Re: [Bacula-users] Experiences with Autochanger IBM TS3100

2011-07-28 Thread Daniel Holtkamp
Hi !

Not quite sure if that helps, but we are running a similar library that
identifies as 3573-TL but looks the same. We just connected it to the server
(to SAS-HBA) and were able to use it with /dev/sg0 and /dev/nst0 nst1 on a
RHEL5.6 which should be quite similar to Centos 5.6. Just try a mtx inquiry
with the library connected and maybe create a link for /dev/changer.

Best regards,

Daniel

[Bacula-users] Multiple Devices in Director Storage definition

2011-05-04 Thread Daniel Holtkamp
Hello !

I am testing around a bit and found something that would help a lot in my
setup, but i´m not quite sure if this is a supported configuration.

This way i can mount up to 4 different volumes at the same time on one storage.
Please note that the Archive Device location is always the same so i don´t
think i have to split up the storage definition as suggested in the manual.

- bacula-dir.conf -
Storage {
  Name   = backup.mb.filestorage
  Address= 10.11.6.32
  SDPort = 9103
  Password   =
  Device = backup.mb.filestorage-1
  Device = backup.mb.filestorage-2
  Device = backup.mb.filestorage-3
  Device = backup.mb.filestorage-4
  Media Type = backup.mb.filestorage
  Maximum Concurrent Jobs = 4
}
- bacula-dir.conf -

- bacula-sd.conf -
Device {
  Name = backup.mb.filestorage-1
  Media Type = backup.mb.filestorage
  Archive Device = /var/backup/storage/backup.mb.filestorage/
  LabelMedia = yes; # lets Bacula label unlabeled media
  Random Access = Yes;
  AutomaticMount = yes; # when device opened, read it
  RemovableMedia = no;
  AlwaysOpen = no;
  Maximum Concurrent Jobs = 1
}

Device {
  Name = backup.mb.filestorage-2
  Media Type = backup.mb.filestorage
  Archive Device = /var/backup/storage/backup.mb.filestorage/
  LabelMedia = yes; # lets Bacula label unlabeled media
  Random Access = Yes;
  AutomaticMount = yes; # when device opened, read it
  RemovableMedia = no;
  AlwaysOpen = no;
  Maximum Concurrent Jobs = 1
}

[... and so on ...]
- bacula-sd.conf -

Is it intended to be used that way ?

Daniel

[Bacula-users] bscan troubles

2011-04-19 Thread Daniel Holtkamp
Hello !

We had some database troubles and decided to recreate the catalog with bscan.

It worked nicely with our disk-volumes. It took a while and created an
impressive 15GB MySQL-tmpfile for each of the big 1.5TB volumes - but it worked
without problems. It also flawlessly read 2.5TB of incremental Backups (in 70
separate volumes) without a hitch.

But now i´m starting to scan our tape volumes and i´m running into a strange
problem. I reproduced this with 3 different tapes on a dedicated LTO-5 drive
and on both internal drives of our Tape Library.

Besides the hint about duplicate job control that might or might not
work depending on your configuration i have another one.

I assume you those jobs all run on the same Client. Just specify maximum
concurrent jobs = 1 in the client-resource (bacula-dir.conf) for that
client and it will never run more than one job simultaneously.

Be sure that you don´t do this in the bacula-fd config because you can´t
check the FDs status anymore when a backup job is running (backup +
fd-status check = 2 jobs).

 Actually, it'll decrease it rather drastically. All the way to none.

Good laugh there :)

 You see, at the present time you cannot copy or migrate from one SD to
 another. Copy and migration operations can only occur between devices
 attached to a single SD, because SDs cannot yet communicate directly
 with one another, which they would need to do to perform inter-SD copies
 or migrations.

My company has requested this feature (copy jobs between multiple SDs)
and is willing to pay half of what Bacula Systems wants for
implementing. They asked for 10k€ and we are willing to pay 5k€.

Our main reason to request this feature is that we can have a central
director in our office, a SD in our office and a SD in the datacenter.
We could then do a (local) backup in the datacenter and copy those jobs
to our office-sd during off-hours. And from there they get copied to
tape for achival.

It would be great if we could find more people willing to commit money
to this feature. On the other hand if any devs feel up to the task and
the 5k€ we offer is enough that would be great too.

[Bacula-users] MySQL: Batch-Inserts Disk-based tmp-tables

2009-07-22 Thread Daniel Holtkamp
Hello everyone !

