picture! I'm sorry to miss the conference!

flooding conditions have had very little effect on the Lab other than
