Attachments don't load with Email To... (Send)
Hi, I'm finding when I send a file using Email To... (Send) or Email Item (Send...), via the Mail app, the file doesn't attach to the email. When I do it using Email To (Compose) or Email Item (Copose) it works fine. Running 1.6.0 with Mojave. Any ideas much appreciated! Re: Proxy objects not working
That's sorted it - so helpful as ever Rob, much appreciated. One other issue since the Mojave installation - trigger commands for toggling the visibility of applications are behaving erratically. Sometimes they're just sluggish, taking a few seconds to work. Other times they require an extra push - for instance, my shortcut for "toggle the visibility of Safari" is CTRL-Spacebar, and it works if I press CTRL again after spacebar. Proxy objects not working
Hi, I can't currently get either "Current Selection" or "Current document" to work. I normally use triggers for these, but doing it manually doesn't work either. In fact just invoking "Current document" in the object pane - without doing anything with it - immediately brings up a notification saying "No current document - unable to select current document from [application]" "Current website" is working fine. I'm running QS 1.6.0 and recently installed Mojave. Any ideas on what could be causing this? Transferring QS preferences to new Mac
Hi, I'm moving to a new computer, and want to set up QS with my old triggers, plugins etc. I don't want to use Migration Assistant and bring my old User library over as my old computer was buggy and I don't want to transfer whatever was causing it. I've copied the "Quicksilver" folder into Library/Application support, and "com.blacktree.Quicksilver.plist" into LibraryPreferences, but that hasn't worked. I should note that the above refers to the HD Library - there's no Library in my "User" file because as I mentioned I was nervous about transferring it. I am guessing this is where the problem lies, but as you can see I have no real idea what I'm doing. Running Sierra 10.12.4 on a new Macbook Pro. Formatting text in Quicksilver
Copying text into and out of QS has the excellent effect of putting it into the correct size, font and colour for the document it's copied into. However, currently to do this I invoke QS, press ".", ⌘V, ⌘A, ⌘C, ESC twice to exit QS, then ⌘V into the new document. It occurs to me that if I could bring these 8 keystrokes down to, say, 5, I would probably save enough time to do all those other things I thought I'd do when I grew up. does anyone know if there's a quicker way? Re: Text not wrapping
I've just noticed something else odd: - If I select the non-wrapped text and cut and paste it back into the object pane, it wraps correctly - but only if I *cut* and paste - not copy and paste. - But if I then re-invoke QS, which of course opens with the same text loaded in the object pane, and press ".", it no longer wraps. - If I then press Command + V, to paste the same text again from the clipboard, it remains unwrapped. - But if I select all and cut and paste again, it wraps! - Even when wrapped though, it's not reliably letting me scroll up and down the text using the trackpad (but is with the arrow keys). Re: TotalSpaces QuickSilver Integration
I'm not using the Hide Other Applications feature, no. Generally I have all my windows fit to the screen boundaries, so no need to hide. When switching applications I just use a 'Toggle visibility of [Application]' trigger or occasionally Mac's 'Move focus to next/active window'. I don't really need to see application icons on a desktop as I invoke them straight from QS - and generally access the desktop via QS too. But I'm guessing you're doing much more sophisticated things than me and so need them grouped. Opening search-generated URLs in the background
Hello, Is it possible to open URLs in the background when they're generated by searches? For instance, if I invoke the Google search page as the object, and 'Search for' as the action (or use a trigger to do this), and then type something into the argument pane, is it possible to run this search in the background, the way I normally would open a URL in the background using ⌘↵? Or to start with a proxy object like Current Selection, then select 'Find with' as the action and 'Google' as the argument - but again to run this in the background? My dull-witted ideas were to collapse the command into the object pane and then look for something like 'Run in background' as an action; or to tab back from the argument pane to the action pane and press ⌘↵. But neither of these work. Many thanks, Adam -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups Quicksilver group. Typing within object snaps to top-level search
Hello, Correct me if I'm wrong, but normally in QS, once I drill down into an object using / or →, I can then type letters and the search will snap to objects containing those letters *within the object I first invoked.* Currently when I do this, it resets to a new top-level search. So for instance if I invoke 'Applications', drill into it and then type ib, instead of snapping to iBooks which is within Applications, it snaps to Library. I've looked at the preferences and it's set to reset the search after 2.5 seconds, which is much longer than I\m taking to start typing. Re: Quicksilver problems with Yosemite? (cant move or resize windows)
