That wasa the problem. Doing it that way picks up the installed drivers. The
right way to run brltty out of its build tree is to use the run-brltty script
that's in the top

What OS are you running on your Lenovo?
I use a T520 here, with Centos 6, I dont have any problems compiling
brltty here.

I'm just running the stock android Nougat 7.1.1, and I installed
Brltty latest apk from the website.
I have no programming knowledge whatsoever, (I wish I did,
because then I'd be able to help more great people with
technology needs). My VoiceNote Apex bt is running KeySoft
version 9

Sorry, I can't help you there, my knowledge is limited to Linux in
general and Centos in particular.

I really hope I can get this sorted before Friday next week, it's
Saturday here right now. I'm going on a bit of a fun journey for
2 days (from Friday to Saturday) and need the apex to connect to
my tablet. Thanks for everyone's help.
