There's a Whip-poor-will singing in my yard (south Newfield). We use to have
one every spring but I don't recall hearing one here for at least 20 years

I spent some time at the Great Horned Owl nest on the Newman Golf Course this
morning. For the first time, there was NO adult around, so I guess the parents

2 BROWN THRASHER yard birds!
Last year I had here 3 Brown Thrashers - I presumed they were a parent and 2
juveniles, hanging around the road edge and eating the bird food I put on the
ground in my front yard each day (I have the fattest squirrels in the county).
