If so, the only real way is to either take the physical battery out of the
machine, or to look up the specs of the motherboard on the internet, but
anyway...

Not in the computer itsself as such, but you also mentioned a UPS in that

Honestly, the simplest is to get a technician to look at the physical
battery since there are generic ones as well which would be a bit cheaper
than the original ones from the motherboard manufacturer.