Please correct me if i'm wrong, but i did notice that all temporary
batch-insert tables created by bacula are disk-based.

After digging a bit on why this happens (starting with the
mysql-parameters) i found the following bit that explained it quite clearly.

From http://dev.mysql.com/doc/refman/5.0/en/memory-storage-engine.html

- MEMORY tables cannot contain BLOB or TEXT columns.

And here is the Table-Creation in the bacula-source (src/cats/sql_create.c):

 CREATE TEMPORARY TABLE batch (
FileIndex integer,
JobId integer,
Path blob,
Name blob,
LStat tinyblob,
MD5 tinyblob),NULL, NULL);

Of course - so bacula batch-insert tables are never going to be memory
tables because of the blob columns.

If those tables have to be blobs there is nothing we can do about it -
but do they really have to be ? Does batch-inserts still make it faster
even though the tables are disk-based ? (I did not test that).

I also found this in patches/testing/batch-insert.readme and am curious
if it is still valid:

---
you MUST change some indexes.

mysql)

ALTER TABLE Filename DROP INDEX Name;
ALTER TABLE Filename ADD UNIQUE (Name(255));

ALTER TABLE Path DROP INDEX Path;
ALTER TABLE Path ADD  UNIQUE (Path(255));
---

But mysql_create_tables.in (again in src/cats/) says:

---
CREATE TABLE Filename (
  FilenameId INTEGER UNSIGNED NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT,
  Name BLOB NOT NULL,
  PRIMARY KEY(FilenameId),
  INDEX (Name(255))
  );

CREATE TABLE Path (
   PathId INTEGER UNSIGNED NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT,
   Path BLOB NOT NULL,
   PRIMARY KEY(PathId),
   INDEX (Path(255))
   );
---

I`m pretty sure that the bacula-rpm (that has batch-insert enabled) does
not create the database in the correct way for batch-inserts if those
indexes are still necessary.

I`m also having a Problem with my Director hanging sometime in the
night. It just stops doing anything and you cannot connect to the
console. I don't think i can get a Traceback from this because the
director does not actually crash. It just sits there doing nothing. I am
still analysing this though - if you have any tips on how i can get some
useful output (i did set the debug-level for SD Dir to 200 today and
hope to see something tomorrow) please tell.

Best regards

 attributes again ? The
data is already in the database but linked to the original backup job.
After the migration has run the on disk-data cannot be accessed anymore,
so why keep it ? Or even better, why not just UPDATE it so it links to
the migration job ? This should go a LOT quicker than doing a complete
insert again and would remove this bottleneck completely.

I'm afraid i'm not a programmer or i would take a look into this myself.
I actually did look at the sources but it could be encrypted and look
all the same to me :)

If you need any more information on this i will try to get it. Just let

Can you check how many queries per second you get on the database while

Spooling makes no difference i take it ?
Does attribute spooling make a difference ? (Spool Attributes = yes)

If you didn`t check out attribute spooling yet it could still be a
problem with the database. If it is you should see higher transfer speed
during the backup. After the backup the attributes are commited to the
database and THIS takes quite a while.

At least that is what i can see on my system.

I can see it inserting with about 250 - 300 queries per second ... never
goes higher ... and for filesets with 10 million files that takes quite
a while to commit ...

Database, Attribute-Spool-Files, MySQL-Temp Files and Backup-Files are
all on different arrays ...

[Bacula-users] Multiple Tapedrives as one Storage

2007-01-16 Thread Daniel Holtkamp
Hi !

I`m not sure if this is possible so i`m asking here.

We have 4 tapedrives connected to our backupserver. Is it possible to
insert a blank tape into each one, bacula then starts to write to the
first tapedrive (labeling the tape in the process) and when that tape is
filled it continues to write on the second drive ? And after that the
third and fourth and then wait for a new tape to be inserted into drive 1 ?

I would use this to migrate all disk-based volumes to one archive-pool
on tapes.

I got the impression that something like this would be possible with an
autochanger configuration.

[Bacula-users] Daily changed tape pool configuration ?

2006-04-06 Thread Daniel Holtkamp

Hi !

