The Cattle Egret is currently being seen in the field with the cattle
(same field as the large tower). It is away from the cattle on the bank
on the west side of the field, out of the cold wind. Concession 1, east
of Hwy #59 on the north side.

Ken Burrell and I are watching a Mississippi
on the east side of the house mainly feeds on the ground. The
bird can be easily seen from the edge of the road. The owner has asked
that birders watch from the roadside not come in the yard.

Diane I had a very rewarding day at Long Point where we found many
spring migrants. Tundra Swans are plentiful at Big Creek in open
water on the Lake on the south side of the Causeway. At the Port Rowan
wetlands (newly de-commissioned sewage lagoons) we found a pair of
Killdeer. On the
(south of Hwy #24).
It's starting to feel sound like spring.

The Cattle Egret is in the same location as yesterday.
Take Hwy #59 north from Long Point, turn Left (west) on N/S Wal.Town
Line (north/south Walsingham Town Line). Turn Right (north) on Hazen
Road. The Egret is with cattle on the right hand side before you reach
Conc. 8.

swans all along the Causeway close to shore.

This morning there have been up to 250 pine siskins at the feeders. At one
point, while it was still raining, over 40 were bathing in the edges of the
pond out back.
Hopefully they'll continue on their migration. The niger seed is evaporating
before my eyes.

of a short shrub when I first saw it then it dropped to the ground where
it was picking up bits of grass.
This is the same spot that a Lark Sparrow was seen a couple of years ago. When
Jim heard the bird calling it was farther back closer to the trees at the back
of this property.

Today, for the first time since December, there was a flock of 20 grackles at
my feeder. I know there have been grackles along the lakeshore all winter but
we're 18 km in land, north of Long Point, so it looks like spring is on its way.
