On a lighter note, should my husband and I change our last name LEE to
something less offensive like Lincoln ? More seriously, like a young friend I
introduced to birding said to me once: why don’t they use descriptive names
that would help identifying the birds?

About 10 days ago I saw a bird leaving the small park just NE of the Post
Office in Elbert and thought it looked like a Cuckoo; didn’t think it was
likely to be one at the time and I didn’t give it a second thought.
The small treed area should probably be checked.
The bird flew N-NE to the trees

It was flying low so I thought it just took flight or about to land.
I drove to Meridian Rd to try to refind it but no luck.

Late afternoon Saturday (around 4:10)
we had a Greater Roadrunner pose for us on top of a small hill just beyond the
east end of the parking lot at the bottom of Sailboard Rd.
Then it ran down going north; we had a glimpse of it after we went back up
Sailboard and turned east.
We saw the female Mottled Duck around 3:30 this afternoon at Neegronde

It was north of the boat launch at the end of CR C, a good distance from the
boat launch, in the “bay” in the north part of the reservoir.