We have a tape that gets changed daily and i seem to have a few problems
with it. I`d like to configure the pool in a way that no matter what the
currently inserted tape will be used.

backup-dir Version: 1.38.4
bernoulli-fd Version: 1.38.2

Pool {
  Name = dailytape-pool # used monthly
  Pool Type= Backup
  Label Format = daily.
  Maximum Volume Jobs = 3  # 3 Clients = 3 jobs !
  Volume Use Duration = 1 day
  Maximum Volumes  = 16
  Volume Retention = 11 days
  Recycle Current Volume= yes
  AutoPrune= yes # Prune expired volumes
  Recycle = yes # automatically recycle Volumes
}

This is what i tried, but it doesn`t seem to work.

05-Apr 21:05 backup-dir: Start Backup JobId 5297,
Job=Bernoulli.2006-04-05_21.05.01

05-Apr 21:06 backup-dir: Pruned 3 Jobs on Volume daily.0014 from catalog.
05-Apr 21:06 backup-sd: Bernoulli.2006-04-05_21.05.01 Warning: Director
wanted Volume daily.0013.

Current Volume daily.0014 not acceptable because:
1998 Volume daily.0014 status is Full, but should be Append,
Purged or Recycle (cannot automatically recycle current volume, as it
still contains unpruned data).
05-Apr 21:06 backup-sd: Please mount Volume daily.0013 on Storage
Device daily-sd (/dev/nst0) for Job Bernoulli.2006-04-05_21.05.01
05-Apr 22:05 bernoulli-fd: Bernoulli.2006-04-05_21.05.01 Fatal error:
job.c:1594 Comm error with SD. bad response to Append Data.
ERR=Interrupted system call

After that you get the backup canceled info (canceled because max wait
time is reached).

You can see it prunes the 3 jobs on the volume just before the backup
starts but then says there is still unpruned data on it. The job that
starts 4 hours later and uses the same pool does not have any problems
and uses the tape.

Also Volume Use Duration does not seem to kick in ... if i list the
volumes in the pool i get this:

+-++---++--+--+-+--+---++-+
| MediaId | VolumeName | VolStatus | VolBytes   | VolFiles |
VolRetention | Recycle | Slot | InChanger | MediaType  | LastWritten

| 157 | daily.0013 | Append| 63,072,842,832 |   64 |
950,400 |   1 |0 | 1 | daily-tape | 2006-04-05 13:09:06 |
| 192 | daily.0014 | Append| 49,326,499,066 |   50 |
950,400 |   1 |0 | 1 | daily-tape | 2006-04-06 12:47:56

+-++---++--+--+-+--+---++-+
(cut out the unimportant stuff)

They should have changed to status used by now. The Maximum Volume
Jobs is not hit (because of the first backup failing) but the Volume use
duration should have been.

Any ideas ?

guarantee that their Run After Job script is unconditionally run so they can
restart their database after shutting it down in the Run Before Job script.
The answer is: the Run After Job is run only when the job terminates
normally, but you may also define a Run After Failed Job that will be run
if the job terminates with any error. If both the directives are specified
and they specify the same script, your script will then be unconditionally
called. If you wish to know the exit status, you can pass it as one of the
edit codes on the command line.

Seems it`s not inmplemented for clients yet ? Or do i have to go for the

You ran into a mysql-limit there. The File Table apparently uses MyISAM
as storage engine and the max-limit there is 4 GB. Fire up
mysql-administrator and change the storage engine to InnoDB then you`re
fine. (On my system i changed all tables to InnoDB - just in case).

[Bacula-users] Run After Job command

2006-01-31 Thread Daniel Holtkamp

Hi !

Is the Run After Job command executed if the job failed ? It appears
not to do so and the documentation didn`t help. Or is there a way to get
it executed even if the job failed ?

For example one backup job backups our oracle-server. I stop the oracle
with the Run Before Job command, but when the backup fails because no
tape is inserted the oracle is not started again. Which is bad :)

[Bacula-users] Bacula client RPMs

2005-12-12 Thread Daniel Holtkamp

Hi !

Is there a switch for rpmbuild that only builds the clients and only
checks the dependencies for those ?

I didn`t find anything checking the specfile but maybe i missed it.

Would be nice if i could just specify rpmbuild --rebuild --define
build_rh7 1 --define client_only 1 bacula.src.rpm because i only
need to build one server but 4 diff versions of the client.

I just ran into the problem that the RHAS2.1 (rh7 compatible) does not
have most of the required packets ... they`re simply not available for
that OS-release :(

Hope that helps a little bit.

Basically each storage device in the SD-config has another Storage

I canceled the backup at 9:25 so that`s not the problem.

