I remember bconsole not working after upgrading to 3.x too, but I had backed up the 2.4 version before upgrading. I simply copied the bconsole binary from 2.4.x into the 3.x install directory and it worked fine for me. Whether that is recommended I couldn't say, but it has been working for me for

We backup ~35TB each week in a 3 week rotation so we just have to scale out in order to meet our demands and we are planning to go multi-DIR, multi-SD with a couple of very hefty MySQL servers to service them. Holy cow! That's a lot of data. I'm exploring using ZFS's de-dup function.
