I just upgraded to Xubuntu 20.04 and Clementine 1.4 rc1 came along for the
ride. The player is now remembering my column layout, which was the most
annoying thing, for me anyway, of the 1.3 version. Thanks to everyone who
is working on this program. It's working great for me.

Something I've wondered about is how does Clementine know when something in
the music library has been changed or added? Without wading through the

an efficiency point of view, it doesn't seem like a file tree walk can be

Apparently, I have created a Genre entry named "jazz" (it is now being

I always download a Folder.jpg of the album cover for every album I add to

Sure. Select "All Tracks" from the Smart playlists and then set "Shuffle
all" from the shuffle icon located on the bottom bar immediately to the
left of the play timer bar.

I'm using Clementine Version 1.4 rc1 on my Xubuntu desktop. Clementine
runs pretty continuously, playing music from my library. Maybe once every
day or two I get a pop-up error window that says:

I think this often happens right at the end of a playing song. However

I'm on Xubuntu. I just upgraded from 20.02 to 22.02.1 and it was a
miserable experience with many things breaking. I'm getting back to normal

big and I cannot determine why. It is the only app exhib
I asked a question about Clementine's improper font scaling after an
upgrade to Xubuntu 22.04.1 but there were no responses, so I thought I
would build it myself and see if the problem resolved. My current player

I recompiled clementine from source and the fonts still remain too large,
so I'm still looking for any pointers as to what happened in Xubuntu that
is responsible for this strange behavior.

application displaying this font scaling problem, I'm still focusing on the
problem being with Clementine rather than elsewhere. If we could pin
things down between builds, that would be useful.

I reported this to the Qt team and they said "This doesn't seem like a bug
in Qt." :-(

Just to make the issue clearer, here is a comparison of headers from
various programs
showing how clementine and vlc are display fonts as compared to all others.

So, any suggestions are appreciated.

I'm fairly sure that this is another Qt issue, but ever since upgrading to
Xubuntu 22.04, not only is the entire Clementine display scale out of wack,
but the default responses to pop-up dialogs has also changed. In the past,
when I saved a playlist, I hit return to accept the proper default fi
QT_SCALE_FACTOR=0.9
before launching clementine, I was able to get the display back into some
reasonable state. Others with different screen resolutions might play
around with the scaling factor to see what works best. Regards.
