I'm wondering if the PPPoE server functionality is simply broken?

rather not use BVI's and bridiging, as they don't seem to scale nicely.
Any suggestions?

We switched to MX about a year ago. A pair of MX-240 routers.
Price and maintenance costs were the factors that drove us towards switching to
Juniper.
Honestly, after a year of living with them, even if they cost the same as
Cisco, I'd still go for the Junipers.

We use RANCID on our network. All changes are made through the CLI on the
routers/switches, and RANCID just tracks them.
If we have an outage where we have to re-build the router's config, we have the
versions and changes all stored nicely in the CVS.
All changes are e-mailed to our NOC
Has anyone seen an issue with a NPE-G2 where insertion or removal of a USB
flashdrive causes the router to crash and reboot?
This happened to one of our routers earlier today.

Looks like Cisco went and removed a bunch of IOS release from the
website in May. Not sure if this has already been discussed here.

Anyone with older
their equipment just in case something happens, because
apparently you can't get it from Cisco anymore.

Typically DSX-1 signal outputs from the SIJ are limited to 655 feet.

7200 ethernet interfaces should not throttle on input queue full drops
Most likely you are seeing micro burst that are coming in faster
than the CPU can drain the rx ring.

No luck... didn't fix it. Is it fixed in a subsequent release? Are
there any other parameters I can tune?
Not really
An NPE-G1 easily handles 2 full ATM-OC3's worth of L2TP tunnels.
We have several of these in production, and typically hit around 60% CPU
utilization.
