All,
I just had a gorgeous female RED-NECKED PHALAROPE in the mudflat area
across the Susquehanna River from the guard rail on River Rd Endwell. The
bird was on the edge of the mudflat at the river's edge with spotted
sandpipers and least sandpipers. The bird unfortunately flushed with the

Jason Huck reports a RED-NECKED PHALAROPE in the North Mill Pond in Union
Springs yesterday morning. He says it was swimming and foraging in the
northeast corner of the pond. If anyone has a chance to check to see if it
is still there today, please post your results.

Sara Jane and I did a quick look-see at the Montezuma visitor center and
the auto loop around 2:00 yesterday. A docent reported seeing the(?)
RED-NECKED PHALAROPE at the visitor center in the am. As we started the
auto loop, we were surprised to find the phalarope close up at Larue's.

looked through my eBird reports and the first record I have is a
Lesser Yellowlegs on May 3 and Dunlin on May 5. I've made this an
eBird hotspot so it'll be easier for everyone to find and enter their
birds.

A juvenile RED-NECKED PHALAROPE just landed on the weed mat off Stewart
Park, along with a Baird's Sandpiper, two Ruddy Turnstones, and several
Least and Semipalmated sandpiper. No sign of a jaeger.
