The White-faced Ibis was seen well by Andrew Keaveney and I today in the same
location at approximately 5:00 this afternoon.
No luck with the Harris's Sparrow.
The location is on the south side of County Road 20 at the Big Creek Bridge,
southeast of Amherstburg.

A field trip designed for two local nature clubs today yielded 66 species in 5
hours - all good numbers for York Region on May 1st except for the priceless
fact that nobody showed up. As the trip leader I carried on solo, eventually

Saturday 27 birders attended the OFO outing to Minesing Swamp. A total of 83
species were recorded with 8 more on the way home for a grand total of 91.
Highlights: 10 species of Sparrow including scope views for everyone of
Grasshopper Sparrow.

I got an email today that mentioned the hawks were really moving today, and
Skye Haas had a Swainson's Hawk over his house in Marquette, MI, so decided to
do some hawkwatching of my own. Less than 30 seconds after I sat down I had a
female-type Anhinga fly over! I got good looks through
There is a Red-necked Grebe nest with at least two eggs in Bronte
Harbour. This nest is not in the usual area. It is amongst the boats
attached to a white plastic float (likely a boat fender) that is
apparently anchored in some manner. The nest is easily visible from
shore just east of the picn