Yes as Jon says it sounds like BetterSnapTool https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/bettersnaptool/id417375580?mt=12 is what you want. I use a combination of that and Afloat http://afloat.en.softonic.com/mac for manipulating windows. BetterSnapTool lets you use shortcuts to resize windows and position them wherever you like, whether a pre-defined position or a bespoke one. Afloat lets you make windows 'sticky', so they stay on the top layer even if you click another window behind them, or gives them varying degrees of transparency. I have these set up with the same modifier keys as I use for triggers that involve a whole 'window' I'm working on, e.g. 'current document' triggers, so you don't actually need to remember you're using a different programme from QS. For instance, ranking open URL above Look Up in Dictionary in the URL table of Actions Preferences makes no difference: so long as Look Up in Dictionary is ranked higher in the Text table, URLs will default to that action. This means I have to set the default action for text to open URL - which is obviously not ideal for when I want to invoke actual text objects in the first pane. Running 1.1.3 in Mavericks. Get Spotlight Results
Does anyone know if the Get Spotlight Results action is still useable? It always comes up empty for me. It's true I could just use Spotlight itself - and I believe in the next Mavericks update it's going to be in the centre of the screen, QS-style. But I prefer doing things with QS whenever possible. Re: Move Quicksilver
I can do this using apps that allow me to move windows around generally. I use a windows manager called Afloat (you can get it here http://infinite-labs.net/afloat/ free), which allows you to grab and move windows with the mouse from anywhere within the window, And I use BetterSnapTool https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/bettersnaptool/id417375580?mt=12 to move windows to specified areas of the screen using keyboard shortcuts. Dictionary and Google Calendar plug-ins disabled
Hi, I can't remove the Dictionary and Google Calendar plug-ins from the 'disabled' list. They are both also ticked in the 'installed list'. Is this normal? Re: 'Current Selection' triggers failing
Testing with a new account was interesting. 'Current Selection...' triggers still don't work, but this time instead of doing nothing, they simply activate Quicksilver. They don't open a new command and action window, but they activate the program, so that if, say, the 'Catalog' page is open, that window comes to the front. Or if no QS page is open, just the menu bar appears. The one exception is the pre-existing 'Current Selection Select in Command Window' trigger ( Esc). That works correctly. If you’re in Finder, the Finder plug-in will take over and get the file(s). Something similar happens when you have a track or playlist selected in iTunes. In most cases, no plug-in claims to know what to do for the current application, so it falls back to a “best effort”, which is to copy the selection to a temporary pasteboard, then stick that into the interface. This fallback behavior seems to be what’s failing for you. Try this: 1. Select some text 2. Copy it with ⌘C 3. Invoke Quicksilver 4. Paste into the first pane with ⌘V I’m hoping that will sort-of mimic the behavior that happens behind the scenes. -- Rob McBroom http://www.skurfer.com/ -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups Quicksilver group. What do you see in the Triggers preferences where Current Selection should be? Is it something like :QSGlobalSelectionProxy? We’ve recently found problems if triggers are loaded before the catalog is scanned. I suspect that’s what happened. It’s compounded by a bug in 1.1.3 that changes the identifiers in the trigger if something isn’t in the catalog yet. (This prevents a restart from fixing it.) What I'd like to do is move windows between Spaces without having to use the mouse to click and hold at the top of the window while using the Mission Control shortcuts. Ideally I'd like to set up a trigger to move Current Document, Current Web Page etc. to different spaces. I'm using Afloat, which allows me to take control of windows from the keyboard without having to use the mouse... but of course while the Afloat shortcut keys are pressed, the Mission Control shortcuts don't work. I'm using QS 1.1.3 with Mavericks. Many thanks, Adam -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups Quicksilver group. Re: QS and Mission Control
Sorry, when I wrote 'Afloat' I meant 'Better Snap Tool'. On Friday, February 14, 2014 7:42:48 PM UTC, Adam Rosenthal wrote: Does anyone know if QS can interact with Mission Control? I don't think it's still supported, because I don't remember seeing source code for it. I wasn't even aware that it was still available for download ;-). Neither was I, but it looks like it will show up if you’re running build 3926 or older. What version of Quicksilver are you running? The latest official release is 1.1.3. -- Rob McBroom http://www.skurfer.com/ -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups Quicksilver group. Accessing individual contacts
Hi everyone, QS is being erratic about offering lists in the object pane. When I type co, Contacts comes up. But then when I type / or →, sometimes it offers me a list of contacts, but other times it keeps showing the list of items starting 'co-'... Last Command, iCloud etc. - and I can't view my contacts individually. Even though there's a next to 'Contacts' at the top of the list. And then it suddenly starts behaving normally again. Also, even when I can go deeper into the Contacts list and retrieve individual items, I can't invoke them in the object pane just by typing their names in - they're not offered anywhere in the resulting lists. The only way I can get to them is through the Contacts list (when that decides to work). I've tried copying Contacts in the catalogue sources, but it doesn't give me an option to configure depth of search. (I've read some of the previous Contacts-related topics - yes Quicksilver is authorised to access Contacts in my preferences.) Thanks in advance, sorry if, as seems likely, I'm being an idiot. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups Quicksilver group.