The problem is - the backup started at 20:05 yesterday and this morning
at 9:25 it was about halfway done (if that) ... we got about 5 mil files
on that machine thats why i know.

The backup is *REALLY* slow for this machine and none of the other
servers is having similar problems. This is our only Solaris machine
though. I`m also still using the 1.37.40 release because i`m waiting on
the official RPMs to upgrade.

The backup also heavily affects the performance of the application
running on that box. I set compression to GZIP1 so this shouldn`t be the
problem (cpu-load is fine actually). I have no idea what`s causing this,
any ideas what i could check ?

Amanda never had these kinda problems so i figure it is a bacula problem.

Ran into this about 2 weeks ago ... your MySQL is possibly usind MyISAM
as the database storage engine. Change it to InnoDB and you should be
fine ...

MyISAM has a storage limit of 4 GB per database file i think.

I`m still using 1.37.40 but since you seem to have the problem in 1.36.2
and 1.38.1 i don`t think that matters ...

I have about 10 clients that all do a backup at 1:05. Each client has
his own job, his own pool and his own storage device. I don`t know if by
four storage daemons you mean 4x bacula-sd but i`m only running each
service once.

Max concurrent jobs is set to 10 of course.

All these backups go to a 350GB Raid-5 array and the directory structure
is like this:

./storage/clientA/clientA.0001
./storage/clientB/clientB.0001
etc

I`m having absolutely NO problems whatsoever with all jobs concurrently
writing to the raid device.

Maybe the problem is somewhere else ?

Which database?

MySQL ... dang, should`ve noted that ...

If it's MySQL, you have the option to tune the database settings. Easily
done with the graphical administration program, where you can select the
table you want to modify, set the expected row length and, important in
this case, you can also define the maximum number of rows in the table.

Allright, that points me in the right direction, i`ll take a look

Ifyou've found a *real* limit, in this case you stored a number of files
beyond what your DBMS can hold per table, you're in trouble... but that
seems unlikely. Of course, you might have a full file system, too.

File System was ok (that was one of the first problems i ran into
testing bacula - now the DB got 80gig - should be enuff ;) )

I also don`t hope i found a limit ... does Bacula work with one of my
cute Oracle10g DBs ? :-)

I`ll write a report when i know more

Allright, i took a look at the Database.

Spotting the error was actually pretty easy. The File table has the
following details:

Rows: 35884993
Avg. row length: 115
Data length: 4294967276
Max data length: 4294967295
Index length: 1002577920
Data free: 142099940

I`ve reached the maximum Data length it seems ... mysql was unable to
extend the datafile - table full. The Mysql i installed uses the MyISAM
Storage Engine ... and i think the filesize-limit for those is 4GB

I`m gonna change the database to the InnoDB Storage Engine ... what do
you think, should i try to convert the old database into the new format
or should i just scrap the db completely and make it new ... this time
the right way.

I think i ran into this problem so quickly because we have countless
numbers of small files to backup. And it startet appearing after i put
our Solaris machine into the backup which alone has like 5 million files.

Is something like this mentioned in the documentation btw ? I figure
other users could run into this problem.

Yes, 40+GB is really big. I consider anything over 1GB big.

Actually that is 4GB :-)

The problem of running into table or database size limits is not discussed in
the manual, but there is a bit of information on sizing your DB in the
chapter(s) dealing with MySQL.

Yeh, we have other MySQL-DBs here on site that are well past the 10GB
mark and no problems ... it just happened to me because i`m a Oracle-DBA
and MySQL is still a big mystery to me :-) (Oracle is so easy compared
to MySQL ;) )

Guess i won`t be running any backups tonight ... running a DB-Backup for
safety and then i`m going to convert.

One crucial question i always forget to ask ...

Some of our backups get spooled first, on these i noticed that that
bacula commits all the db-changes at once ... now what happens when a
(non-spooling) backup is running and the table fills like it happened on
the weekend ? Is the backup partially commited ? Or is a final commit to
the database only done after the backup finished successfully ?

I`m fearing loose ends in my DB ...

Re: [Bacula-users] Oracle backups using RMAN

2005-10-18 Thread Daniel Holtkamp

Hi !

Yu Safin wrote:

One of my departments is using Oracle and via RMAN they backup to Netbackup.
How can I accomplish the same using Bacula instead of RMAN?
Is anybody backing up Oracle using Bacula?

