Hi,
I'm using 6.2b2 on XP and am seeing these three problems:
1. I have one song with the genre of "Easy Listening". It's in a
various artists album that doesn't have an ALBUMARTIST tag. Well, it's
not showing up when I browse by genre. In the genre list, I get "1
album with 1 song by 0 artists"

To my ear it sounded like these files were being transcoded to MP3 - By
default I have unlimited bitrate, etc, but perhaps something was
interferring with this. To that end I found it very difficult to
distinguish between FLAC and AAC (usually it's pre

If you select Search Music, then select Search Albums and then search
for an album containing various artists it lists the same album as many
times as there are tracks on it

Admittedly, I have a really old machine running slimserver (P2 400,
384mb ram) - It was running fine on 6.1 though playing any type of
file, and even still has low CPU usage and RAM always has about 100mb

I've written the attached script to strip audio data out of flac files.
This is useful if you need to submit sample files to slim devices for
tagging-related debugging purposes.
Contact me with any bugs/comments, etc.

Using svn 4713, I'm not seeing any sort of flac play-back problem. I'm
playing whole-album-flacs with embeded cuesheets, so I'm sending

track-flacs right now (no transcoding) and playback is flawless over

Thanks, kdf - you're right. Sorry, I should have either gotten the
latest nightlies immediately before I reported this, or reported it
sooner after I discovered it.

I have noticed some problems when transcoding from flac to mp3 and
playing them using the softsqueeze applet. I will be playing a track
fine when all of a sudden the server will stop responding and the
following appears in the log file. If I try to restart the server
service it does not respond
This should already be fixed in more recent builds.

Hi all,
Is anyone else seeing the following?
I'm using IE6, SlimServer 6.2b1/4621, WinXP (on server and client),
and Fishbone.
If I set the style to 'Default', then it looks perfect.
If I set the style to 'Tan', then I get a large gap in the middle of

Signal strength doesn't necessarily mean a whole lot when it co
Also note that the bit rate on that sample file was relatively high for
a FLAC file at 960 kbps. Shouldn't be a problem per se, but if network
bandwidth is marginal then higher bit rate tracks would be more likely
to reveal a problem.

I suspect that it's a bandwidth problem on your network. One way to
look at this is to use the "Server and Network Health" tool under Help
in the 6.2b2 release. That should give some statistics about buffer
fullness, etc.

This may sound stupid, but...
Try defragmenting your files. It may not impact you when listening
using a player on your pc, but it may impact transmittion of the files
over a network. Not sure, but worth a try.

I've done a bit more delving into this and I think it may be something
to do with the fact that I'm limiting the bit rate to 64kbps (being a

down. When I take the limiting off, it does play the music although

I noticed I have the following in my log file. This output may have been
