Does it trust CoS or DSCP? Well, basically, I guess what does it trust, it trust just like the Router is trusting anything and relaying any QoS markings, am I right? It should work. One thing I noticed is to remove e164 addresses from GK static binding. The reason is that your RRQ request is sending multiple DNs but you are configuring two only on GK. Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] gateway failed to register to GK
What I said to remove only e164 numbers not full static binding. Your numbers received in RRQ aren't matching the numbers configured in your static binding. This miss match create issue. Do one thing .. Disable e164 registration to gatekeeper on gateway . then use static binding on GK. This won't send DNs in RRQ and then you can add any DNs in manual mapping. There is a mismatch between the configured DNs on GK and the actual DNs sent from gateway. Try not to configure DNs in static binding. [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Output Queue mappings
Hello, As I know Packet to output Queue mapping in SRR is done based on QoS label, and QoS label is based on the trust. For instance is DSCP is trusted then the QoS label is generated based on DSCP, and if the CoS has been trusted then the QoS label is generated by the CoS value. Please refer to QoS configuration on 3560 Figure 31-1. So based on that, when the CoS is trusted, the output queue is using the CoS mappings, while when the DSCP is trusted, then the DSCP queue mappings are used. ___ For more information regarding industry leading CCIE Lab training, please visit www.ipexpert.com Are you a CCNP or CCIE and looking for a job? Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] Frame Relay Traffic Shaping
Yes FRTS uses average traffic shaping. Peak shaping can't be achieved in FRTS. Now setting Be to zero depends on the requirement. Zero means that you won't exceed your CIR. But if it has a value then you can exceed the CIR based on debt and compound debt concept as in policing with be value (single color dual bucket). Re: [OSL | CCIE_Voice] QoS for HWIC module
Hi, Just to make this clear. Trusting in HWIC module isn't similar to catalyst switches. For incoming, tagged packets, the Cisco EtherSwitch module honors the CoS value; the packets are buffered in a high-priority queue for CoS values 4 to 7 and scheduled for expedited forwarding. The low-priority queue is used for packets with CoS values 0 to 3. Untagged frames will use the default CoS value configured per-port. Regarding SRR configuration, HWIC support SRR with default settings, i.e. you can't tune it. This is the reason of not recognizing any command for SRR configuration. Hope its clarified now. Suggest you use rack rentals to familiarize yourself with all the hardware and do a few labs. Then get some local hardware phones connecting to the pod remotely. You can then decide whether to do it yourself as it is expensive to put everything together. The rack rental guide shows all the hw sw needed. Good luck with your studies.
