Ontbirders,
After having success yesterday with the Black-necked Stilt at
Ridgetown (just an unbeleivable bird!!), Steve Pike and I decided to
take an early morning birding run from Windsor (@ 3:00A.M!!) to Fifty
Point to get the Western Grebe before breakfast.
Hi All!
In addition to the nice birds that I saw (or didn't see as the case may be)
on my journey to Sarnia yesterday, I found an 1st year, intermediate phase
Red-tailed Hawk on my way home. The bird was sighted along Modeland Road -
between Confederation Street and Plank Road on the east
At about 4:00PM yesterday and again at about 11:00AM this morning, I saw two
Snow Geese amongst several hundred Canada Geese at the back of the quarry at
tenth road and Green Mountain Road.
Directions:
From the QEW, exit at 50 road and continue up the mountain to Green Mountain.
Turn right for
Friday, Nov.12-- the parameters that tell the Golden-crowned to come onto

stay for more than a few seconds are-- 1) every 10-30 minutes, 2) people
being fairly quiet and steady (no foot scuffling, arm waving), 3) quiet

The Black-necked Stilt was still present today (Friday, November 12) at the
sewage lagoons just north of Ridgetown. I observed it between 4:20 and 4:45
p.m. At times it disappeared for a few minutes, but eventually returned to
feed in the open lagoon immediately in front of the viewing stand or
