For years I had a problem where the starting circuit wouldn't always make contact. You could tell because the low oil pressure alarm wouldn't come on. I had thought I'd narrowed it down to the harness at the engine since I could wiggle it to get the engine started. It finally got bad enough

John, Somewhere out there is a wiring diagram for adding a second solenoid to a Yanmar. It's a common problem. I tried googling it, but I could not find it straight away, don't have lots of time this AM but it IS out there. This is a good thread for a possible fix:
