Hi Doreen,

I think the priest mistakenly gave the maternal grandfather's name in the
beginning and then corrected himself.  If you disregard everything after neta
paterna and up to the point of correction (digo), it says "neta paterna de José
Machado de Castro e Maria do Carmo e maternal de Francisco Miguel de Castro e
de Maria de Jesus"

I think that is what he meant to say.

Cheri and others,

OK.so this is where my message belongedand it does have the book as
subjectIDK what happened when I replied from my iphone while in the car
as it was supposed to go here...so here it goes again.

I think, I hope many will be interested in these books. Years ago when I
went to Croatia I found out many years ago, a young man on the island wrote
notes about the people living on Italian/Croatian island my family came
from. My Archbishop cousin had them reprinted into 5 very heavy books. The
cost was $200. One of the best $200 I ever spent for my genealogy. I
bought them whilst there and carried them home in my luggage (before weight
was an issue, thank God) and also carried them all over Europe for the rest
of my trip. To my knowledge, these books were never reprinted. I cannot
read, write, speak Italian, Croatian or Portuguese for that matter..but
I have this family back to the 1503!! To this day I still reference my
books.

Do not pass the offer up for these books if you have an interest in this
area of the Azores.

[AZORES-Genealogy] Re: 1906 Ribeirinha Marriage of Joao Machado de Castro and Emilia Candida de Jesus

2018-02-18 Thread doreencaetano
Based on what I worked on yesterday: Joao Machado de Castro, husband of
Emilia Candida and her 3rd cousin is the son of Francisco Machado de
Castro, husband of Violante Emilia of Fontinhas, who is the son of
Francisco Machado de Castro, husband of Maria de Sao Jose Silva, whi is the
son of Antonio Machado de Castro and Maria de Jesus. Now this Antonio
Machado de Castro will be an uncle to Emilia Candida. Emilia Candida is the
daughter of Antonio Machado de Castro, husband of Catarina Mariana de
Jesus, who is the son ? Machado do Castro, who is the son of ? Machado do
Castro #2 and this person would be the brother of the Antonio Machado de
Castro, husband of Maria de Jesus. Now here is the big problem. It appears
that there are two Antonio Machado da Castro & Maria de Jesus families. It
appears that one of the Antonio Machado de Castro and Maria de Jesus had 4
sons: 1. Joao Machado de Castro who married Catarina Maxima, daughter of
Francisco da Costa and Maria do Carmo on 12/3/1856 (at this time Antonio
and Maria are deceased, 2 Mateus Machado de Castro marries Maria do Carmo,
daughter of Joao Fernandes de Miranda and Maria de Jesus in 1848 (both Joao
and Maria de Jesus are deceased at this time), 3. Antonio Machado de Castro
married Maria de Jesus, daughter of Joao Fernandes Miranda and Maria de
Jesus on 7/3/1843 pg 21, Francisco Machado de Castro marries Maria de Sao
Jose, daughter of Mattheus Goncalves da Silva ad Marianna Joaquina on
12/3/1845. I need someone to please read these records to make sure that i
have the right connection. Maybe this family is in someone tree?

2018-02-18 Thread Cheri Mello
Luis,

OK, in English, just say you are selling "a set of 7 books for $150 euros."
When you say you are selling "a set" most people know that it cannot be
sold separately.

Right now, $150 euros is about $186 USD or $234 CAD. Plus the shipping.

Any plans to make this electronic? I'm thinking the shipping costs is going
to be crazy. Cheri

Hello Cheri
I'm very excited.
Well the cost should be close to one hundred and fifty euros the seven
volumes.
At this stage I gather interested parties who want to subscribe the
books and for this should indicate their name and number of copies
that they are interested?

The 7 books can not be sold separately.

[AZORES-Genealogy] Vale das Furnas Families books

2018-02-18 Thread lrazoresgenealogist

Hello Cheri,
I have been in the last years absent from our usual conversations,
interests, investigations, etc. about Azorean Genealogy, a theme that
is so stimulating for us, because during all this time I was finishing
my great research on all the Furnas Families.
For the next month of october will be presented to the azorean world
descendants, a first work in the genre to lovers of Azorean genealogy,
in the case with greater interest on those that originate in the
Furnas Valley, São Miguel Island.
I am talking about 7 books, with about 600 pages each, illustrated
with photographs, with the genealogies (presented narratively) between
the period that runs from 1671 to 2017.
These books are already having some repercussion, will be presented
during the course of this year in Furnas, Ponta Delgada, Lisbon, USA
and Canada.
I write for you, dear Cheri, for recognizing in yourself, to be the
most active person in this group, the one who knows most about Azorean
genelogies.
That is why the difficulties over who has Families with origin in
Furnas have ended. It's all there and no one is missing.

The books will have the preface by Dr. Jorge Forjaz.
I would also like to present the books in California, Hawaii and
Brazil, but in these places no one has shown interest in organizing
the book launching session.

If Cheri finds interest in this matter, I'd like you to contact me in private.
As the set of the 7 books weighs about 10 kilos, perhaps Cheri could
suggest to the group who would be in them, so that we could have an
idea of how many copies I have to separate for those interested in
the group.
The edition will be 1000 books,  7000 books will be manufactured,
which can not be sold separately, but in blocks of 7, because they are
interconnected with each other.

I count on your help to publicize the work. Thank you very much.
I made 34 years to do this books.
