Since it happens right away, I'm going to assume this is an oddity

Ok so I removed all packages and re-installed. No difference, however a new
identical configuration seemed to work.. Odd
One more question after a sync is complete, the BB still displayes the
'Connected to Desktop' screen.. is that a barry or opensync issue? I assume
since the sync is done it

I'm actually using the fedora rpm, just placed the file where I told you. I
have no qualms about building from your sources though, as long as the
makefile has an uninstall target ;)

Hello,
So I have it working now. Here's the deal.
You can remove the hal .fdi files, all access control has been moved back to
udev.
You place a file in /lib/udev/rules.d/69-blackberry.rules with the following
contents
ACTION!="add", GOTO="blackberry_end"
SUBSYSTEM!="usb", GOTO="blackberry_en

Sorry to be spamming the list as I go...
I also have access to two F11 systems... Their devices get
crw-rw-r-- root:vboxusers for permissions...
Recently on F12 the device gets root:plugdev ... However I'm not in that
group so that must be some HAL or *Kit thing?

So I've continued to try to see what is going on... Obviously some
permissions issues... If I copy your udev rules but still using the fedora
supplied packages, I get the same behaviour as 0.16.
In playing around a bit more, I saw that lsusb and btool -l as a regular
user show no trace of the blac

Hello,
I was just wondering where things where at with regards to the permission
issues of the usb device file on F11/F12 with the latest barry packages. I
know you had started to look at how they changed stuff from udev/hal to
devicekit etc. Any progress there? Are there newer snapshots I coul
