The long staying Varied Thrush made a late appearance this morning on at
the Bark Lake conference centre feeders. We arrived at 8:50 people said it
had not been seen earlier and we didn’t see the bird until 11:20. It
dropped to the ground for several feeding over 20-30 minutes, then flew to

There are currently (3:50pm) two Greater White-Fronted Geese at 8th Line
and Brittania Road in Milton, in a flooded farm field at the NW corner of
this intersection. Also present is a White Morph Snow Goose and a number of
Tundra Swans. We had an adult, male Bald Eagle flyover as well.

We had a SBGU fly over in a large flock of mixed gulls while we were
parked outside the entrance of the Brantford Landfill. We had originally
checked at Mohawk Lake, but there were no birds presence there. We then
drove to the dump entrance and after a short wait had a large flock fly
over and
I have seen what I believe are both of the individual slaty backed gulls at
the Brantford dump this morning. One flew over at 8:20 AM and headed toward
mohawk lake. The second flew closer at 8:40 am, and was flying north to
south. The dump is open. You go to the scales and sign in. The folks
At 2pm today we had a Nelson’s Sparrow at Cranberry Marsh at the north
viewing platform on Halls Road. It was 10 feet beyond the railing and
popped up out of the reeds and into view 3 times, each one fleeting, but
enough to ID it.
There was also a Rough-Legged Hawk in a tree on the east side of
Jean Iron and I just saw the Western at Presquile. It’s at Owen Point, lookout
5. Peregrines keep scaring the flock it’s in and it keeps returning. It’s
close, but patience is required to separate it from the Semipalms.
Presquile P P is near Brighton. Take the 401 and head south to the lake.
ARTE found by Dominik showing at Bronte this morning 6:45-7:15.

I saw a Pacific Loon in non breeding plumage, complete with necklace at around

opposite side of the Y peninsula opposite Pipit Point at Leslie Spit. It has
moved and I’m trying to relocate it. I will post again if re found.
Brant continues at Windermere Basin in Hamilton. It’s to the left of the

No Fork-Tailed Flycatcher at the Spit today - Monday - I searched from

Happy Birding.
