I have a great reluctance to store and send office documents via the web. To return tiffs and docs, I typically throw them into pdfs for display. (The docs get converted when uploaded, so they are stored on disk as PDF) The tiffs get thrown into a pdf on-the-fly (used to use ghostscript to do

I honestly don't know. I have never needed to get imput back from a user in this way. That pretty much precludes a PDF, since you don't want to require your users to have a pdf writer as well as the free reader, and you can't draw over it in a browser (afaik) Jerry On 6/13/06, Peterson, Chris

There are two different times you are dealing with. Server processing time. User perceived time. You can accurately measure the server processing time easily using cold fusion. grab the startTick at the top of your page. grab the endTick at the end of your page. display the difference as load

Verity can either index the source files, or it can index the browser-product version. Do you want to index the content of the cfm as it sits on disk, or do you want to index the content of the cfm as it appears to the browser? To index the source files (.htm, .pdf), use Verity the normal way.

Crow, You should be able to fake it by building your own spider (just do a directory listing, turn the filename into a url, and pass the url to the indexer, one beautiful page at a time). Yes, I've done this (last summer) to index PDFs stored on Federal Court websites. On 5/24/06, Crow T. Robot
