Thanks to Andrea! I will also make a short video about how I work with timelines to give a little summary. The video will follow. Sam On 29.12.19 17:54, Phyllis Smith wrote: Andrea, thanks for clarification and the short easy to understand demos on "Multiple Timelines". I never know the

The problem is that professional NLEs have been using this feature for a long time, but Cinelerra has not. All detours to simulate multiple timelines are only detours and no real solutions. "Nested Clips" and "Edit EDL" are not multiple timelines. Nested Clips and Edit EDL functions can be used

I agree with Sam: it is true that we can easily do with nested clips/nested assets or with the various sub-projects. But the ability to work on separate sections of the EDL opens up many features and possibilities (a future support for metadata and ICC, for example; or compatibility with other

I always use Nesting feature, for more complex projects, like showed in the my old screencasts. https://lists.cinelerra-gg.org/pipermail/cin/2019-September/001051.html And in the CinelerraGG_manual_WorkInProgress (well done) in 5.7.8 section you can find more information.
