The portly appearance is better for FRGU over LAGU. Maybe this bird has
retained outer primaries or is just hard to see in the photo, but I do see
FRGU lacking the white-bordered black tips in the spring.

Stepped outside 8:15am today 11/22 to hear 4 Eastern Bluebirds calling from
backyard ash tree. They quickly flew off, distinctive bluebird wing pattern and
giss for visual confirmation. NW Loveland, Larimer Co. Pleasant surprise!

full of some type of small fruiting deciduous trees that hosted thousands of
waxwings so it was a honey hole for a while.
Waxwings also seem to like Juniperus fruits iirc.

Had my first passerine spring arrival this morning 3/12, a Say's Phoebe calling
from a utility line in Johnstown. Also the Barn Owl was heard several times
again from yard in Milliken two nights ago 3/10 though still no visual.

Warbler on the other side of town, but still a cool bird for mid-January.
This is in the neighborhood on the southwest corner of Drake and Timberline
just west of the King Sooper's. Will post again if I see or hear this bird
in the future or if I get a photo.

Wind and distance makes it difficult to distinguish tern sp. from franklins

What's wrong for Atlantic Brant? Granted I have not seen much in the way of
solid field marks to pick out this odd Melville Island/Puget
Sound/'dark-bellied'/intermediate Brant, I am curious how this bird differs
from a typical east coast bird.Melville Island is one of two major
breeding
to the left (north). Thanks to
Scott Baron for finding and Nick Komar for helping to get the word out.
