Festival of Flight: The festival is over but good birding will likely
continue in the weeks ahead. The last day was dampened by heavy rains in

Talbot Land Trust property at Hawk Cliff Woods. Highlights included

Today was one of those days that really makes a sunburnt nose
worthwhile. Wayne was the first guy out at around 5:15 this morning and
was surprised to find 85 Whimbrel resting on the stone pier just north
of Whimbrel Point. They were surprised to
Heard, not seen, about 3:30 p.m., on Sarsaparilla Trail between Bell's Corners
and Kanata, southwest of Ottawa.
Bird was heard -- a very distinctive song for these parts -- at the end of the
trail, in a tall tree, by the lake.

This morning, there was a lingering, worn and grotty-looking Snowy Owl perched
on a cattle corral at the intersection of Perth Line and Road 169.

The Festival of Birds is going out with a bang. There are many migrants still
to be seen and heard at the Tip and on the Woodland Trail. 20 species of
warblers have been reported already today, including CANADA, WILSON'S,
MOURNING, YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT, CONNECTICUT, NORTHERN PARULA and the
