Cat Lake (name on Google maps) sits on the west side of the Platte River
Trail in between I-270 and I-76 in Adams County. Easiest access is likely
from Columbine Street, which parallels I-270 on the south side of the lake,
north side of 270. Alternately, the parking lot about 3/4 mile
that people are trespassing, and that ANYONE would
assume I was.
Our birding community should be better than that.

Good evening, all - while bicycling on Mineral about 1:00 p.m., on the
south side of Cooley lake, I saw a really large flock of white-cheeked
geese. Mixed in with them were three white geese - no binoculars, so I
don't know if they were snow or Ross's.

about an hour late this afternoon, but no luck. As consolation prizes, we
saw some beautiful yellow-rumped warblers, great blue herons on the nest,
and an upset kingfisher buzzing around.

on the Estes Cone 2.6 miles from the Long's Peak trailhead ranger

A group of 12-15 Franklin gulls continue to grace the lake at Clement
Park (SE corner of Wadsworth and Bowles). I also had a nice look at a
cinnamon teal on the southeast corner of the lake - first time I've
seen one there!

over the middle of Johnson Reservoir at Clement Park (southeast corner
of Wadsworth and Bowles). They were skimming right over the water,

Hi all - my wife and are spending a night at the Arena Dust Bed and
Breakfast (between Lamar and Holly on 50) in mid-April to see some
lesser prairie chickens. We're planning to leave Denver early on
Friday, spending the night there, and then finding somewhere else to
stay Saturday night.
