When I went for a run yesterday on the Highline Canal from the Orchard parking
lot, running north, I also saw a fairly large flock of Magpies mostly in a dead
tree around milepost 5. Likely the same flock I assume.

I can't really add much from what was already said. He didn't was one of the
good guys. Always kind and always helpful. It has been a while since I last
saw him, which I think was at Warren Finch's memorial service. He too will be
missed but not forgotten.

Another question for my old fuzzy mind. There was one Whooping Crane that
showed up on the front range, as I recall somewhere a little east of Ft.
Collins or Loveland. I was still with FWS and made a trip out there to check
on it and the contingency plan that I recall was in

Sorry for the delay but finally got over to Centennial Park after dealing with
jet lag from returning from China and a sinus infection. The Prothonotary
Warbler was again observed yesterday morning around 10:15 a.m. found by Paul
(don't remember his last name), myself, and a woman (Ms. Smith)
I assume no one has been given a rationale for the no bird seed regulation.
The only rationale that I can think of is that there has been a huge problem in
the U.S. and otherparts of the world with noxious weeds as well as critters
reaching the U.S. both accidently and introduced on purpose.
As of shortly before noon, the scissor-tailed flycatcher is still along the Van
Bibber Creek Trail. My wife (Laura) and I actually took the wrong horsetrail
that runs along the southern border of the open space property. We did hook up
with Patti Echelmeyer for a bit. She returned to the

Looks great. One does, I think, have to have a little humor to be a bird

Those Eastern Phoebes have been in that area for quite a while so suspect they

My wife Laura and I spend about 3 hours at Cherry Creek State Park. There were
a numberof other birders there as well as some good birds. We did not see
either the Caspian Ternor the Neotropic Cormorant. Of the 42 species that we

their Fox Ranch property in Yuma County (well known to Ted and others) and then
on toWray, Colorado to see Greater Prairie Chickens putting on a wonderful
show. We then spent a couple hours at Bonny State Park

the marina shortly after noon andit was feeding not to far our from the marina.
