and identified it one week later at the refuge when consulting their field
guides. I saw a large, brown weasel-type creature, about the size of a

A trip along the wildlife drive at Montezuma just after 7 PM tMonday yielded
some nice views at Eaton Marsh of a pair of Trumpeter Swans preening in the
gorgeous evening light, while a rather mottled-looking American Golden-Plover
picked along a ridge of mud behind them. Greater and Lesser Yell

It's a good site (discounting the obvious bias towards one side of the issue

I'm gonna come out in favor of keeping the drive pedestrian-free. I know other
places that do have pedestrians (Forsythe's lovely auto loop comes to mind) are
quite successful and enjoyed by many, but in Montezuma's case, what would be
the gain? The pedestrians I've seen on our drive push thro

Sandpiper on the main pool, and the Willow Flycatcher at Tschache. Add that to
a spectacular morning at the Pathways trail in Phelps, plus a hearty brunch at
the Blue Ribbon diner, and this was a nearly perfect day. :)

Hello!
After the Montezuma/RBA field trip today, several of us headed over to Van Dyne
Spoor for some later-evening birding. A young Peregrine Falcon was once again
perched on the power poles, just like last week, but this time we briefly saw
its leg band colors: the right leg had a blue band
I had some free time after an RBA field trip today and headed to Montezuma to
bird a bit in the gray and soggy afternoon. I actually had quite a bit of fun,
from watching the Armitage Road eagles while Pileated Woodpeckers called in the
woods (one eventually was seen flying across the road towa
