Hmm... but a global search (in the registry) would find redistributable?
And SC is running fine, isn't it?

If all the third party developers and their supporters (of which I am
one) changed their signatures thus, maybe we could drum up some support
for this bug and make more casual users aware of what is at stake?

Think the third party Squeeze plugins and applets are important?

I still don't understand why the Internet Radio Search function when I

Searched for redistributable from the top.
Again, nothing found.
Are you certain it should be there?
Maybe others can check also?

There are absolutely no entries in either log files. There is nothing
wrong with my setup.
Either or. If your setup is ok, then you'll have at least a few lines
about what version your running etc. in the log files. If they're really
empty, then you're probably looking at the wrong files.

It will (if you're talking about the WHS own Music share).

Yes, it's working. I have 65,000+ songs, so it could take a while to

Is it _completely_ random where it fails? Your scanner log should at
least give an indication of which file it was scanning (or just finished
scanning). See if you can detect any kind of pattern.
Personally, I would start by seeing whether or not it's a particular
file or files being scanned
Well it completed the complete rescan. So it's related to running the
service under a user account?

I've not able to reproduce this, testing with r7725. Can you give any
more details that might narrow it down? For instance, are you doing
local playback or controlling a remote player? What source of music is
it on? Local music, internet radio, any type?
