LS, I use several machines and found that most of the time the use of the 'clamav-daemon.socket' file only leads to a startup failure of clamd. Why is this file file in the first place? I ask this because clamd is already creating the socket - that is, when the socket was not created

LS, The idea is noble, allowing clamd to drop privileges and thus being less vulnerable to manipulations. Running Clamonacc as root and feeding clamd with only the fd of a file. Alas, this still requires clamd to have read permission to read a file outside it's own user and group settings.

LS, I noticed a significant degradation of the performance on my systems, which ended when I stopped clamonacc. As I looked further, it seems that clamonacc is constantly looping around the same file. As far as I can tell, the last file it scanned - but not sure about that. I can easily

I get things compiled etc., but testing clamd keeps on failing. I tried three different machines/CPU's to no avail. I use OpenSUSE Tumbleweed with newest cmake etc. One remark: using 'make -j [n]' instead of ninja only takes less than 2 seconds longer to build things. So, the 'big speed up'
