Bill. Here's a link to a West Marine Adviser paper: Selecting a Sanitation
System | West MarineMy last boat had the "Holding Tank with Optional Overboard
Discharge" but not sure it is legal except offshore.
A really good reference is a pdf file available online from the state of New
Jersey
When I purchased my 35 Mk II (Expresso) in 1998 it had a bladder tank stuck
under the "V" berth. I assume it was installed by the previous owner.
Therefore, I assume she did not have a rigid tank installed by the
manufacturer.

I would say that it probably could be repaired but probably won't be worth
it. Just get new ones. I looks like the volvo site should be helpful. I
didn't have your engine model so I got stopped pretty early in the search.
Hi All,
I have a Volvo Penta 2003 in my C 35 and I developed a leak in the flow line
that screws into the injector. Diesel is leaking ( spurting) out between the
bolt and the line just above the injector. I cleaned about 500cc out of the
bilge :-( I have not unscrewed it yet and before I do I
That is a good question. I have a 35mkii and it has a black water “tank” behind
the head. It is not connected and I would like to reconnect it. Does any one
know what size (gallons) it is? It seem to be somewhat collapsable - is it? Are
they robust? Can they be removed/replaced? The only outlet
Mast step supports often softening. Balsa in deck only, check deck fastening
areas for softness. Helluva good boat. Had mine 12 yrs so far, freshwater,
winter hauled, zero blisters

Hey all, I'm about to go through with a survey on a 1980 C 30, noted a few
things on my own initial inspection, curious if other 30 owners of this vintage
have had similar repairs and how much of a concern the repairs were.
Here’s what I found:
- Moisture along the top of the raised dorade
Many listers use this: http://www.pbase.com/mainecruising/butyl_tape
I simply put a few applications of Captain Tolley's Creeping Crack Cure
between the toe rail and deck every other year or so.

I used two runs of the Compass Marine butyl, one next to the other. No
leaks. Also wrapped a little butyl around the head of the bolt, to assure no
water would get down the bolt hole.

I need to repack the toe rails on my 32 C The original packing was
butyl. Compass Marine sells this but it is a very narrow and extremely thin
material, less wide than the toe rails. Does anyone have a source or know
the original source of the material used by C? If so please contact me