I`m administrating two Oracle 10g Servers and back them up with bacula.
One is a development-server - with the ClientRunBeforeJob directive I
shutdown the oracle-db (service oradb stop), then backup the whole
system (closed-database backup basically) and start the oracle again
with the ClientRunAfterJob directive. (This would be without RMAN)

Of course this can only be done if you can afford that the database goes
down during the backup which is not always the case.

This is why we have another Oracle-Server (development-system with
live-data) that gets backed up online. I`ve configured a standard
oracle-online-backup with the Enterprise Manager (Saturday Fullbackup +
Inc Sun-Fri - everything handled by RMAN). This backup goes to a
seperate partition on the oracle-server. Now bacula backs-up the system,
the oracle itself and the backup-area.

I hope that helped you a bit.

[Bacula-users] Bare Metal Recovery Set-Up questions

2005-10-14 Thread Daniel Holtkamp

Hi !

I`m testing out baculas baremetal recovery capabilities. Now i read the
documentation and now i`m a little frightened by what i just read ...

I`m getting the impression that i have to compile bacula on the system i
want to restore which is quite a problem for us. We have 4
compile-systems - one for each OS release (RH9, RHEL2.1, RHEL3, RHEL4)
which we use to compile the packages for all of our other systems. None
of the other systems is able to compile anything as there are no
development tools installed.

Any experiences with this ? Setting up a rescue cd for a system that is
unable to compile ?

I`m trying to build the files by hand as i get the impression that i
only need the /roottree/bacula-HOSTNAME files for the clients that
cannot compile (the CD itself will be build on a compile-system with the
according OS of course). The question is - can i create this directory
by hand ? (== other means than make all)

[Bacula-users] Bacula Tape Handling questions

2005-10-07 Thread Daniel Holtkamp

Hi !

Firstoff: My company is still willing to support a developer that
implements data migration into bacula.

I have a few questions considering tape handling.

Let`s say i have a Tape that gets changed every day. Three servers
backup to it (spooling of course) and i have set Maximum Volume Jobs to
3 for that pool.

Is there a way to automatically eject the tape after the last server
finished spooling his data ? Maybe with the Run After Job directive ? I
could do it by hand with the console but thats not what i want.

What happens if one backup fails and i remove the tape so that maximum
volume jobs is not fulfilled ... will it ask for the old tape on the
next backup or will it happily use the new tape that has been inserted ?

The relabel command only works on tapes already in the catalogue ... i
re-initialized my database a few times and it rejected relabeling the
old tapes. It also rejected USING the old tapes ... had to do mt weof
to fix that.

Do i need to set the Drive Index option in bacula-sd.conf when i don`t
have a tapechanger ? I only have 4 standalone LTO-1 drives but no changer.

version 1.36.3, which is already packaged for several of the distributions
you want to use.

I could use the 1.36.3 packages - but i would have to check 1.36.3 first
if the functionality (like VSS for our win2k3 hosts) stays the same.
Afaik VSS only got implemented with 1.37.

I highly doubt it is possible to use a 1.37.38 director with 1.36.3

Besides that i found the cause of the director-crash ... the
mysql-database filles up the /var partition ... so no worries in that

For more clarity go to /usr/src/redhat/BUILD/bacula-1.37.38/src/cats/
and look at the rejected-file and the patch file, it`s just a minor
change that produces the error (patch file pointing to wrong line i think)

After that i was only having some trouble with the tray-monitor which i

One more question. After restore, Bacula sent out *very* lenghty email listing

Uh, why does it try anything with mtx ?

[Bacula-users] Combined Tape Disk Storage Solution

2005-09-01 Thread Daniel Holtkamp

Hello !

I already contacted Kern about this and he suggested that i ask the
lists about this.

We want to backup all our clients to disk and then mirror these backups
to tape. We want the ability to do quick restores from the disk (last
2-4 weeks depending on backup size) but also create a tape archive
spanning several months if we need anything that is not on the
disk-storage anymore (because the volume got recycled).

At the moment this is not implemented. If anyone knows a workaround i`m
open for suggestions.

Are there any developers out there that would like to implement this? Is
someone else even interested in this feature ? Would you support the
development of this feature ?

My company would like to support the development of this feature
financially if there is a programmer that is willing to do it.

So what are your thoughts ?

Best regards,

[Bacula-users] crashed client further backups ?

