Harbour Ottawa area are a dozen Pine Grosbeaks and 6 Common Redpolls in and out
of the cedars to the ditch.

I just wanted to correct some information posted about Darlington Provincial
Park, I was actually there myself yesterday.
The park is one of the Ontario Parks that is open all winter, which means that
a permit is required. There are self-serve permits available at the kiosk in
the park
As of noon today the male Harlequin Duck was still present on the Ottawa River
north of Bate Island.
It was in the swift moving water and rapids close to the Quebec shore in the
company of Goldeneye.
Directions:
Bate Island is in the Ottawa River accessed from the Champlain Bridge.

Those birders who stubbornly deny astronomical and meteorological reality and
claim to be compiling a “winter” bird list have been flocking to Presqu’ile
Provincial Park since December 1 and have had moderate success in their

ornamental fruit trees on English Road, Woodville, City of Kawartha Lakes Thurs
Dec. 6. First seen at 1:45 p.m.
Common Redpolls are becoming regular daily visitors in steadily increasing
numbers.

Relatively few birders reported this week. Unusual for the date, all the
snow has melted. The larger lakes are wide open.
A Northern Hawk Owl was observed in the Costello Creek Bog on the east side
of Opeongo Road, north of the bridge, from at least December 1 to 3. It may
