Hi there
I am currently viewing a Long-billed Dowitcher, seen looking west from the dyke
at Shirleys Bay. It is foraging with a Pectoral near the tip of the peninsula
of reeds.
To access the dyke you must be an OFNC member and must call DND beforehand
Good birding

If you ever wanted to see what a perfect Raptorwatching day can be, you should
have been out at the Hill today. Northwest winds, rising barometric pressure,
and at least 50% cloud cover for a backdrop. There was a lot of watchers today
and I will name them all

the other ponds at Hillman
There was also a Wilson's snipe and a few other shorebirds.

Kit McCann found a Cattle Egret this afternoon at Hillman Marsh Shorebird Cell
and we are currently looking at it. It looks pretty comfortable and will
probably be around if anyone's interested in chasing it, at least for a good
part of the day.
Hillman Marsh is on Mersea Rd 2, about 6km east