2005-08-31 Thread Daniel Holtkamp

Hi !

I`m playing with the bacula-configuration here (1.37.36) and i noticed
the following behaviour.

I started a backup-job to backup our Windows 2003 Server ... everything
ran fine till the windows-box crashed (still investigating why but this
is something else i think - not bacula related). Now the director says
the job is still running. Meanwhile i have added another backup-job to
the queue that is awaiting the end of the first job.

Now even if i cancel the windows-backup-job and the director says it is
properly canceled it still won`t go away ... from the documentation i
got the idea that it should continue after a few minutes but now i
waited an hour an nothing happened. (logfiles at bottom)

Restarting the director solved the problem, alltough i had to start the
second job again.

My concern is that when our bacula setup goes live and during the
nightly backup-run ONE client crashes during the backup and the complete
backup hangs ? Is there some sort of timeout that notices the client
isn`t sending data anymore ? Is there a way to continue the backup from
where it crashed (i doubt this functionality exists) ?

If i had a Full-Backup pool for the crashed machine with a volume
retention time of 2 months and 2 volumes maximum - what would happen if:

sunday fullbackup crashes - volume marked as used
monday - incremental gets upgraded to full - volume marked as used
tue-sat - incrementals as usual
sunday fullbackup - retention time for both used volumes are not over
so what happens ?

Hello !

Thanks for the quick response !

Well, I don't know which section in the manual you refer to, but this is
a network timeout problem and that's rather long in bacula - 2 hours, I

Ouch, 2 hours is hard ... but i guess i can configure around this
problem with allowing concurrent backups ... (for example one process
hanging and waiting for timeout and the other is backing up fine)

I'm not sure I can follow your thought

Indeed you couldn`t ;-)

I noticed an error in my example tho, the retention time for the example
should be two weeks.

The question is about the volumes and their retention time.
On the second sunday bacula would try to make a backup, check for
available volumes in the full-pool and see two volumes (remember ? 2
volumes maximum), both in the used state (one 6 days old and ok, one 7
days old and damaged from the client-crash during the backup).

At least i got the impression that a failed backup leads to a closed,
used volume ... does bacula notice that this volume is incomplete and
flag it for recycling immediately ignoring the retention time ? (as the
data in the file is incomplete anyway).

Re: [Bacula-users] include conf_file/conf_dir in bacula-dir.conf

2005-08-31 Thread Daniel Holtkamp

Dmitry S. Vlasov wrote:
Is there any directive in bacula-dir.conf file which can include files
from any folder? ( in the apache httpd server: Include)

Not exactly, i did this:

/var/bacula/bin/bacula-dir.conf

--- snip -
# Links to client-configuration-files here

@/var/bacula/bin/clients/baculacatalog.conf

@/var/bacula/bin/clients/backup.conf
@/var/bacula/bin/clients/galois.conf
@/var/bacula/bin/clients/noether.conf
--- snip -

You have to include the full path if the file is not in the same
directory as the bacula-dir.conf i think.

[Bacula-users] Pools Storage location

2005-08-24 Thread Daniel Holtkamp

Hi !

Trying to understand pools  volumes

Setup:
Let`s say i only have a Default-Pool defined. Two Clients and two
seperate jobs. Also two (File-)Storage locations. Each client backups to
a seperate storage location BUT have the default-pool configured.

Does this work ? From the configuration there seem to be no ties between
the storage location and a pool. But i don`t understand what would
happen because Volume001 of the Default pool cannot be on two storage
locations right ?

I would really appreciate some sample configuration files with multiple
clients / pools / storage locations that would help me understand how
everything is supposed to work.

Re: [Bacula-users] Re: Bacula Multiple Tape Drives

2005-08-03 Thread Daniel Holtkamp

Hi !

Now i`m on the list too, thanks for the nice explanation about the
atimes  tmpwatch ;)

Kern Sibbald wrote:
Yes, Bacula modifies atime for all files that it backs up. However, there is
an option keepatime = yes, which will cause Bacula to reset the atime on

1.37.30 and later.

This sounds very good - i`ve already setup the 1.37.30 (so no worries
about atimes) on our server and all the initial tests look promising ...
now i`m going to create a configuration for our site now ... and that
means reading the documentation ... LOTS of reading :-)

I suppose the /lib/tls warning is still valid ? We`re running RedHat
Enterprise Linux 4 WS (Our company is very RedHat oriented).
