Reviewing photographs taken at the south end of Horsetooth Reservoir, I now
count about 10 (!) Thayer’s Gulls, ranging from pale to dark. Some
representative shots are posted at

Steve Mlodinow called 2 minutes ago to tell me that he and Tim Smart
were looking at a COMMON GROUND DOVE (only a few prev CO records)
near Julesberg. The phone connection was bad, but I thot he said go
east on I-76, go north toward Julesberg on 287. Watch for a sign ON THE
LEFT that says

Today my family and I went out insearch of Thayer's Gulls and it was a
success! We went from either side (south to north) of the resivour,
and the lake on the north side. Here is what we saw:
70+ Ring-billed Gulls
6 Thayer's gulls
7 Herring Gulls
1 Dark-eyed Junco (by call couldn't tell
The Common Ground-Dove was re found and photographed by Loch Killpatrick,
Peter Gent, Joey Kellner, Joe Roller and myself. The bird was in the same
location described earlier, but can be tough to locate. Photos will be
posted later. Thanks a bunch Steve!

Tim Smart and I had a spanking, relatively windless, definitely warm day in NE
Colorado.
At Sand Draw SWA:
calling COMMON RAVEN and a RL Hawk and a N Shrike
near Julesburg:
COMMON GROUND-DOVE. Take I-76 to US-287. Go n. towards Julesburg. There are two
bridges over the
Tom Wilberding, Todd Deininger and I headed out to Jackson Reservoir this
morning for some November NE Colorado birding. Jackson was, amazingly enough
to us, glass smooth in the morning in stark contrast to conditions along the
Front Range. The reservoir was chock full of expected species of
hi Cobirders! On the way to retrieve my new shoe that was being
corrected I went by Mt. Olivet Cemetery . The long
narrow pond has a steep bank to the right and it was solid with
Cackling Geese and east of the big pond were two
big plots with many more Cackling Gees feeding.. When I came

I stated earlier it can be tough to find. 2 of us saw the bird fly early on,
but it then took 5 of us about 1.5 hrs to find it again. Be
