problem you experienced was one of the reasons it's now included, considering
that the version of clamav included in etch broke after some time.

BTW, there were a LOT of changes to clamd.conf between 0.90.1 and 0.95.3 so
it's my suggestion to make a backup copy of /etc/clamav/clamd.conf (if you
like), replace clamd.conf during installation
, the socket will
eventually get created, but I doubt you want to wait 15 minutes or so after
each pattern update for the signatures to be loaded and the socket to be
created. The only cure is to upgrade. Try running clamscan on a file and
observe how long it takes.

What version of ClamAV? If you are using a 0.90.x version, you need to upgrade.
There is an issue where it may take 0.90.x up to 15 minutes to create the clamd
socket.

You can read amavisd.conf-sample for more information. These settings are in a
section called:
$banned_filename_re = new_RE();
This section is most likely the section that is controlling which files
amavisd-new bans.

If you are already using latest version from volatile, then I dunno.

libclamav2

YMMV, use at your own risk (use apt-get -s --purge remove... to first simulate
removal).

/spool/amavisd/clamd.sock. Does anybody knows what to do ??
Apreciate any help
Kind regards

Make sure clamd is running, give it a minute to start up. AFAIK the socket
is not created until the database is fully loaded.

Find what you need at prices youll love. Compare products and save
experience should differ. I would rather it simply put stuff in reasonably
predictable places, then left it up to me to finish the configuration (if
needed). The complexity of the package left me wanting something I could at
least predict.

attachments? Can I change that?
