On May 5, at 3:34 pm, along with many other birders, saw a single Lawrence’s
Warbler on the Woodland Trail, about 100 ft. from the northern entry point to
the trail. The bird had a yellow crown, black ear patch, black throat patch,
yellow breast, and white wing bars.

Today's OFO outing to the Toronto Islands was attended by 26 birders. The
majority of these 26 persisted throughout the day (although our numbers
thinned a bit after word got out about the Chat at Colonel Sam Smith Park)
and were treated to a collective total of 96 species (95 + crow sp.). The

I was out on a bike ride at about 5:40 or so and I had a Pileated fly over my
head squacking and heading north east towards Malden and Huron line road. The
bird was seen at the Malden road entrance to the park right over the 2 main
ponds.

For those interested, the chat is still present at the most southern
parking lot in a thicket along the southwest trail. Listen for song as it
is singing loud and proud.

A single bird was found at Morgan's Point CA in Port Colborne this afternoon. I
heard the bird sing once and it was later sight-confirmed by Jean Farnan. The
bird was found in behind the pines, approximately 25m north of the small gravel
car park that is located near the point on the west side

Despite low numbers in Rondeau today, the diversity is still high! The Kentucky
warbler was re-found today on the section of Water St near the Marsh Trail
parking lot around 12:00. The female Cerulean Warbler has been and is still
showing well at Beach

At 12:45 the bird was feeding and sometimes singing at the north east
corner of the parking lot near the marina. It is mostly in bare Maple
trees. Quite low and in the open.

Bird activity continues to increase in the park along with the number of
birders resulting in a nice variety of reports.
Highlights this morning included Prothonotary Warbler, Hooded Warbler, Cerulean
Warbler, Golden-winged Warbler, Yellow-breasted Chat, Summer Tanager, Sedge

Festival of Flight May 5th (Morning)
A busy morning here at Rondeau, with the birds following the same pattern as
the past few days. The action is primarily in the north end of the park at
Maintenance Trail as well as the Marsh Trail. Three Prothonotary Warblers have
been spotted on Bennett
We just had a Summer Tanager on Toronto Islands (on the OFO trip). It's by the
daycare building on Algonquin Island, which is at the west end of Algonquin
Island. First spotted by Eric Baldo.

Hi All,
we just had a Swallow-tailed Kite fly over (07:05am) the Prince Edward
Point Bird Observatory heading east out over the lake, keep an eye out for
it nearer Kingston.
