I have two ICOM 7300 radios that I use in MARS and SHARES. The radios are
controlled via a single USB cable from the Windows 11 Pro computer. The
problem is that the computer does not correctly identify the COM port. One
radio USB port is COM3 and the other radio is COM4. I have two computers

Yes, I have, go on Youtube
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4C14wbc5sJY and it will show you which
part to remove.
Steady hand as the part is small and close to others, heat with a soldering
and remove the part with a pic or tip of a knife.

Yes Sir the callsign is good break in. Keeps the old Marine Aviators from
blowing twice on the mic or the old Naval Aviators from saying "Uaah" to
give the radio time to key the transmitter. On the 7290 traffic net,
the leader often asks for check-ins. Makes everyone realize that in a

Well I was just welding on some pipe for a Inverted V support but I don't
think that is the kind of plumbing you are looking for and I am way up in
N. Louisiana. Always good to see BVARC being use as a resource. Will

I have a 5500 watt diesel generator that gives me plenty of power but the
waveform of the 60Hz power is flat topped and very rough (bad power for
good equipment). I am looking for a source of an AC-AC inverter that would
take that bad power and convert it to pure sine wave. Does anyone have any
Russ, KI5FHW,
Just curious; what sort of radio do you have? Maybe the answer is a bit
more antenna. Lots of great ones can be bought or built. I am way off in
N. Louisiana so I only get to hang with the fellows on HF and recently on
Zoom for a great talk. Get some copper pipe, build yourself a

Lightning is interesting. The strike begins when the electrons that have
been scrubbed from the air by rain or snow are deposited on the ground
(generally). A negative charge builds where the earth acts like the plate
of a capacitor. With no other path the charge gets great enough to find
the
Mark,
There are some very good contact cleaners around but if the plastic is
trashed, may be time for an upgrade. 40 years is a long time. I had to
pitch my brick, just dead, no life in it at all. Looked it over but saw no
way to proceed. May have to get a new one though my IC2300 with a
orried, since I am sure others have Zoom accounts as well.)
