I failed to change the subject line a couple of post ago so I am making the
correction. We'll keep it going for the foreseeable future at least. In a
week or 2 I will have been doing this for 5 years already. I didn't think it
would last this long at all.

I am having the same exact problem with all versions of Jaws, Windows 7 and

It is still happening here, I am beginning to wonder if it is a jaws 64
thing. As far as I am aware my pc is fully upto date.
This is becoming a really annoying problem, I wonder if others out here are
having this problem? If so perhaps FS should be made aware. Really dont

Hi all.
I got frustrated with it on 64 bit so much so that I have switched back
to 32 bit and will do so for the forseeable future.

Hi Graham.
No I don't think it's a JAWS problem at all. NVDA even had this problem
too. So I think it's a Windows 7 64 bit problem.

No gram, your 64 bit version is just fine and jaws has nothing to do with this.
Please keep in mind that because you see these posts on these lists it doesn't
make it true. If you run a Google search you will find that 32 bit versions of
Windows 7 have this problem too. Last night I spent some
Ok, any ideas how e can solve it on my 64 bit machine?

My problem is not spontaneous, but rather happens consistently. I have
noticed however; that if I reboot and use windows explorer I can navigate
the files and folders a little longer than I can if I have been using it for
a while. But either way, explorer will certainly stop working.
Exactly the same problem I had guys. A reboot fixed it for a while then,
oops, it's back! I just could not take it anymore hence the switch to 32
bit.

Ok thanks will wait to see what happens, but surely some sighted people
using Explorer would not be able to put up with this happening all the time.
I assume that by what you are saying it is not just afecting us screen

Chris, outside of your personal experience, do you have any information or link
that clearly states this is a Windows 64 bit problem and that going back to 32
bit fixes this?

Hi all.
Andre thanks for the clarification. In that case I would agree this is a
Microsoft problem and they should fix it by the time the first service
pack for Windows 7 comes out. That's my hoping anyway. I guess I and
others are very lucky in that we may have this problem on one platform
No, screen reader has nothing to do with this. I will say that on occasion I
get the same error the person posted but it states FS something was at fault.
Usually its Explorer.exe that causes the explorer crash. Yes, you're correct,
as I said, lots of research last night, people are P/O. At

Yes, I too agree that this is a major thumbs down on Windows 7's explorer

Hay can someone tell me about the 200 dollar package for jaws to use this mode

windows xp! I got it off the windows seven podcast part3.
