Decided to drive out County Road 358 for a short distance while Paul was in
town with a client. Was very surprised to find a Scissor-tailed Flycatcher

The Cedar Waxwings arrived yesterday - a big flock came into the station
area as we were finishing closing the nets. One actually perched briefly
on the top trammel of the last open net as we arrived to close it, did the
bird equivalent of thumbing his nose at us, and took off. Today we manage

The wife and I found two Bobolinks on Shumway Road, east of Fountain, CO.
They are on the east side of the dirt road, in the hay/alfalfa field. They
would drop into the tall hay to disappear, then pop back up to the fence
wire.

Coincidentally I birded areas in Ken Caryl Ranch on May 29-30 and counted
Ovenbirds, although my effort was not focused on that species, and I walked
trails or cross-country and did not sample point counts. I visited much

Lots of birds this sunny Saturday morning, May 30, along the generally
north-to-south transect from Gun Barrel Hill to Teller Farms, Boulder
County, including:
2 *black-chinned hummingbirds* and 1 *gray flycatcher* in an intriguing
patch of scrubby, rocky habitat near the south
Enjoying a nice visit in Colorado Springs the last few days, I went by Memorial
Park in Colorado Springs this morning and found the previously-reported Greater
White-fronted Goose still present.

Hi Everyone-
This morning 5/30 I got up early and walked around Golden Ponds in Longmont.
I walked in by the dirt trail. Once I got to the St Vrain, I immediately
heard two Red-eyed Vireos singing. It took some patience to see them high up
in the cottonwoods. Western Tanagers and Western Wood-P
Bird singing same location 6am. East of Valco Pond #3 in Pueblo.
