Yes unusual species in the GBBC database are reviewed when submitted
to ensure the accuracy of the data. Like ebird, notable sightings are
flagged for review before added to the data base thus it will not
appear immediately, but will soon, see the FAQ at birdcount.org.

I was not more specific about the location of the Wastewater Treatment Plant
where I located this bird yesterday because without permission, people are
unable to enter the premises. Regardless, the plant is on 75th St, between Jay
and Valmont, E of Boulder. Walden Ponds, just a short distance
Yesterday there were about 500 cranes in southwest portion of MV Refuge (near
corner of Colorado 15 and RG County Rd. 8S), some being far back to the west,
others closer to parking. Other species as expected along CO 15. One Northern
Harrier on County Rd. 8S, already yet. Farther east in
Bill Hackos and I were birding with our grandchildren on Saturday Feb 19 in
Wheatridge Prospect Park ‹ and the Evergreen Audubon Group was also present.
We saw a Barrow¹s Goldeneye on the first lake from the west parking lot

This morning (2/22), I heard and then saw a Juniper Titmouse in with a small
flock of Black-capped Chickadees at Horseshoe Lake. To get to the location from
N Monroe Ave turn east on Knobcone Pl and then north on Elm Ct. I parked at the
end of this roundabout looking at some of the many gulls
Hybridization between American Black Ducks and Mallards is rampant. When
birding back in the East Coast, I always look for white in the trailing edge of
the speculum on American Black Ducks to determine if they are hybrids. Works
every single time. No exceptions. No matter what someone on the
Hooder mergansers (2 pair - gorgeous males), common goldeneyes, ring-
necks, and plenty of mallards and Canada geese.

Hi all - my wife and are spending a night at the Arena Dust Bed and
Breakfast (between Lamar and Holly on 50) in mid-April to see some
lesser prairie chickens. We're planning to leave Denver early on
Friday, spending the night there, and then finding somewhere else to
stay Saturday night.
